Monferno was actually worth more on the basis of amount of exp per pokemon.  This was a 5v1, however, so it's still a relatively easy encounter.  

Harder outlaws might not be working alone.

Hmm makes sense. Still 3 XP still not a good xp for the difficult of the battle in my opinion (could be 4/5 xp) but it is understandable a 5v1 battle and horde have extra xp.

Now. Let's check the next room and drain that guy Aura.
