As Nathan walks past Ventus, he says one more thing: "...nobody should have to try so hard to be a hero, Ventus. Or even have to be one in the first place, really. I never asked to be put in the position I'm in.
"And it's Nathan, not Nate."
He continues walking and pulls out a Burn Heal to cure the burned Tangrowth. The League would figure out what to do with these pawns. A pokemon was a pokemon, no matter how strong. And there are very, very few truly evil, completely irredeemable pokemon in the world.
Besides, the League would have to hold back these vines themselves in all likelihood. They needed to be prepared to do so.
Kirlia gives Aspis a pretty nasty looking glare. He might not be in any condition to fight right now, but that didn't mean he was going to tolerate any hostility towards Nathan.

Kirlia gives Aspis a pretty nasty looking glare. He might not be in any condition to fight right now, but that didn't mean he was going to tolerate any hostility towards Nathan.
The researcher stiffened at the boy comment, and clenched his hands so hard that, were it not for his innate toughness they would start bleeding, before they lowly whispered to them: "........I'm not a hero, Nathan. Far from it. Far, far from it. Still, I just want to help people despite everything, even when it does nothing but harm me and others, when I am so suited to do the exact opposite. Heroes save people. I can't, despite my hardest efforts. Hilarious, isn't?" He says no more than this, but the slight bitter grin on his face speaks volumes.
Apsis returns the fae dancer's withering look with a haughty, defiant one of their own, daring them to start something with them. Type advantage or not, the queen snake was bigger, meaner, and more viscous than he'll ever be, and could destroy them if they ever provoked it to do so. It best well remember that, *Hiiiissss.....*

Kirlia doesn't do anything except glare. He'd be strong enough one day to beat down opponents as tough as Aspis. Today just wasn't that day. Ferocity comes packaged in all sorts of shapes and sizes, after all...for now, though, he would rest.
Nathan has to recheck and redo the wrappings around Kirlia's ankle now. It's a decent time killer while waiting for the authorities to show up, at least...

Tangrowth Encounter Round 2
Valder uses a Potion: Piloswine now has 5/7hp.
Helping Hand
(6)(4)(5)(1)
Azurill does a flip and a squeak to cheer on Cottonee!
Night Slash 1
(1)(2)(3)(3)(1)(4) Again, Lucky Chant saves the day. Calam separates some of the vines from their fellows, clearing a path for Swiftfire and Apsis to race down.
Acid Spray 1
(4)(6)(5)(6)(3)
Apsis destroys a large section of vines directly around the pearl, but they're growing back already where Calam cut them! The acid does a pretty good job of "cauterizing" the vines where it hits.
Haneal follows Apsis, granting cover. He also launches an Ember at Tangrowth C, already burned.
Ember 1
(3)(2)(1)(6)(1)
(6)(4) Tangrowth C takes 3 dmg. 1/10hp -3 pain.
Claydol performs another of its special Rock Slides, moving slightly to find another good spot.
Rock Slide 1, targeting Piloswine, Azurill, Cottonee, and Calam.
(5)(2)(1)(4)(4)
(6)(3) They each take 1 dmg.
Flinch: (3)(5)(3)
A Tangrowth slides its arms sharply into play on Apsis' hood, setting the necklace a-jiggle.
Knock Off 1
8 dice, -1 pain, -2 actions = 5 dice
(6)(5)(3)(6)(4)
(6) Apsis takes 1 dmg and loses the Serene Necklace. 13/15hp.
It lands in the area already cleared, so it will be easy to obtain after the battle.
The wounded one seeks sustenance from Piloswine again.
Megadrain 1
7 dice, -2 actions, -3 pain = 2 dice
(4)(6)
3 Str + 2 power +1 STAB -3 vit = 3d6+1
(6)(1)(3) Piloswine takes 2 dmg 2/7hp. Tangrowth now has 2/10hp.
Rose scales the cliff to launch a perfect, spiraling Flame Wheel. (Since Rose doesn't know Fire Spin yet, and doesn't have the XP to learn it, I'm assuming you meant Flame Wheel.)
Flame Wheel 1
(2)(3)(2)(6)(3)
3 Str + 2 power +1 STAB -4 vit = 2d6+1
(6)(2) Tangrowth C faints.
Burn: (6) Also, it's on fire! The vines it was shepherding retreat entirely.
Rose flings ash about triumphantly.
Flame Charge 1
(6)(6)(6)(4)(1)
Swiftfire maintains a very clear path to the pearl. With those actions defending it, there won't be any need to spend an actual action eating it or getting to it.
Cottonee levitates a bit higher to get in range of Claydol. She needs to be close enough that she can suck energy across the distance, but luckily she does not need contact.
Mega Drain
(6)(5)(4)(4)(1)(6)(6) Critical hit!!
9 dice, -3 vit = 6d6+1
(1)(4)(4)(5)(1)(4) That deals a lucky 5 dmg to Claydol. 3/8hp
Cottonee is fully healed.
Powder Snow 1
6 dice, -2 pain, -2 actions = 2 dice
(6)(4)
(6)(5)(6) Tangrowth takes 4 dmg. 4/10hp
Freeze: (2)
Helping Hand
(5)(2)(1)
Calam is not needed on the vines, so he goes for Tangrowth.
Night Slash 2
(6)(4)(4)(6) Crit.
(3)(3)(1)(5)(6)(4) Tangrowth is barely hanging on with 1hp.
Acid Spray 2
(5)(5)(1)
(4)+ Tangrowth D Faints
Apsis chokes down the Clamperl Pearl. She makes a face of immense distaste. You can see a slight bulge where it's working its way through her body.
Haneal razes the vines back, giving the party plenty of time to decide what to do with all these Tangrowth. Claydol is out of reach of these embers and they wouldn't be very effective anyway.
Speaking of Claydol...it uses Teleport.
Teleport
8 dice, -2 actions = 6 dice
(5)(3)(5)(4)(4)(1) Yep, it's gone! (Definitely counts as defeated though). You cannot see where Claydol went at all. However, surveying the remnants of the battlefield and the Skull Ruins, you can see that the vines have not stopped growing over the Ruins. They've given up on the path for now, it seems.
Patrolling one of the distant walls of the Skull Ruins, you can see another Tangrowth. Plus one more scaling a wall of moving vines. They are tiny at this distance.
Everyone gets 5XP to distribute among your Pokemon, and 7Xp for themselves for their heroic actions defending the path!
In the destruction of Tangrowth flesh, you each find one Common/Uncommon Berry of your choice (so it CANNOT be Aspear, Lum, or Sitrus). These half-formed berries will need one full day to ripen properly.
Let me know how you as a party handle the Tangrowth. Minimum XP bid is 1. 2 of them have lethal afflictions that will soon kill them if not treated. You can assume the vines will not return here today.
(Sorry the delay people! I come home late and have a headpache. I enter a little to know what happening but only could post today.)
After that battle, Heart make a quick search in the remaines of the Tangrowth and find a Chesto Berry. Never know when you will need one. He didnt respond the argue between Ventus and Nathan. He is gladly to know Ventus didnt kill the Tangrowth. "Well, uh, I think we should get going. We should enter the city and find any information about what happening.

Nathan sighs at that comment, but doesn't turn away from Kirlia as he responds. "You don't want to know what's happening."
That's all he says.

...That Claydol must have somewhat noticed that Ultra Ball Shiva was already preparing to deal with that pesky Pokemon once it has been defeated, or it was simply a coward to rather flee after taking a hit from her faithful fluffball and seeing how its subjects (the Tangrowth) are not too much of a threat for the group as a whole. Whatever it was, what was it thinking was he imitating, that ancient King with his team of Legendaries?! Hmpf... Guess that Claydol-Kingdol made itself an enemy in Shiva.
Now that it was gone though and seeing that her travel companions ahave already delt with the Tangrowth well enough without her he... Wait, wrong phrasing! ...Their Pokemon managed to defeat these Tangrowth while she was busy with their assumed Leader, Shiva now had the chance to put a the thing in action she wanted to do right away as she saw them using Knock Off: Retrieving her Pokemon's items. Motioning both Cottonee and Azurill to follow her, the search began, as both Helios' spoon and Kyuu's beloved Apricon can't be THAT far away...
Indeed, with the help of Cottonee's Fairy Wind blowing over the grass to leave sparkles over the spoon - pretty much like she already did to help the Fortune Hunter collect the pieces of duskglass back in Corsage - Helios soon had his item back; while with his Kinesis and Litwick's ability to pass through solid objects and act as a light source they made it to retrieve the pink Apricorn from the crevice it fell in. Just as Shiva was to hand it back to the psychic cat though, she noticed that he was nibbling on something pink already. "Kyuu, we found back your... wait, where did you got that Ranc Berry from? Eh... Well, doesn't matter, enjoy it. Here, also for you." He must have found a berry bush somewher nearby, or it was growing in that Tangrowth? Anyway, with an appreciating smile, she handed him his Apricron nut back to hid somewhere in his grey fur. Or start staring at it in awe again.
Now with that successfuly done and retrieving all of her Pokemon into their safe Pokeballs, back to the party... But the sights she got from her spot STARTLED her. It wasn't hard at all to see that Nathan and Ven have gotten at each other again, probably because what she already believed would come sooner or later: The killing of these Tangrowth. It seemed like leaving them alone NOW was a bad decision... Oh, how innocent she was over what has happened between them in the short time.
In a rather quick and somewhat still graceful movement, she was right there where the others were, and directly entangled both of her arms around one of Ventus', staying just there close to his side before looking up to him in a glance that would make an Eevee training a sad variant of Baby-Doll-Eyes proud and awestruck. "Ven, dear... " Whoops, she didn't wanted to say this... "I won't even ASK what has happened, but I expect you to explain to me later in a neutral viewpoint, once we arrived in Stair. I see you're exhausted, frustrated and whatelse, or in short just not okay... So whatever it is, the area has been cleared, you must be tired, Nathan must be tired, all of our Pokemon could use some healing... *very careful held back sniffle* So, could please BOTH OF YOU let it be for the rest of path to get the remaining little bit that seperates us from the city done?"
------------
Mechanics:
Ranc Berry for Kyuu, Tangrowth dealt with already, Shiva disappointed over things in the party bad again, so up to Stair City is it.

Oh, another thing:
At one of these neat All Weather PCs, she also swapped out Braixen for that elusive Poochyena.

As I understand it there are three stabilized Tangrowths left lying here, and the party is ready to move on to the City?
