[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
... ... ...

You should have listened.

You should have listened to Ventus and take the longer but safer way.

You should have not accepted the RV ride with the others.

...

THIS IS YOUR FAULT.
YOU FAILED.

Something deep inside Shiva must have cracked. Something she didn't know existed at all. Nathan's words seemed miles away, although he was speaking just next to her. She tried hard not to... She fought it as best as currently possible...

... but she lost that battle as well. Her tears fell completely silent, innocently, although they were filled with an unbelievable amount of bitterness over the situation and her failure to protect what she held dear.

She gladly accepted the blanket from Belle, without words, and carefully wrapped it around her injured companion. She'll hold on to Plusle, all by herself, untill the end if needed. Wordlessly she picked up Minun, who seemed relatively unharmed, and allowed her to cuddle up to both, her positively-charged counterpart and her Master/owner/playmate. Must be worried as hell. She carefully laid the long end of the tartan scarf she still wore around the Electric rodent, shielding it from any harm. Like if she was afraid to loose the other one as well.

...Does this belong to a Trainer's life? Is it usual to face such a thing when calling yourself a 'Trainer'? Is it part of the routine? Does it belong to some sort of learning process? Is such an experience necessary...? Why?! If the answers were 'Yes', then she doesn't want to be one. None told her that there will be such things. None warned her. All she wanted was to explore the region, given the opportunity, gather some own Pokemon as companions, and care for them. Befriend them. Meet all sorts of Pokemon and people in all sorts of places. But not...this.

Potions... Ah. All she cared about were the toxins. Antidotes won't help here. Antidotes. Poison-Types. It were always the Poison-Types. They're nothing but trouble. Maybe... berries? Not really. Plusle needed professional medical care, in a Pokemon Center, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Nevertheless, she dried some (couldn't stop them all) of her tears before turning to Ventus and telling him in a low and toneless voice that she'll join him on searching for berries and possibly snatch some potions from lurking Trainers. It seemed like the most stupid and irrational idea right now to her - but if it will help her Electric rodent, she'll be up for it. Not going to just sit around and wait, now when they need her the most.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She just went a few meters, following wherever Ventus went on search for aid, when something in the tree next to her rustled. Minun at once concentrated her attention on the spot, ready to jump out of her Master's safe arms to attack if needed. If she wasn't mistaken, this was the same tree where she spotted something that looked like a crow before the Weezing attacked...

---------------
Mechanics:
Bring up that special Murkrow. Minun will tackle it, no matter what, and Shiva will not attempt to catch it either. Her mood will swing to a nasty vengeful one against the attacker.

Ventus gave a worried look to Shiva when she morosely followed after him on his berry hunt. When she immedianlty went after what looked to be a Murkrow in the tree branches, fury clearly evident in her eyes, he grew ever more concerned. 'Dear oh me, she's not taking Plusle's near death well, is she? ...I better find those berries quickly.' After doing a quick perimeter check around the van, Ventus was able to turn an Oran Berry. Immediantly, he man a beeline for the group, taking care to avoid tripping over any plants or Pokémon. 'The last thing I want right now is to fumble my way into a battle, especially since my main fighter is busy with stress relief. Battles can wait until later; I have Oran in hand, so let's treat Shiva's Plusle NOW,' he thought, quickly making his way towards Belle.

Wiping his brow, he took a small breath of air, before saying, "I didn't find any trainers lurking around here, but I managed to scavage an Oran Berry. With your Potion, I should be able to completely repair all the Lethal Damage to Plusle. They'll still be out for awhile, but they should be fine when they wake, if not feeling rathered battered," Ventus reported, before extending a hand outward for the Potion. Presumably receiving it (I can't image these nice Van goers denying a Potion to a Lethally damaged Pokémon, but that's your preog, DM!), he proceed pull out a morter and pestle from his bag, and ground up the Oran Berry into a fine paste. Taking the empty Potion bottle he still had on hand (Littering is bad; don't do it!), he scooped most of the berry paste into it, then uncorked the filled Potion bottle. He then started to add the Potion into the bottle, mixing it with the Oran mess, until it was a homogenous poultice.

Carefully, he started to apply the concoction to the wounds of the Plusle, taking great care not to aggrevate its injuries anymore than he's already doing. Grabbing some bandges from his satchel, he gently wrapped up the worst areas of injuries, before returning the mouse back under the blankets. "There, that should treat the worst of the Explosion Damage, but it'll still be knocked out. I have some leftover Berry Paste for it to eat if need be, but they should be ok after a long rest," Ventus explained to the group, watching carefully after Plusle. Looking pained at the sight of the electric rodent, he just sighed wearily to himself. At this point, he just wants to get to Ginger town ASAP, but he's not going to make much headway about the van without Nathan's help....

(I presume that Shiva, after wrapping him up and cuddling for a bit, left them here to rest rather than go with an  heavily injured Pokémon into a fight. Anything can happen in those battles, after all.... The reason I'm pointing this out is that my post remains 'cannon' with hers. )
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Minun is glad to be near its sleeping buddy as you search for berries, when you hear a croaking human (or humanlike) voice.

Murkrow Round 1

"Thy intellect be much reduced, if thou disturb me in my roost. Craw?" These lines are spoken with one wing draped over a Murkrow's beak.

I'll use Nuzzle as one of the more aggressive moves Minun can make. Charm isn't exactly appropriate to a dark mood.

Murkrow flaps her wings and looks as spooky as possible in the mist.

Murkrow initiative: Dex 1 Survival 3
(4)+4 = 8
Minun intiative:
(1) +2 +1 =4

Pursuit
Accuracy: 1 Dex + 2 Fight + 1 Brawl = 5 dice
(4)(5)(2)(3)(6)
Dmg: 2 Str + 2 Power + 1 STAB - 2 vitality = 3 dice
(6)(3)(1) Minun takes 1 damage as Murkrow hops down from its tree, rushes past Minun with a black energy, then returns to its roost. Chasing after you as you look for berries.

Nuzzle
2 Dex, 0 fight
(6)(1) Hit
Dmg: 1 str, 1 stab, 2 power, -2 vit, 2 dice +1 dmg
(3)(4) +1 Murkrow takes 2 damage and is paralyzed

Minun angrily attacks this aggressor.

Murkrow seems to approve of your dark mood.

Carnivine Round 1

Carnivine:
(6)
Swiftfire:
(2)

Carnivine approaches, drifting closer and closer to the RV as Nathan and Swiftfire rush out to meet it. A long vine snakes out before they quite arrive.

Vine Whip
Acc: 2 dex + 2 fight + 1
(2)(2)(4)(3)(3)
Dmg: 3 str + 2 power +1 STAB - 2vit = 4 dice, -1 resistance, that's pretty awesome
(5)(6)(4)(3) Ponyta takes 2 damage.

Ember
I think this is still 4 dice as it was against Weezing, -1 pain
(2)(5)(6)
Dmg: 2 Str + STAB + 2 power = 5 dice - 2 vit = 3 dice, +1 dmg
(4)(5)(1) Carnivine takes 3 damage. Leaving 4 hp.
Burn: (4)

His leaves wilt under Ponyta's assault.

(Whoahw. A speaking Murkrow. I want to have it.
 ... Too bad Shiva doesn't.)

(Agreeing on giving Plusle into the other party member's care for now. She's not very fond of the idea, but showed some insight in the end before turning towards the crow.)

Murkrow Round 2
Current Battle theme

"SHUT THE HELL UP! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING, GO AND DIE OFF SOMEWHERE IN THE MOUNTAINS!!"

Careful with your words, dear. Must be the malicious side in you showing up. But indeed, weren't Murkrow usually native to the mountainside...?

"Well done, Minun. Now go, keep that DAMN CROW at bay from us and ELECTRIFY IT ONCE MORE!"

Orders for this round: Nuzzle. Again.
Effect: As said, make the crow shut up.
Secondary Effect: Sparks will illuminate the battlefield in the current dark area, giving a creepy yet cool atmosphere.
Pain Penalization: 0 so far.
Accuracy Roll: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight (level-up!) + 0 Allure = 3 dice
Damage Roll: 1 Strenght + 1 Power of move + 1 STAB = 3 dice
Additional notes: 1 Autodamage because super effective.

Nathan grits his teeth when he sees Swiftfire take that heavy hit despite the resistance to it.  This Carnivine was going to be a tough foe.  He gets his potion out, ready to heal her if she takes any more damage.  "Swiftfire, stay close to me so I can heal you if necessary, and keep blasting it with Ember.  We have to keep it away from the RV."

Nathan
Action: Heal Swiftfire with a Potion if she takes more damage.

Swiftfire
Order: Continue using Ember on Carnivine.
Accuracy: 3 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Canalize = 4 D6
Damage: 2 Strength + 2 Power + 1 STAB + Super Effective = 5 D6 + 1 Damage
Pain Penalization at the start of the round: -1

Round 2.

Murkrow starts excitedly moving faster.  He starts by freezing the mists into a Haze attack, nullifying the stat reduction from his paralysis. He vanishes into the sparkling haze, Minun giving chase.
(5)(4)

Minun and Shiva arrive where Murkrow now roosts, on a scraggly tree on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Great River.  The mists are gone here,  swept away by the potency of the river's passage. On the sands below a gigantic symbol has been etched in the sand.  It looks like a sharply angled boomerang,  all rigid lines and sharp corners,  with one half longer than the other. Footprints can be seen ascending the cliff from the beach, heading into the sudden swamp and vanishing.

"The journey begins with maniacal sins."

(5)(3)(6)
(2) +1 1damage to Murkrow. With the two he took earlier he is now more pained, -2. And still paralyzed.

(1)Pursuit misses.

After some coughing due to the haze Murkrow caused, Shiva tried to hold Minun back as it began to pursuit the crow. Bad idea... These species was known to lead hikers into their doom by having them follow.

As fast as Shiva's wrath came, as fast it began to slowly subside. At least The Murkrow shuts up now. Still, her eyes were filled with tears. Now fear has been added as well.

She and her Electric companion stopped as the bird landed as well. Where... where did it lead them? It felt like they followed it just a few minutes, and yet she felt like she has moved miles away from the others and the RV...

But one thing was for sure. This symbol meant nothing good. Shiva never saw it before, in none of the books she ever got in her hands.

"Journey...? Sins? What are you taking about...?" ... "MINUN! Use Quick Attack to get to your opponent and hold on to him where he is - Don't make him get away!"

Orders for this round: Use Quick Attack. But don't inflict Damage! Instead, keep the bird where he is. He shall not faint, nor escape.
Accuracy Roll: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Brawl = 3 dice

As the Carnivine retreats, Nathan calls Swiftfire to a halt. "That's enough, Swiftfire. It knows we're not gonna let it get any closer. It's not going to come back to try again."

Swiftfire was all ready to blast another Ember, and she's slightly disappointed that she didn't get to roast the plant. Blasting that Weezing from afar had been fun, and that Carnivine had made her mad. She'd been enjoying just firing off flame after flame. She stops though, and trainer and pokemon watch the carnivorous grass type retreat into the shadows and mists...

Ralts, meanwhile, is sensing intense anger, pain, sorrow, and fear from Shiva's general direction. The amount of raw emotion present is incredibly overwhelming...
