Sneak Attack. We could all use a good fight and the XP it gives, and it isn't a wise idea to leave potential enemies that can Move around an Ambush us later. We could try Diplomacy - and normally Platina would all be for it - but the presense of that Chandelure is enough to make her rethink her typical stance and just pummel it into the snow.
Speaking of which, Chandelure - we're dogpiling that sucker immediately, no debate. If Dragonstrike is referencing it's Movepools prior to Gen 8 we have to deal with Spread Smog that'll likely Poison us (Well, not Platina, but still), on top of Confuse Ray and Hex to rub salt in our wounds then immediately ignite them with Flame Burst - an that's not counting anything else it learn in its previous Evos or it's Lore threat potential. If it has it's Gen 8 Learnpool, however? Three words: Inferno, Memento, Curse. The first is the most Lethal Move that would instantly murder Platina almost guarantee if Keldeo didn't immediately go on firekeeping duty, Memento would cripple a Party member for who knows how long in the MD, and Curse is just as bad since it'll probably linger much longer than it should. We absolutely don't want to deal with anything this Ghost can throw at us, so we're going to focus it down and KO it ASAP.
The rest are threats, but much lesser ones. Platina hard counters Trubbish unless it has a Nasty Surprise and it doesn't know many threatening Moves until Lv 27 (unless it tags someone with Acid Spray for someone else to exploit). Cubchoo has Powder Snow and perhaps Icy Wind as Spread Moves, but it likely doesn't have that much SPE to really exploit them to the fullest, though we should be mindful it may be packing Frost Breath (Crit Move) and Slash (High Crit AND Lethal Move). The Mief, on the other hand, is likely going to be completely screwed over by Emolga just Nuzzling it to uselessness and then getting wombo comboed by their's and Platinas Flying STAB. It DOES have Detect and likely Fakeout, however, so it can become an annoyingly persistent threat if it plays smart, not to mention using Reversal or Fury Swipes to blitz someone down.
On a final note, how does an Ambush work exactly, @Dragonstrike ? Do we just get a free Round to pummel one Pokemon, or something?
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
