How about ditto transform himself in exeggcute? A bunch of eggs to see a egg. This might make a good omelette.

Either that, or simply any Pokemon that has Flame Body Ability (or, if that's not possible, Swiftfire?) to lure the Furret away from the Egg and the take it when it isn't looking.

No pokemon with Flame Body, technically speaking.  Swiftfire would be the closest thing.

I also technically don't have any item theft moves readily available (unless Ditto can transform into Pulse from memory, I guess...then I could use Trick)...

But I imagine Furret probably won't be pleased if the egg is simply stolen from it...

Ditto hasn't seen a Watchog yet either (the one you're about to face is the first the party's encountered).  And I doubt Ditto would appreciate being used as bait in that specific way...

That's out of my control. And is more goofy than scary.  And if Furret flees, it will probably take the egg with it.

Then try to lure it away with food or similar.
Or, to be blunt and open, simply speak to the Furret and see whether it would really mind giving this Egg away at all.
Or, if Shiva makes it to register leader-Furret to a Pokeball of hers after defeating Druddigon, this one may help and diplomize with the other Furret to make it part ways with the Egg. But I dunno whether this would technically work at all? I need to take on Druddigon before any other Encounters can be resolved, so it might ?

Oh right, I'll get to start the Mandatory Encounter then in a post now!~ Conversation between Heart and this Knight and later Heart and Ventus concerning Delta Onix can of course still continue.
