How about ditto transform himself in exeggcute? A bunch of eggs to see a egg. This might make a good omelette.

Not going to work because Ditto hasn't seen an exeggcute yet.

Maybe I can have it turn into the Furret while it's still asleep?  Hmmm...

Either that, or simply any Pokemon that has Flame Body Ability (or, if that's not possible, Swiftfire?) to lure the Furret away from the Egg and the take it when it isn't looking.

Or perhaps Transform into a female Watchog to lure it? The seduction strategy almost work every time.

Ditto hasn't seen a Watchog yet either (the one you're about to face is the first the party's encountered).  And I doubt Ditto would appreciate being used as bait in that specific way...
