Honestly Mega Whimsicott is more unique than the other megas in the game. It's one of the few Megas that you probably DON'T wanna mega evolve immediately to make full use of his non-mega ability, Prankster. Mega Whimsicott meanwhile, boasts better defenses and has a new ability, Regenerator which recovers its HP for every time it switches out by 30%.
Here is a basic set that I would run and recommend:
[Pivot/Hassle set]
Mega Floofball w/ Whimsicottite
Nature: Timid
EVs: 248 HP/252 Sp. Att/ 8 Speed
Eh, just giving ya a basic spread. I havent tested the EV spread yet, but distributing them around HP, Sp. Att, and/or Speed is generally a good idea in this set.
Taunt/Leech Seed/Tailwind/Knock Off
U-turn
Moonblast
Giga Drain/Energy Ball
As I stated earlier, Mega Whimsicott is probably one of the few Megas you don't wanna Mega into immediately thanks to its super-usable non-mega Ability, Prankster. Send in Whimsicott and proceed to hassle your opponents with Taunt or Leech Seed before they get to you first thanks to its Prankster ability; and then proceed to Mega Evolve the next turn if you so plan to attack the next turn or U-turn out to safety while making use of Regenerator. You can opt to learn Tailwind instead especially if you are planning to use Mega Whimsicott in Doubles, of which Moonblast can be replaced with Dazzling Gleam if you so want a better AoE move. If you prefer Knock Off over all of the options I have mentioned, then feel free to Mega Evolve immediately as soon as you sent it out.
Do remember that Mega Whimsicott can easily heal itself via switching out or U-turn, but you can opt to learn Giga Drain over Energy Ball if you want to sustain yourself longer XD
All in all, Play Mega Whimsicott well, and I reckon it will be really hard to kill that Mega Pink Floofball ^^
