[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
"Ah, excellent.  Exactly what I was hoping to see, Karen and Kogeki.  In exchange for two of those Snover (one from each trainer), I can give each of you either $2000 or trade a pokemon of equivalent rarity.  Would either of you be convinced to part with them in exchange for one of those things?"

Snover are quite common in this area, so Professor Rowan can't offer one of the pokemon in the briefcase in exchange for a Snover.  When Rowan says 'equivalent rarity', he means that he can trade most pokemon native to Sinnoh that can be considered common (Snover are common to this area) or uncommon (Snover only live in the coldest parts of the region, and can thus be tricky to find elsewhere).  Refer to the Sinnoh Pokedex for a list eligible pokemon.  As long as it can be justified as being common to a certain area or common/uncommon in the Sinnoh region as a whole, Professor Rowan can trade one of them for a Snover. If there's a particular Sinnoh native pokemon you want to have in those bounds, this is a good opportunity to get one!

------------------------------------------------------

To Kee (@PhantomUnderYourDesk):

"I'll let you and the pokemon be the judge of whether they're a suitable fit for you.  Nothing toxic, but they are all obedient...for the most part.  I can't make any guarantees after they've evolved, obviously."

Professor Rowan opens the briefcase and lets Kee take a look at the contents.  Inside it are three pokeballs.

"These three pokemon have all adapted to living in colder environments in their own ways.  If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask."

A Note for the rest of the party: It is also possible for the rest of the group to negotiate trading for the 2 experimental pokemon that Kee does not pick.  However, these pokemon are quite rare and valuable.  Professor Rowan is going to be hanging around Snowpoint for obvious reasons though, so if you happen to catch a rare pokemon that Rowan might be interested in studying/gather enough funds to outright purchase one, there'll be opportunities in Day 2 to work something out with the Professor.

Hummmmm.... Octavia awakes from her peaceful slumber in her most, moooooost beloved caretaker's lap just the right time to join in looking at these offered Pokemon inside the suitcase; and Kee would be a horrible attachment figure to his feline girl if he'd deny her taking a look too. That, and if she's gonna get a companion that'll get a share of his attention and affection, she damn-hard has a say in this matter, oh yes she has !!!!

She sniffs and gazes at every Pokeball, touches them with a spakling paw just to see how they react. In the end, it's the one containing that Grotle that she seems most interested in, which....isn't that much of a suprise given she's not very fond of either fierly nor steely companions. Using her ribbons, she picks the Ball containing that Grotle up and demonstratively places it into Kee's open hand, then looks at him directly and expectantly. ( ̄^ ̄)☆ "Oh, that one's your pick...?~" He can't help but to laugh in a quite delighted and melodic manner. "That's....the one that caught the biggest part of my curiosity as well. Hehe..." What follows, is praise and TLC for shiny Sylveon in such a sugary-sweet manner that it makes one catch tooth decay just from looking at it for too long - (I'll spare you the details though)

Taking some time to watch that turtle inside their Ball, he eventually perks up to indeed propose a question to the good professor. "Sooooo, professor.... *facing him directly* If it's really fine with you, I'll probably take this Grotle if I may - UNDER ONE CONDITION: I'll take it with me into the temple tomorrow to see how it gives itself, how it battles and, most importantly, how it behaves around me and my other Pokemon - 'Cuz if this snowy turtle obviously doesn't get along with them, me or at worst both, I won't bother to keep them under my care. At all. There either IS some chemistery between me and the Pokemon I care for or there IS NOT, there's no grey area in between. Does that....make sense to ya, professor?"

He awaits Rowan's answer before continuing. "Will you be around this place tomorrow so that I can let ya know how things are...? I'll gladly keep this exemplar if it's all rainbows, sunshine and happy pills between me and this particular Grotle; if there isn't I'll return 'em to you. Sounds good?"

If Prof.Rowan accepts, Kee would either scan that extraordinaire Grotle with his Pokedex or run the program on his laptop that fulfills the exact same purpose, depending what's faster, because he's curious like a small boy on Christmas what moves it might know. (This is playing an important role whether I'll accept this 'Mon or not outta-chara as well.)

"This Grotle easily underwent the most changes out of the three pokemon upon evolving from a typical Turtwig, due to having to heavily adapt to survive in the harsh climate.  They much prefer using their Thick Fat Ability so they have an easier time against the many Ice types that live here.  If you wish to take them with you to the Snowpoint Temple tomorrow on a test run, that is fine.  I'll be wandering around Snowpoint, running various errands.  I'll be making periodic stops at the Pokemon Center, though, so you should be able to find me here at some point in the day if you need me before we get our things together for the trip to Mt. Coronet."

"Was there anything particularly odd or special about that Sneasel when you encountered them?  They're fairly common around here, though not as common as Snover are."

"He seems more smart than most Sneasel of his species. He is also more Insightful if you know what I mean. He was also the leader of a gang of two other Sneasel."

"Hmmmm...a Sneasel that was leading a small pack?  That is rather unusual...if you wish to trade them to me, then I'll give you either $3000 or an uncommon pokemon in exchange. Or we can work something out for both Snover and Sneasel if you wish."

Your pick of which pokemon if you pick that over the money, as long as it's justifiable as uncommon and native to Sinnoh.  If you pick a pokemon that can normally be considered common, they'll be guaranteed to have a comparable Surprise to Sneasel's.

You could also trade both Sneasel and one Snover for an Uncommon Sinnoh native Pokemon of your choice with a guaranteed Surprise comparable to Sneasel's. The two of them aren't valuable enough for one of the experimental Sinnoh Starters, though, even when traded together.

Humm.... Kee proceeds to watch that snowy Grotle dwelling there within their Ball with growing interest, he doesn't face Prof.Rowan as he answers and seems more absent-mindedly as he does, probably because he's whispering some introducing words to that snowy turtle already. "Yeah, I'd guess so, professor.... Being a Grass Type among ice and snow must be hard, and it did a wonderful job to adapt to it all. It's surely looking neat in that white color.... Does it grow berries or fruit just like an ordinary Grotle does?"

"Yes, it does.  I believe they're the same kind of berries that Snover can sometimes grow, in fact.  An interesting adaptation for sure.  I'm uncertain if it will retain that trait after evolving into a Delta Torterra, however."

"Hmm...wh wh about Shiny A-Geodude? It's not common in this region, is shiny, and even has Galvanize."

"Also, what kind of Pokemon I can get trading Sneasel and Snover? I have both a female and male ones."
