In a dim sitting room, he borrows the Trainer ID Dagny fixed for you, and scans it. A tube rattles and dispenses a small metal ammo box. He opens it up, showing you a dark striated badge flecked with holographic nodules. "This is the Hornblende badge. It will make your Pokemon wiser. I am also making a log of all the strategies you employed in our battle... in a way, our fight will live on in other fights. Stop by any time you want a drink, and you can take this one with you."

He gives you a Brandy, which is an "energy drink" akin to Lemonade. It's only healthy for evolved Pokemon and physically mature humans.

-16xp is spent for Spira to increase Crafts to 3 (now at 9, if my math is right)
also, how much cash do I get, and is the Brandy volatile/flammable?

Spira looks at Howl quizzically when he reacts that way to the name, if he had to guess that reaction would constitute recognition. Once things 'cool down' after the battle, Spira asks Howl, "Considering the way you reacted earlier, how do you know her name? That girl never even had the chance to leave Sinnoh, so how?" Despite the interrogative nature of his questions, Spira tries to remain calm.

"I don't recognize the name, no. However, I felt something of what it means to you. I have extraordinary senses when it comes to the shadowy realms beyond the physical world. Spiritomb felt it too, and had to be restrained by my will to keep from attacking you personally. Do you want to tell me more about that name? I won't pry."

With that, Spira paper-bags the brandy, and heads to the Pokemon Center to heal up.
