Actually, now that you bring this up and I've thought a little more about how the item would interact with how I'm handling the maps, I'd absolutely be able to tell you guys which rooms have items and wild pokemon.  So let's change it to what it traditionally does.  (Besides, for 9000, I think that's a suitably strong effect).

Ohhh, that's a very appreciated change!  Knowing where the foes and the Items are is what made/makes it so valuable for me when trying to collect loot and avoiding dangerous opponents. Hnnnnnngh, it's so tempting to buy it, but I'll still abstain from just doing so on the whim.
