Karen is sitting through the briefing, silently, sipping on her tea, she cringes a bit at when Ran lets the vulgarities fly, then when Rowan asks her that, she answers; "Uhm, a couple things, firstly; concerning the league representative, I understand if you can't tell us their name right now, but could you tell us more about them aside from their excellence in healing, and secondly, earlier, I had met Lucas (that ought to catch Ran and/or Kogeki's attention) and he didn't seem to know much about the goings-on; has he been left out of the loop?"

Name dropping Lucas would garner Ran's attention, though he doesn't react overtly that much. He looks at her and raises both his eyebrows in interest, before lowering them with a thoughtful "Hmm......" and focusing on Old Fashion again. So that wee lass has meet the boy champ, has she now? Interesting.....

Towards Ran, Kee replies with a simple "Oh, I can take care of mah own quite decently, I think~" still in that singsang-voice. "Trouble and misery tends to find me more often by itself than me looking for it. Must see me as an easy target or have a liking on me, but I don't reciprocate this 'liking' trouble's fostering for me at all. At aaaaaaaallllllllllll." He emphasizes this way more than necessary just for the dramatic effect, underlines it by slumbing into his chair even more and everything. "Raaaaaaaaaaaan, don't think too much about those children and youngsters becomin' a Trainer 'n travelin' the lands for badges and things, if they want to do that, let 'em. *waving hand gesture* It's not like they're harming us by doing so or such; as long as they don't, I don't mind. Don't half-waste your thoughts 'n precious brain cells on things ya can't change."

"Heh, good, 'cause Snowpoint Temple is a place of hard Knockdowns and no mercy, so ya best be prepared for trouble, unless you want it to double!"

"*Shrugs* Don't share the same luck as you do, fortunately, so I won't be compounding your woes there. When something bad does happen to me, though....."

The bristly blacksmith's hands clench into fists, and his gazes darkens as he recalls a particular moment of his life.

"....Its always the fucking worst thing possible. Tch......"

"*Sighs* Maybe ya right, but that ain't going to stop it from bothering me like Diam when she's hungry or wanting attention. Their shenanigans may not be screwing around in our lives, but it may very well cause conniptions or worse in theirs, and that's what bugs me 'sides the usual foolishness and piss-poor attitude and upbringing most youngsters these day have in abundance. "Have you heard any rumors spreading around Snowpoint about what's going on?  And have you told anyone about what you've seen while you've been here?  I imagine the city will notice soon enough if they haven't yet, but I need to gauge the current situation and report back to the League on it."

Ran shakes his head at their questions.

"Nope. Haven't heard a peep about what's brewing in Mt. Coronet like prison wine, and I haven't discussed anything I've seen with anyone."

Now, you might be wondering if the midget man is lying to Rowan, since he had pretty much blew the whistle on the whole mystery to Candice in order to gain access to Snowpoint Temple, but he isn't. He revealed what he heard and learnt, and spoke about the Murals and the whole situation in general, but not what he'd seen. Puck would be proud of his interpretation of the good old professor's question, he would.

As for why he answered like that, it's pretty simple: he doesn't want to piss off Rowan again with the truth and he wants to keep the info secret so that Miss Jackie Frost doesn't get swathed in red tap by Rowan/The League and prevented from running her own investigations/counter measures, in case and regardless if he and his co-workers succeed or fail in their job. While not afraid of them, he doesn't really want to anger them much more for practical reasons, and the more people in power/with resources that were working this case, the better, screw the secrecy and clock 'n dagger bullshit.

Oh heavens, not again these Snover - Kee's having the feeling that whenever there is an option to mention them and therefor unintentionally reminding him on how the-heck-much they annoyed him + how they froze a good portion of his Pokemon cold-heartedly, it's chosen with sinister glee and delight. Excalibur-face pretty accurately depicts how much he's annoyed by that, but thanks to Octavia's calming presence there in his lap, he manages to answer somewhat normally towards Prof.Rowan. "Nope, didn't bother do catch any of these vivid pine trees, professor. Why would I catch a Pokemon that I don't like and that doesn't like me either? I rather keep as much distance from these more agressive exemplars as I can, as otherwise I can't guarantee that I won't let Core show 'em his pyrotechnics." Oh... He already finshed his drink, but because it's late he restrains from getting himself another one. (Good boy.)

Humm, the question about rumors catches his interest somewhat more. "Uh... Didn't tell anyone anything 'bout that topic, but I've been at a bar downtown before you arrived here. You hear a lot of things at places like that, intentionally or not." (Did he hear any rumors while he was there? GM's discretion, I guess.)

Oh yeah, Kee heard something while he was at the bar, despite being buzzed at the time due to the alcohol he was consuming.  Seems that the group encountering that swarm of Snover earlier wasn't the first time it happened.  Someone in the bar claimed to have barely escaped from a swarm of more aggressive than usual Snover as well.  However, nobody seemed to be listening to them since Snover aren't usually aggressive nor roam in large groups.

Professor Rowan then looks at Kee, having just thought of something.  "Kee, do you not have pokemon that are able to comfortably handle Ice types?  Given you're from regions with warmer climates and don't travel a lot, this climate must be rather intolerable both in and out of battle, no?"

Professor Rowan puts a hand on the briefcase he carried in.  "It just so happens that I have a few pokemon stored in this briefcase that I was using for some research.  However, if you can promise to take good care of them, I can afford to give one to you as a gift if desired.  I've been studying them to see how they adapt to living in colder climates.  What they eat, how they evolve, how they handle the many Ice types that live in this area...the research has certainly been quite interesting, and some of the results have been rather surprising, in fact."

When Prof.Rowan looks at musical rave-trainer, he returns that gaze for short and then proceeds to stroken and pet the shining, sleeping and purring furball on his lap. Doing so covers his hand more and more in fairy dust, but he doesn't seem to mind that at all and still does so as he answers the good professor in a pretty neutral, almost rueful voice. "....Depends how you'd define 'intolerable' and 'comfortably handle Ice Types'. Wherever I've been sent to live, the sea was close and there was always a chilling and salt-tanged breeze, but snow and an actual winter can't compare to this. The Pokemon under my care rarely ever, if at all, directly faced an Ice Type apart the cases challengers in the Gym bring one along and request to fight that quiet n' colorful technician aka me before being allowed to face Roxie herself." ヽ(ー_ー )ノ "...Doesn't happen too often that both these chances come together."

The offer to actively gift him a 'Mon though very neatly awoke Kee's interrest, now he's facing the good prof,  now we're talking!! "Oh, is that so?~ *smug smile* Weeeeeeeell..... *overly dramatic break* Pokemon I am assigned to nurture and foster are in good hands, ESPECIALLY if they've been gifts. N... Now that ya mention it, ALL of my Pokemon on hand have been gifted to me by a close person or, more generally, ended up under my care without me actively searching for them in the intention to catch 'em...." He scratches the back of his head, appearantly never having thought of this until now. "So, eh.... Up to you whether you're comfortable to let me have one of your researchmon or not. But...." He displays a charming and alluring smile, not in that degree he gifted Karen before, but more one that's purpose it is to soft-manipulate the opposite into doing what he wants. "...do tell me which species you've got and whether they're obediant if ya don't mind....~ Anything toxic, or anything that'd suit me?~~"

Karen would also offer the Snover that she caught for Rowan to study, though she still has an interest in trying to raise it.
