[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery

Given that none raised their hand and screamed 'Here!' about the second Berry Pot the professor offered, Kee eventually took that one - he has adapted his grandparent's preferance for healing Status Alignments with Berries and Pokemon Moves instead of with these human-made medicine, so that actually comes in handy. Up in his room while waiting for his laptop to boot, he carefully planted a Ranc Berry into it - Yurei watches with interest and silent delight. (How long does it roughly take until a new Berry can be harvested @Dragonstrike, is any special care required?)

What he also does is summoning that new Grotle in his care - he does not do more than leaving her food and water at the moment though. She shall get used to his presence at her own pace while he is busy there at his laptop. Being a nightowl surely's coming in handy as after having received a PORTABLE PC invented by BILL himself(!!!), he definitely does not yet feel like sleeping!~

All Pokemon's Abilities stay the same. Delta Grotle's will be Thick Fat indeed.

When our local musician and colorful Trainer-guy eventually wakes up, he immediately feels like just staying here in bed and not even consider going outside. It's way too cozy and it's way too early, and he's suffering fron slight headaches. 'Slight', he has had worse and this doesn't feel like anything a 500mg pill of aspirin©, and extra-glass of water and Octavia's Heal Bell can't cure. But, he'll abstain from blasting some hardcore vibes into his head via headphones, at least for half the day. What's bothering him more is that he actually can't clearly remember HOW and WHEN he turned in for the night, the last thing he does remember is that sweet feeling of having made it to synchronize the Box-Viewer on his laptop with this special portable-PC-watch. He can't retrieve Pokemon from his laptop like he can with this watch - but it auto-updates itself now everytime a change either in his party or his assigned PC Boxes is made. Oh.... He should have taken that watch off during the night probably, damnit.

Eventually though, he somehow DOES make it out of bed more because he has to than because he wants to, before making his way down the Lobby he just watches the hailstones crashing into the street from the window of his room for a little and turns towards that snowy turtle the good professor has given into his care yesterday evening. He gets down to be on/around eye level with her and speaks in a gentle tone. "Well, good mornin', you... Having made yourself a home here? You know who I am as I told you yesterday evening, and I know who YOU are as well. Stay with me, listen to me - or not, I won't force ya to do so ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌ - and see how we work out together, shall we? We'll be heading to some snowy place together...."

"....But before that, eat and enjoy." Kee offers that Delta Grotle one Ranc Berry and a handful of Gourmet Food, curious to see whether she takes food from the hand. "Y'also need a name. Yesyes, you do need one even if you'd be to make your way back to the professor...." He looks and watches that special turtle for a while, mumbling more to himself that to them. "You surely are pretty in that white color... It's reminding me on colder nights, that chilling fresh breeze and that pleasant silence when stepping out of a noisy place. ....Juhani, that will be your name now. I like that ring - sounds good to ya too?"

How long it takes to grow a small berry bush/tree in the berry pots depends on the berry being planted.  A Leppa Berry, for example, takes 24 hours to grow.  A Ranc Berry...I'll say that will also take 24 hours to grow.

Yeah, all trainers will get 1 xp as well at the start of the new day.

When Kee synchronized the Portable PC with his laptop's record of his PC, he noticed something odd: before he synchronized it with the PPC, his laptop was initially displaying an error message:

But as soon as Kee linputs his trainer ID and password into the PPC and syncs it with his laptop, his laptop started to display the data as normal again.  There doesn't seem to be any sign of the error returning, either.

Delta Grotle, being Naughty natured, initially doesn't want to take the food from Kee.  This is a pokemon that's proven that they can survive on their own, that they don't need help from outside sources.

However, having also survived in the harsh, cold climate of Sinnoh's frozen north and being a smart cookie, they also don't want to turn down free food when it's being offered to them.

And being a Grotle, they don't have any Disobedience (yet), so yes, Grotle will (reluctantly) take the food from Kee's hand.  Then she back offs into a corner of the room, jealously guarding her valuable nutrition.

When Kee suggests the nickname Juhani, Delta Grotle looks up from her snack and at Kee with narrowed eyes...

...

...then she goes back to eating her food, not seeming to react positively or negatively to the nickname.  Seems it doesn't particularly matter to her if Kee gives her a nickname or not.

As promised, Karen shows Rowan a few things Gastrodon seems to be exhibiting first thing for the day.
-The purple goop that he's hyper-secreting
-His Sludge attack
-His Hidden Power

Professor Rowan can definitely meet Karen right away in the morning.  And he's definitely very interested in the traits that Aspid the Gastrodon is exhibiting.

"Curious...he definitely has many of the typical traits of a Poison type...Shellos and Gastrodon are commonly known to have more than a few venomous traits, as are Wooper and Quagsire, but this is certainly quite extreme...could you ask him to demonstrate his Ancient Power, please?"

Assuming Karen does, nothing about the Ancient Power seems to be out of the ordinary this time.

"...strange.  How did he learn that move, out of curiosity?  That's not a move that Shellos and Gastrodon are able to typically learn from what I know."

"I took a quick trip to the Battle Zone here to tutor him the move."

"I see...well, I'll do a little research into what might have happened to trigger Shellos evolving into this poisonous Gastrodon.  I'm not sure what the black light you saw might have indicated, but definitely keep a careful eye out for any more strange happenings.  I doubt that will be the last of them, particularly if whatever we're investigating does happen to be affecting Snowpoint Temple as well."

Day 2

After that and a round of breakfast for himself/his Pokemon (+ a stern scolding for his troublemakers, bah!), the bristly blacksmith goes to the Nurse Joy and asks if she knows where he can find Neuro Sensors for sale in Snowpoint, or at least give him a location he can start looking for them. He got sidetracked in his hunt/search for parts to build Kogeki's Robo Prosthetic, but he won't let that happen again so easily!

Before leaving the Center, his current line up of Pokemon are Diam, Beethoven, Brigid, Stymph, and Mystery Mons 1 and 2 on his team. Brigid will have her Charcoal replaced with a Fire Gem, Stymph will get Zorn's Life Orb, Mystery Mon 1 (B) will get Puck's Leftovers, and Mystery Mon 2 (S) will get the Rocky Helmet. Everyone but Zorn will and maybe Brigid will keep the Abilities they had yesterday for today, with Zorn getting to try out Rough Skin today and Brigid switching to White Smoke if and only if Drought would not work inside Snowpoint Temple (If that be the case, I'd be severely disappointed that realism had reared its ugly head here, but I'll live with it).

Next, he heads back to the jewelry store, and picks up the Alman Bangle and Dragon Gem Bling her ordered if possible (Or checking up on it if not). He'll send Byron his gift ASAP, while he keeps Zorn's gift to himself for now. He'll wait until later to give it to the scaled terror, right when they're in the most receptive mood for gift giving (and not liable to snap at him irritably).

Finally, he'll head to Snowpoint Temple, and either wait for anyone that wanted to join him to get there already, or heading straight in if they tagged along with him for the whole time. Old Wolfe would walk straight up the guard and look him sternly/seriously in the eyes, and plainly, concisely, but not impolitely say thus:

"Name's Randolph Schimdt. Here to investigate Snowpoint Temple with my partners *Jerks a thumb back at them*. Got permission from Candice to do so. We cleared for entry?"

Nurse Joy is stern as usual, but she's at least polite as long as nobody's causing a scene in her Pokemon Center.

"Neuro Sensors?  Well, I can't say I've seen very many of them.  Robotic prosthetics are very new technology.  I believe the Creshire region is where most of them are produced at the moment.  That being said, I did have a shipment of them coming in later today...I had to import them, though, so I can't really sell them.  I don't know a whole lot about robotics myself, but some of my interns have been studying this new technology.  Provided you have the time to assist them, I could let you use some of the stock we ordered.  This is for your companion with the wooden arm, I take it?"

The female Ace Trainer standing at the door doesn't stand in Randolph's way.  "Ah, so you're the guy that Candice mentioned yesterday in that writ.  Yeah, you're cleared for entry.  You going in by yourself, or are you waiting on anyone?  I need to keep track of who goes in and out before I can let anyone in."

Since you specifically said Abilities had to be decided before the first Encounter was started, but Ran is currently outside the Temple and therefore has not yet started his First Encounter, he'll also has them if Weather like Harsh Sunlight works inside the ancient place. If he says no or doesn't know, then Brigid's Ability will be White Smoke, as I rather have an Ability that I know will work all the time than gamble with one that won't.

The guard looks confused at this question.  "Does weather work in the Snowpoint Temple?  Uh...no, it normally doesn't.  Why are you asking?  Does this have something to do with the strange wind I've been hearing howling in the lower levels while standing guard here all day yesterday?"

While Kogeki was testing his new portable PC he was with all his Pokemon with him: Including Hime-no-Hachi who once again leave to Dragonstrike introduce. He begin to make a research of his own. "Hmm, so to get access to the Snow temple, we need to beat the Gym Leader...she has a strong ice types, and even a Medidite with Ice Punch. This will requires strong strategy."

"Susano'o. You will be necessary in this battle. You Steel types along with Mega Evolution will be necessary in this battle."

"Izanagi and Izanami. Both of you will be necessary to super effective attacks, deceive and set defenses. Be aware though, she have a Sneasel, so be careful of her Dark-type moves."

"Gama. Abomasnow is the strongest Pokemon of Candice. Your Poison type moves could lend a hand in this battle in case Susano'o or Nagi get fainted. Can I count with you old friend?"

"Heracross. Your Fighting moves is a great weapon against such strong foes, so you are coming too."

"And finally...Hime." Then Kogeki look to his loyal fellow bug Kunoichi (Kunoichi is the name of females ninjas). "You will act as our last resort. Candice is a strong Ice Gym Leader, and Ice type is one of your weakness...but I know we can beat her. Dont forget you also have Final Gambit, so in case the situation prove difficult, we gonna gamble with such move. Can I count with you?"

As a reminder, Randolph did say that he can bring other trainers with him to the Temple.  Karen can as well.  Beating the Gym Leader isn't necessary to access Snowpoint Temple if at least one of those two is with you.

However, fighting a Gym Leader as tough as Candice will probably still be good training for what's ahead!

Susano'o is as stoic and assured as usual.  Ice Types hold no power over him.

Nagi is very calm and collected.  This battle should be a breeze for him.

Nami's feathers are still a little ruffled from yesterday.  It's impossible to tell right now whether she's going to cooperate.

Gama is coolly leaning up against the wall, waiting for the action to start.

Heracross rolls his eyes, not very impressed.  Ice types?  Please.  What a joke.  He eats Ice types for breakfast. (not really, though.)

Hime (who is a Ninjask who's almost never sitting still) is very nervous, understandably.  But if Kogeki needs her assistance, then she won't hesitate to provide it.  She won't fail him.

When Kogeki enters the Gym, the Gym Guide waves him down as he did with everyone else.  "Oh hey, I can't say I've seen you in a Pokemon Gym before.  Welcome!  Is this going to be your first Gym Badge?  Well, if you're here to challenge the Gym Leader, she's more than ready to accept challengers!"  He turns around and waves to the pedestal at the other end of the ice rink.

"Oh, another challenger for Candice?  Send them on over then!  Candice can't wait to meet them!"

Athletics: (1)(2)(6)(1)(4)(6)(4) Kogeki manages to get to the opposite side of the gym without slipping just fine.  There's a moment where it looks like he might slip, but he manages to recover and make it look natural enough.  Nothing super impressive, but it isn't clumsy, either.

Canidce smiles and holds out a hand to the ninja, offering a handshake.  "Hiya!  If you're here to face Candice, you're in the right place!  Candice's pokemon are all healed up and ready to go!  And what's your name, if Candice may ask?"

Karen heads out into the city, looking for a battle!  Or does the battle find her?  That depends on who she's going to end up battling!

Ran chews over to intell offer of the frosty Joy (Such an ironic and oximoronic combination, that is!) for a short time, before giving her a few short nods.

"Hmm....that so? *Nods* Figured as much, since I've never heard of the blimey tech 'fore yesterday, but it's nice to get the confirmation. *Nods* I do, and I'm willing to help too. Not too well verse in the high tech myself, but years of hard work, education, and experience has given me a Smart Strike sharp mind and Skilled hands, so figuring them do-dads out shouldn't be an too ostentatious. *Nods* Yeah, it is. Want to give him a working arm ASAP, 'cause having only one of them ain't going to cut it for him, with the job we have to do. That, and he deserves it, and if I Craft a fine and worthy replacement to the arm he lost, then I'm damn well going try doing so."

Yeap, the dwarven craftsman is still adamant as ever in helping out his ninjas co-worker/friend! Kinda remarkable, since he hardly knows them/has little reason to like/respect/do stuff for them for free, but I guess it goes to show that he's not as much of a grouchy hardass as first thought of! 

(First Encounter going to helping the Nurse's Interns out! I need to get those Neuro Sensors for the Robo Prosthetic fast, as the sooner I get them, the sooner I can have Ran gather the rest of the materials and build the dang thing + get Kee to program it and THEN get it safely attached to Kogeki by a professonal! In other words, a LOT of stuff! Ran's going to be busy for awhile, eh?)

With her consent, Kogeki take her brush and brush her feathers. Hey, at least he is trying to make things peaceful!

Kogeki used his agility of a ninja to avoid slip. When he almost fall he double his efforts and jump in the front of Candice.

When she ask for names, he give his answer. "Kogeki. Kogeki Kurayami from Tandor."

So, concerning the first Encounter, Kee just ends up strolling through the town without any particular aim in mind. That hail he doesn't seem to mind too much as long as he doesn't expose himself too long for their assault - means, he likes that weather, but he prefers to watch it while being safe under a tree or roof. Juhani however looks like she's enjoying this weather with every leaf on her shell, chasing hailstones and jumping through the snow. Neither Octavia nor Kee himself seem to encouraged to join however, but it's almost heartwarming to observe.

This time he's also prepared for this harsh weather, means the chance that he'll freeze to semi-death, shall he get stuck at a cold place again that is, are lower. Much lower thankfully. His today's clothing style doesn't involve the shining colors of a rainbow luckily, but it still hasn't lost its flashy attitude and electronic/glowsticky aspect.

EDIT: Eh, he just left his electric guitar in the room in the Center.

After not long, he ends up.....

......at the port. The salt-tanged sea breeze was too alluring for him to not follow as it reminds on home. Home.....!~

What a neat opportunity to people-watch and dwell in memories, and to see whether here he can find a very own Fire Type, it'd be a decent idea probably since the trip to the Temple neither to the Mountain will lead to any warmer places. A breedject would be enough already, at best even....well, something that'd suit him. Something small. Oh yeah, a Salandit! Hah, he's sure Roxie would be proud of him if he'd return with one of these lizards able to poison even Steel Types. That is, she'd praise him for that 'Mon AFTER she'd be done knocking the stuffing out of him for being absent for so long without saying a word.
A Vulpix would also be neat as another option, they're also pretty beautiful. Who cares whether this would be another girlish Pokemon under his care!! Kee certainly does not, and he'll personally hunt those down who mock him for that.

The problem is - well, that he has no Pokemon he could offer in return, and he can't spent all his cash now as he'll need supplies for the upcoming trip. BUT, maybe he could arrange a trade with someone and search for something to offer within the temple? He keeps that Delta Grotle out of her Ball, partly to have her enjoy the weather as stated above and to let her act as a subtle conversation starter with Breeders and/or Collectors. Octavia per usual is present as well - and oh boy, a shiny Sylveon isn't something you'd see everyday~~
