Or you find a way to trigger some positive change. Like some kind of memory of someone the Dragonflesh Forged once love. Like a memento of his disease loved one. Maybe carrying a sword of his long dead master might bring a moment of clarity.

Even killing it's kinda of a merciful way, since even if you manage to bring the humanity back, his body is forever change. But there is a positive trait. Since is really rare times, like dragons, Dragonflesh Forged can gain strength the more time pass (since dragons grow stronger the more time is passes).

IF a Dragonflesh get control of his mind and form, and don't transform into a Dragonflesh Abomination, they can a new kind of race. A Dragonflesh Reforged. It's like the humanoid side taking control of it's beast form. However it is pretty rare. Only 1 among 100 Forged could truly become a Reforged one. They even more rare than Gem Dragonborn.
