Last year's WoC OGL fiasco and the resulting ORC license coming up in this meta thread today was not on my bingo card, and yet here we are.

One of those things that was really disheartening to hear about and watch crush actual play content creators I watch.  I'm glad everything eventually worked out for both sides, but there's definitely still some skepticism with WoC, especially with the new version of DnD that's imminently releasing.

Yeah...tell me about. There was a project I followed for a long was the Runarcana project, who was a system based in the universe of League of Legends who was about to use mechanics of DnD into his creation. However, the project was cancelled, even after the whole fiasco of the OGL ended since they didn't trust WOTC

Which was heartbreaking to say the least since I loved the system and was excited to either DM or play it.
