[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
(04-03-2021, 03:16 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Hey Dragonstrike, wondering how the new Monster Hunter compares to MHW. Don't have a Switch to play it (or all that much money to buy it if its also on PC), but if its anything interesting I wouldn't mind watching some videos on it.

With regards to PC, Rise is going to be released on that platform next year, so there's plenty of time to save up for it if you want to take a stab at it (or a bash.  I'm all for weapon equality).

I've been having a blast with MHR so far.  I've gone through all the currently available single player content already.  The new monsters and wirebug mechanics are a breath of fresh air after exhausting World's content, and it's a generally smooth experience.  The verticality and wall climbing also promotes exploring the maps far more than previous titles have, and the core gameplay loop is still as strong as ever.

I definitely think it's a little easier to get into than World, though it still has the 'gotta put in the time to learn' effect that all the MH games have.  And its art style looks very good and the music is amazing.  Overall, it definitely deserves all the great review scores it's been getting, imo. Just as good as World, if not better in some areas.

And now that you've posted here and reminded me about this, note to self: work on the next game thread post after dinner today.
