[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel
I totally expected that Round to end via DB, tbh...though I still think Arbok has had the worst luck out of everyone so far :/

"I'd say that's still more or less a pyrrhic victory. Speaking of Ayame..."

Back out she comes!  Even if she doesn't do much against this last pokemon though, she'll have done her job: giving Reiner the opportunity to pick out the perfect pokemon for this final showdown.

"Pyrric though it may be, it was still a win for me, and that cost was worth it in my eyes."

"*Has an amused and thoughtful look at you send out Ayame* Ah, I see...using Ayame as a way to discover my last Pokémon, and then preparing for it in advance. *Claps their hands together and smiles even more brightly* How cleverly Knowledgeable of you, sir! Most of my matches are against people, and I mean no offense to you or all the other opponents I face....not all that gear for critical thinking, so its not to often I encounter such strategic action! Regular Trainers just throw out their strongest Pokémon or directly try to counter whatever creature an opponent has, and it makes fighting them quite the bore *Rolls their eyes while saying the word and hrumpts before resuming smiling*. Its honestly refreshing to fight someone that knows how to properly use their grey matter, so once again I sincerely extend my gratitude once more for challenging me like so, in addition to putting up a great fight!"

Fluidity gave you a formal bow after they finished their long speal, and from you could feel it was completely genuine. Come to think of it, you now vaguely recall they felt bored and unchallenged when you first approached them, and now thanks to your efforts you've managed to re-kindle their interests once more! Good job?

The thrill seeking thespian then pull out one last Priemer Ball and tossed it onto the field, and out come a Salazzle as they stand tall, alert, and ready/raring for a battle! A really tall and masculine looking lizard, so this one must no doubt be a Male! Where does this eccentric collector get all these abnormal 'Off Gender' Pokémon?

Guess it doesn't really matter now, as you have more important things to do: like winning this fight!

Initiatives:

Ayame: *4 + (1) = 5
Salazzle *7 + (4) = 11

Macho Salazzle goes first, then Ayame.

Well, if Ayame gets to do something somehow (oh hey, Heatproof might come in handy here...), the choice of what to do is obvious, right?

A single Drill Run!

Funnily enough, Male Salazzle are also technically possible according to canon 'Dex entries.  Male Salandit apparently don't evolve partially because they're malnourished (due to giving all their food to the females).  The more you know, right?

...makes ya wonder what Fluidity was feeding her Salandit if the result was this...

I'm getting semi off topic, though. Back to the battle!

(I know, and THAT was the entry that inspired me to make Fluidity! As for what she feeds her Poke....well, just High Quality Gorment Poke Food or some variant of it. She's intelligent AND filthy rich enough to create a diet that would maximize the health and power of her Pokémon!)

Oddity Fluidity Round 14!

Macho Salazzle initially looked about ready to char broil the ninja bee on the spot, but Fluidity was quick to curtail that response by primly saying to him: "Macho, remember what I told you about GTH Beedrills and them being notoriously flame retardant compared to their normal Variants? Use Iron Tail instead, understand?"

He grumbled a bit at having to repress his natural desire to BURN STUFF, but he conceded to his master's command, darting forward and whip that now glowly lengthy appendage right at her!

Iron Tail
Accuracy: DEX (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (2) + Single Action - 3 Accuracy = 5D6 Dice
(5)(5)(1)(4)(4) Hits!
Damage: STR (4) + 4 - Vitality (5) = 3D6 Dice
(6)(6)(1) ...and Ayame is swatted like a fly, her awareness squished right out of her!

"*Demurely smiles* ...And so you are left with one Pokémon remaining. I do hope its a spectacular one, and you have a good plan for it to put to use sir! I'd hate for this battle to end on an anti-climax, you know, hm hm!"

This was it, the final showdown! Which Pokémon will it be that will face Macho Salazzle?!

Well, I think I'll pass on using the Steel/Ground type.  No doubt the lizard would be able to erode away at those defenses rather easily.  Nah, I've got something better in mind.

Kingdra!!

"I'd show ya what special moves she has, but I think I'd rather just try to win this instead of showing off.  Alright girl, do what you do best!"

Hydro Pump x3! (Brine instead once Salazzle is at half HP or less or if HP is Disabled)
Accuracy: 3 + 5 + 3 - 2 - 3/4/5 = 6/5/4 D6 (add 2 more when using Brine)
Damage: 5 + 3 + STAB - 3 + SE = 6 D6 + 1 damage
Note: 4 successes crits!

Not much in the way of burning stuff is gonna be happening here it seems. Sorry but not sorry, Salazzle!

(Would have been nice if I'd had one of the other two Abilities active right now, but ah well.  Guess we'll make do)

(Oh dear, you might regret that decision....let see if you do!)

Kingdra's Initiative: 6 + (3) = 9 , goes second!

Upon first seeing you Dragon Queen of the Sea, Fluidity seemed somewhat underwhelmed by your choice...until something about her caught their eye, causing them to let out a *Gasp!* before going *Aha!* !

"That is, without a shadow of a doubt, an Blackthorn City Breed Kingdra!!! Nobody but a member of The Dragon Clan has access to them, and even then only a few select branch families specialize in the breeding and utilization of this species! So you do have relations with that isolationist city, as I first thought! Though now I'm curious why you were not upfront about having such a prestigious pedigree, like most other Dragon Tamers from the city I've meet...ah! Most likely has something to do with the bad blood between you and the city, correct? Hmm....If I were to hazard a guess, you most likely got in trouble with your Elders their and got expelled from the city, or a personal situation caused you to leave on bad terms with almost everyone. Or both! I am right, sir?"

Oh my. After only seeing Yang and Kingdra, the Odd person has pretty much managed to ascertain both you origins and vaguely what caused you to get booted out of Blackthorn. Smart cookie, this one is....

Luckily nobody was paying close attention to the fight (which include the cops, thank the Dragon Gods!), so her blurting all that out was  ignored by all but you and Kingdra ,who was visibly taken aback by the creepily knowing analysis this weird trainer gave! Who are they, and how do they know so much about them?! And why are they dressed like someone who couldn't decide what gender they were?! Its all so WIERD!

Of course they noticed her reaction and their eyes lite up even more at that pseudo confirmation, but they still seemed to be waiting on you for an answer!

We'll get back to this mini-scene later, though, as its time for:

Oddity Fluidity Battle Round 15!

The Adonis Newt started things off by swelling up to startlingly proportions, before they let loose a massive glob of pitch black:

Toxic!
Accuracy: 8D6 Base Dice - 3 Dice = 5D6 Dice
(1)(6)(2)(6)(3)
Kingdra is SUPER Badly Poisoned, as Corrosion elevates all Poison Status to such a deadily level!

A cruel smile begins to play out on the sly salamander, but before he could contemplate doing worse to her, the raging dragoness let loose a high pressurized blast of water to put him right out! That'll serve him!

Hydro Pump
(3)(3)(3)(2)(4)(6) It hits!
(5)(1)(3)(3)(5)(6) Macho Salazzle takes 4 Damage; 4/8 HP (Surprise!), - 2 Pain!

The manly smelter is almost washed away by the overwhelming force of the currents, but he manages to stick himself to the ground and anchor himself! He then glares at the Azure Beauty with an intent that promises no mercy against them for THAT, and opens his mouth wide as a orb of purple energy begans to form and expand, before snapping his maws shut and rapidly opening them again to release:

Dragon Pulse!
(5)(4) The Dragon Queen of the Sea is sent flying by his POWER, as his Merciless Ability (Surprise, Double Ability!) makes all his attacks automatically Crit!
Damage: STR (4) + 3 + Crit + SE - Vitality (*0 [Merciless Mod Triggered!!!) = 9D6 + 1 Damage!!! Oh, CRAP!
(1)(4)(5)(6)(4)(4)(2)(3)(3)(2) Kingdra takes 6 Damage; 5/11 HP, - 2 Pain!!

Landing with a *SMAACK!* on the battlefield, the raging dragoness is stunned by the sheer BRUTALITY of The Adonis Newt's Move....before she subsequently shrugs it off due to pure ANGRY at being showed up like that and releases a bubbly packet of salty water to smother his fires out once and for all!

Brine
(6)(1)(5) Hits!
(4)(2)(3)(1)(6)(1)(2)(3)(3) Macho Salazzle takes 2 Damage; 2/8 HP!!

SOMEHOW they sizzling salamander manages to preserve and SURVIVE Kingdra's wrath a second time, looking much beleaguered from the effort! He still had enough fight left in him to summon forth enough energy and fire off another:

Dragon Pulse 2!
(6) HITS and CRITS!
(2)(2)(1)(3)(5)(4)(5)(2)(3) Kingdra takes 4 Damage; 1/11 HP, - 3 Pain!!!

The Azure Beauty is almost KOed by the blast, but they hold on through sheer bloodly minded determination NOT to lose against a advantageous match up, ESPECIALLY not a fellow Dragon like her! Mustering all the Strength left in her, she fires off one last deluge of saline solution at the manly smelter!

Brine 2!
(5) Hits!
(5)(3)(5)(6)(4)(3)(4)(4)(1) Macho Salazzle thoroughly drenched to the bone and all put out by that last gout of water!

Super Badly Poison Check: Vitality - 2 = 3D6 Dice
(1)(1)(1) ...Nope, not by a longshot.
Kingdra vomits up a stream of black water logged vomit, before Fainting too!!! Better get them an Antidote soon, or ELSE!

...Wait a gosh darn minute.

BOTH opponents are KOed before the Round was fully resolved, and neither side has any Pokémon left?

That only means one thing: We have a Tie, people! Who would have expected such an outcome?!

Certainly not Fluidity, who had sorta semi-resigned themselves to being defeated at this point, only to have THIS happen to both them and YOU.

Right now, they are just....left speechless at what just happen.

How does Reiner react to all this too is a question on a lot of minds...

Oh, and Reiner and all his Pokémon gain 14XP from the fight from it being on the upper level of medium, which doubles is a total of 28 XP for everyone!

"...I believe that if we're going by official League rules, I win because Kingdra fainted last.  Well played.  And I believe that you and I have at least a few things to talk about now."

One Pecha Berry for Kingdra, coming right up!

Well then, Fluidity, the floor is yours.  Reiner's neither confirming nor denying anything, and there's definitely more than a few things to discuss...

Wow.  That's a LOT of exp...neat.  Now to figure out what to do with it all...

Well then, Fluidity, the floor is yours.  Reiner's neither confirming nor denying anything, and there's definitely more than a few things to discuss...

(I personally consider it a Tie, which is basically a Win for both sides in this case, but if Reiner wants to be the sole winner, Fluidity is perfectly fine with that! Also, this is actually the first time that Reiner has been pushed this close to defeat by a NPC Trainer, if we don't count Buzzwole!)

Your presumably grouse yet still respectful praise manages to snap Fluidity out of her daze, causing them to sloooowly turn towards you with eyes filled with awe....

...until they pranced right on up and gave you a great big hug and let out a squeal of joy! Not as bone crushing as your mother's or Emily's, but this one was a little on the tight side!

"THAT WAS AN MARVELOUS BATTLE, GOOD SIR! Never before have I had felt THIS much EXCITEMENT and FASCINATION with another Trainer's skill that was not of a Gym, though considering you ARE of the Dragon Clan (They're pretty much going to assume this, but Reiner can keep his trap shut!) such skill and intelligence ought to have been expected by me! If you want to be sole victory of this battle, well I don't mind giving you that honor at ALL! Not after such a rousing battle! Well played good sir, well play!"

The thrill seeker eccentric then releases their grip on you and steps back, a beaming grin on their face as they regarded you with a mixture of extreme interested and honest to good giddiness. Is this what having a admirer feels like? If so, maybe he was better off without them!

"After an overall simply STUNNING performance in that battle, I do believe you are most worthy for me to extend my Offer to! But first, let's get some other business out of the way: The Knowledge of Where to Acquire a GTH Beedrill in this city. I want one for my collection at first, but after seeing how...effective it was in battle, I now want one as a fighter for my exploration team! One would certainly come in handy when I'm hunting Rare Fire types, that's for sure!"

Before you could begin to set a price for the information, they raise their hand to stop you, and....interesting gleam in their eyes as they gave you a pleased smile that you weren't quite sure how to interpret.

"But....I know well the dangers of GTH Beedrills both second and now first hand, and I don't exactly savor the thought of either being turned into a pin cushion or being forced to call in a Favor from one of my Friends. Originally I was just going to take that risk, but after seeing how much my Frosslad respects you and remembering how docile Ayame was, plus the fact that I owe you greatly for helping me....contain He Tsareena, I've come upon a different deal: Trading my Frosslad, Mega Stone and all, for Ayame. As you saw in battle, he's quite capable of holding his own despite his relative weakness and fraility of Type, and he's quite special beyond just being a male exemplar of the normally female species. Here, let me show you his profile, and I'll let you decide for yourself if he's worthy enough for you, good sir!

Trade Offer: Frosslad for Ayame

Stats for Frosslad
HP: Standard
Loyalty and Happiness: 4
Disobedience: Standard
Item: Galite (Which is usable by Frosslad, obviously)
Ability: Inner Focus (Base Form)
Mega Ability: Refridgerate - Works as described in the core book, but has the follow extensive modifications, all of which are to basically compensate for how bad of a typing Ice/Ghost can be for the spirt. All -ate Abilities have similar mods too them, in order to fall in with the new president set by this one.
- SE Damage for Ice Moves is Doubled
- Resistance against Ice types Moves is lowered
- Water type Moves used against target are turned to Ice type instead; Fire type and Heat Based Moves are weakened, and the Pokémon gains a Ground and Grass Resistence
- Steel and Rock type Moves deal 2X SE Damage against this Pokémon, and have a higher Crit Rate
- Misty Terrain is extended so long as this user is out on the field; Has interactions with other Terrain that will have to be discovered
Moves: All of 1 XP Moves for Gen 7 Frosslass and Galie, ^Frost Breath (Crit Damage works like Rend/Serration), ^Protect, Draining Kiss, Wil-lo-wisp, Confuse Ray, Shadow Ball, Return *Block, *Disable (They didn't use it out of respect and honor for Reiner!) , *Weather Ball
Quirks: Has the learnset of a Frosslass, the TMset from Galie, and can be Tutored Move that either Evolution can learn. It also learned Protect and Frost Breath from the Galie side as one time bonus for becoming a Male Frosslass/Frosslad.
Surprises!: + 1 Fight, + 1 Survival, Faint and Death Immunity Resistence* , - 1 STR*
* If Frosslad sets up Double Team and the Trainer is willing to conditionally spend a Willpoint, then any Move that would have Fainted or Killed Frosslad instead will leave it with 1 HP. Double Team Buff is lost, and has to be recast in order for the F/D Resistence to be available for 1 Will. 2 Willpoints can be spent instead to have them. The Downside is both the Double Team and Willpoint requirements, and Frosslad having - 1 STR
Rad/Nuc Mechanics: Due to being the percular Ice/Ghost type, Nuclear Damage and Rads work differently for this Pokémon than any other. This Pokémon accumulates Rads slowly over time, but they can not be Corrupt/Irradiated by them. Instead, for every 25% Rads they gain, they will gain an Attribute, and in the following order: INS, VIT, DEX, and STR.  It can also expend 25% Rads to Preform a Random Nuclear type Move without an Action Cost. Nuclear type Moves duel Neutral Damage to this Pokémon.
Why all these mechanics for this Pokémon. Why, it practically becomes the embodiement of Nuclear Winter, of course!
