[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

I agree. Like a old wiseman once says: The best attack its a good defence.

I've somewhat felt SO sure that Tanuki's Pidgeot would know Heat Wave. Curious to see how Percival will stand against the bird!

Well, I will try my best. The Steel and Rock typing might protect him against Normal and Flying moves. But that Heat Wave gonna be problematic. He will take neutral damage. But if that thing inflict Burn Status....I prefer not to think that.

I actually had a counter roll for Genie prepared to determine whether or not she would let Shiva ride her (She normally disdains giving rides to anyone but her partner and young children), which was going to be Terra's Will + Genie's Disobedience - 1 Liking Shiva = 7D6 Dice Roll, but if you say that the desert dragoness would automatically give the ride, so be it!

Yeap, Genie's typically not outright malicious or extremely devilish in her treatment towards others, but that doesn't prevent her from trying to constantly and creatively attempt to engineer shock, surprise, prank, undermine/trip up, riled up/ incited/provoked feelings, etc. in others. She's sorta of a unholy mix of a troll, gadfly/inciter (Depends on mood/person/Pokemon), saboteur/diabolical devil (again, depends on mood/person/Pokemon), and HIGHLY whimsical person, in sum. If a Gardevior is an example of a good, polite fae being, then Genie's a prime example of the exact opposite type of 'fairy' (Lighter vs. Darker, in jest). Its why Terra was so mortified he'd brought Shiva and them together at first, as he then realized it would just EXPONENTIALLY fuel her mischievousness, which naturally meant he had potentially a loooot more problems/incident to deal with in the future concerning them. Normally she'll behave when asked by Terra, but.....well, she always finds way to bend the letter of any given agreement to her favor or the detriment of others if she desires.

In short: Terra always has his hands full with Genie if he isn't vigilant, careful, and exact with her, and sometimes not even then. Maybe in the future she'll mellow out as she gains more Loyalty/Happiness, but for now....nope! I'd say poor monk, but he loves and accepts his Dragon's behavior regardless - he just sometimes wishes her behavior was less of an issues at times.

Will get to posting a response concerning Genie's reaction to Phantom's last post much later, as I have a class in an hour that will last until 8:00 PM CST. Sorry, dear!

Oh yes, was about to say in a post I was just typing up that a counter roll was intended, but I'm actually delighted that Genie auto-agreed to it as a grande finale after all the playing with Shiva. :> And I know you have class until late hour today, that's perfectly fine and doesn't have to be something you'd have to apologize for. I wouldn't get to read or even respond it until being home from work tomorrow anyway, so all's well!~

That description of Genie's nature kinda reminds me on Whimsicott (apart from the 'provoke feelings'-part), though I'd guess these fluffballs are more of concealed and arcane tricksters that prefer to prevent humans from spotting them.

I'll keep that in mind next time!

BTW, I don't enforce persuasion rolls on players, and only sometimes on their Pokemon. For NPCs, sometimes they'll already have a decision made and your roll doesn't matter, other times they may be persuadable.

Hm....Percival go last. Better use Protect, Iron Defense then retaliate with Iron Head/ Rock Tomb? Thoughts people?

Siudz like a plan! I suggest using Iron  Head over Rock Tomb in this Instance, as the potential for Flitch on hit allows you more wiggle room against her Pidgeot! The goal now is to outlast and crush Pidgeot, so get set up and then start waillingg on them!

I'd probably skip Protect and go for Iron Defense and -Head for the Flinching Chance - but again, I'm don't feeli like being very good in giving advice for an important battle! D: Would mostly use the orders that intutively feel right.

I only now saw the Edit!

Makes sense then why he would have not directly wanted Shiva and Genie to meet, play and basically enjoy some quality time together - but me feels that a potential developing friendship between the fae enthusiast and faelike dragon does benefit the former in the way of stepping out of her coyness and comfort zone a bit more often and less hesitant, seeing how openly mischievous and devlish she is. Cottonee after having evolved and having her Ability retrained will likely (hopefully) only add to that positively. That, and learning that special dragons like her and Luxi exist as well, and can be used as a common ground/conversation starter with the dense mountain of a man.

Genie not really liking to carry people on her back and it being the first time she's spending time with Shiva kinda made a roll with a -3 penalization believable for me. Though I'd guess even if the Roll would fail she wouldn't be mad or offended as like Windos stated, Genie seems to enjoy spending time with Shiva.
