[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Quote:Amethyst and Catherine try to focus while Scizor pulls another Explorer Badge out of his bag and explains something to Sally, and more visible confusion follows from the Lucario.  Sooo...apparently, it doesn't matter much if the groups stay in contact, so long as someone in both groups has a badge.  The badges are linked somehow, so once one group finds the stairs, everyone is able to use the badge to go to the next floor.  The badges tend to glow brighter when they're able to transport groups in Mystery Dungeons.  These Mystery Dungeons sound weirder and weirder the more I hear about them...
Scizor will hand the spare Explorer Badge to Kee.  It's glowing with the same faint light as the one pinned to Scizor's bag.

Ohhh, Kee's equally confused and pleased as Scizor hands him this.... 'Explorer Badge', he genuinely thanks them and musters the badge with curiosity. Octavia does so too and paws it, being highly intrigued by it and the power it appearantly holds. "Well, if ya're sayin' that this will do, I'm gonna b'lieve ya, Scizor..." He pins the badge right there onto his black hoodie where a jacket would have a breast pocket with a matching handkerchief. Very stylish.

Now, where to go... If Ran and Co. are going north, then Kee's suggesting to go south. "Hah, doesn't that feel like some sort of scavenger hunt?~ ...A grim and ominous one, but still one."

(This time I'm going to keep track of the path Team K *lolz* is taking on checkered paper, it's more fun this way. ^v^)

Ah damn I forgot, but BEFORE they all leave their camp to enter Mt. Coronet, Kee takes a bit of time to teach Energy Ball to Stella and Sudge Wave to Draven by explaining them the progress and introducing them to their new move, then withdrawing them into their respective Ball, connecting it to his laptop, and lastly launching the TM by putting the disk into the CD drive. He's pleased and anticipated as he does so - and makes sure that his toxic catbat understands that this new poisonous move is SO capable that he shall ONLY use it in a pinch or when fighting alone. "After all, we gotta take care that we don't accidently infect those in our row, ya see?"

(Dragon, if Stella/Draven react in a specific way about this, do let me know~)

Stella is very curious about the strange, shiny, round, flat thing that Kee's holding.  This is the first time a TM is being used to teach her a new move, and she's watching with wide, attentive eyes during the entire process.  She doesn't entirely understand what's going on, but she can't help but feel excited about it!  And that's not all!  Right before Kee's eyes, Stella's tail begins to glow with a dim evolutionary light, then splits in two!  Now she has two tails!

Draven, by contrast, is already familiar with the whole shebang, and this 100% makes up for that disaster of a battle yesterday.  He grins maliciously at the thought of being able to swamp an entire battlefield with poison.  Kee's not entirely sure that's a good sign, but he's still reasonably confident that Draven will listen to his orders and not overdo it.  +1 Happiness for Draven.

At first, Diam has her back turned to Randolph at first and her arms crossed.  If she could do so, Randolph is almost certain that she would be rolling her eyes right about now.

However, the more Randolph explains about the situation and the more concerned he sounds about it, the more Diam pays attention.

By the end of the explanation, she's turned around and is patiently listening, though her arms are still crossed.

As for her reaction...she almost seems to ignore the additional threats and just starts cackling.  Wheeheehee, she knew he needed her!  He can't go two days without her and not need her talents for something!

Randolph thinks he got the messafe across, but it's hard to tell...well, at least she doesn't seem to be holding a grudge...Diam has always been one to approach these kinds of things with a big, toothy grin on her face, after all.  Whether that's a good sign is usually another matter entirely...

Kogeki then pull out Dazzling Gleam and Shadow Ball. "Dazzling Gleam and Shadow Ball. The first one is a great counter move to Dark types. Nami already have Focus Blast, so here something awesome and cool for you to use. And Shadow Ball because you were lacking STAB Ghost type moves. Considerelly a gift for your hard work." I suppose Nagi is ecstatic for receiving not one but two TMs moves?

Nagi doesn't really jump for joy, but he does calmly and graciously accept the gifts.

That, and a small part of him is eager to rub it in Nami's face later.  Not now, though.  Definitely not now.

(Sorry I missed it earlier, but in my defense, it would have been easier to find/remember if you had bolded/colored the important text so it would have stood out more among the wall of text)

The geology of the mountain's interior doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary when Randolph checks it.  However, when Randolph checks a few of the darker corners of the room, he finds what appears to be...diamond dust?  Tiny, sparkling particles glitter along the edges of some of the tunnels, only visible because the group's light sources cause the to light up amidst the darker rocks they're scattered across.  It's too small and scattered to be of any real value unless significant time is spent gathering it up, unfortunately.

Other than that, the geology of the area seems perfectly ordinary.

Randolph's party finds a series of steep cliffs and ledges in the next room.  Small streams decorate the floor and create small waterfalls when they reach an edge.  The room is teeming with wildlife.  Water pokemon seem to be living alongside the typical inhabitants of cave environments.  However, very few of them appear to be native to Sinnoh.

1. Tyrantrum
Difficulty: Tough
Cap: 2
Note: Looks hungry.  Veeeerrrry hungry.  Not mandatory and is easily avoidable, but it's roaming around, looking for its next meal.

2. Selkid*
Difficulty: Moderate
Cap: 1
Note: Appears to be shy, and will flee if approached by more than one party member.

3. Relicanth
Difficulty: Moderate
Cap: 2
Note: Just chillin' in one of the deeper streams, seemingly not a care in the world.

Note on Scizor: just like Lucas (and Karen), he counts towards an encounter's cap, so Randolph has to choose who he wants help from should he desire it.

Team K, meanwhile, finds a large cavern with a long, narrow path that separates two large bodies of water.  Water type pokemon watch the party curiously.

There are two far shores that have additional paths leading out of the room, but the party needs to come up with a way to cross the water to reach them if they don't wish to stay on the straight and narrow.

Before moving on, Ran has this response to Diam's....exburance to his demands is just to stare at her for a few seconds, before reaching up to drag his hand across his face, pinching the bridge of is nose as he did so and letting out a long *Siiiiiiigh* .

"....You're an utterly, utterly unrepentant and shameless little imp, you know that? *Sigh* Guess that won't be a problem, so long as you do as I damn well ask, damn it. *Wave her over* Well, come'on Diam. Let's get back to the other 'fore they start getting nosey as a curious Nosepass."

He looked and sounded very much aggrieved and put upon by his wee anklebitter's evervesent nature, but if one were to examine him more closely, they'd see his posture is relaxed (well, as much as it can be right now) and a corner of his lip was quirking upwards so very, very slightly. Despite how easily aggravated he was about the tendency of Diam to get up to trouble or cause no end of mischief or colorful incidents, it seemed he didn't mind it nearly much as he appeared to. Sometimes.

Regarding his Geology findings, he's somewhat reassured that not too much has changed with the old mountain, but the abundance of powderized diamond causes him some confusion and concern none the less, and he's quick to bring it up to the rest of his mini-group.

"In case you haven't noticed, the tunnel we're in is rich with diamond dust. Not too sure of the reason why or if that's a problem per say, but thought I let you know. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say."

The steep cliffs he, Scizors, Lucas, and Sally soon discovered and presence of non-native Pokemon around them had the midget miner frowning - well, frowning more - mainly for two reasons. One, it was yet more proof that this cosmic disaster was indeed pulling Pokemon here, there, every-and-anywhere into Mt. Coronet, and that it didn't seem too picky about who or what it warps away. And two, those cliffs were going to be a pain in his rear to scale, as he doesn't have any Pokemon that can scale them that he or anyone else can ride on, nor does he have the equipment necessary to do so himself. He does have his Scarmory Stymph he can ride upwards, but that has it's own host of problems, and it doesn't solve the issue of how to get his partners up there with him (Both were probably a bit too heavy to fly on Stymph).

Before he had a chance to ruminate on these issues, and third reason for him to be displeasured and concerned with came in the form of a what appeared to be a bloody damn Tyrantrum roaming around in the distance, appearing to be on the hunt and positively starving for some attention. His expression quickly became surprised and then alarmed, before he let loose a incredibly uhappy growl that no doubt caught the attention of everyone else. If not, then him pointing straight at it would do the trick!

"By my pickaxe and boots, what's a Tyrantrum doing stomping around here?! *Pinches nose* Don't answer that. Think we can all guess the gottverdammt reason."

He lets out another growl, looking at the ironclad Explorer and boy hero with grim determination.

"I'm going over to take care of it. We could possibly steer clear of it or make a distraction to keep it occupied, but I don't want even the slightest chance that predator taking any notice of us when we least want it. That, and there's a chance it could waltz on off and meet the rest of our partners, and I don't want them saddle them dealing with it then when I could do so myself now."

Ran pauses for a second, looking at his min-group carefully, before he speaking again.

"....That being said, I wouldn't be adverse to anyone of you helping me out. I'm confidant my own partners can lay that overgrown chicken out, but having some backup in case things go wrong or it ends up picking me as its prey would be nice to have."

(If he has to go alone, he'll choose Diam and Zorn as his Pokemon against Tyrantrum. If any of his partners accept his offer to come with him, he'll only field Zorn against the prehistoric beast)
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Hummmm.... Looking at the large bodies of water to both sides full of Pokemon of the same element, Kee feels that it SHOULD be possible to cross them with Aya's help - within the same breath he also feels like it's more likely that he's becoming all dull and plain in appearance than she even considering carrying a human across some water. What is she, some sort of Lapras-ripoff?! Better forget about QUICKLY, shameless human, and learn how to PROPERLY handle and care for a star, hmpf.

And so Kee's left to follow the path among the others, his gaze wandering around to meet that one of various seemingly harmless Pokemon. There's ONE among them however that makes him stop immediately and run into the others - It's a...

"There's a highly ven'mous 'Mon around...", he tells the others, "Well, it is 'NTIL I've dealt with it. I've handled toxic Pokemon b'fore so save yarself any worries, I'm not so dumb to directly jump the gun...~" He looks confident as he says that, makes one of his trademark-'No big deal'-handgestures. Then he's off.

+++++

I'd prefer to handle and fight that Mareanie alone to put Drampa into the test, unless Karen or Kogeki are adamant on joining - though since it's a Moderate Encounter that shouldn't be necessary.
