[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
Quote:Quote Dragonstrike: (I've been thinking about how to enforce Luck Dice versus moves failing in this Play by Post system, and I'm thinking about bringing Luck Dice into play when they're either a) requested by the player if the move would have an accuracy pool of 0 or less b) whenever the dice pool would become negative.  If the dice pool is exactly 0, there's no consequences.  What do you guys think about that rule?)

Believe it or not I'm perfectly fine with this addition. Always liked the idea of Critical Fails in tabletop games, and your 2nd method of using LD sounds perfectly in line with the concept, so I have no complaints about it! Also like it because it gives more weight to Multi-Actions, as before they was no reason not to always commit to the maximum you can do, but now you have to think carefully about doing so unless you want to run afoul of Pain gumming up your Rolls. Or always have an Oran on hand to heal you in a pinch, but that way begets sacrificing your Held Item slot for, so it ain't as neat of a fix in of itself.

That, and Luck Dice could potentially still work out in your favor, which would make for some great RP moments if/when that occurs!

On this topic, though, I do have an important question: What about Snake Eyes? Would they count as minuses to Dice Rolls, and therefore potentially 'earn' someone a Critical Miss? If so, that means Confusion and Curse-like Effects have gotten quite a nasty boost, and that Snake Eyes are even more of a problem than ever.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
