Karen closes her eyes and shields them with her hand when the red chain is being made, then once they are made, Karen speaks up; "I think it'd be better if we split the gems so each of us, except for one, gets two; the last person getting one."

As the group gets teleported out of the ruins, when Karen sees Gene turn into Mew, her eyes go wide, "Well that's not something you see everyday..."
At Snowpoint:
The first thing that Karen does when the group gets back in the Pokemon Center is order some hot tea *brr*
Then she asks Rowan about "Red chains" and any risks there might be in using one; "According to Mesprit and the other two of the 'Lake trio', these gems, *she shows the gem(s) that she's carrying* can be combined into a 'Red Chain', I was wondering if you could tell us more about this 'chain' and anything we should worry about."

Ran doesn't have much of an objection to splitting up the Gems between everyone, other than *Sighing* and bluntly stating that "Lucas is the toughest nut out of us all, and he's handled the pixies Red Chain or their powers before, from the sounds of it. The Gems would be most safe in his hands, but if ya want to divvy them up, so be it. I'll just give me share to Lucas anyway, and let ya do what you will with yours."

Guess that means the gemstones forming that Red Chain are splitted between us then. Yay!~ Kee'll put his share in the same pocket of his guitar case where he keeps plectra; they won't raise suspicion there and given how hecking-protective he is over that electric guitar of his, the chance that he'll loose these meaningful gemstones is 0.01%. Octavia smiles at them finding them very pretty, if Aya would see them she'd instantly claim them for herself (means, he won't even let the sealion spot them).

Concerning the red light, even with protective eyewear on, it's far too bright to see any specific details. It's almost like looking directly at a bright red star. Up close and personal. That's a (very rough) estimation of just how much light is being output by the creation of the Red Chain.

2 red gemstones are each distributed to Kee, Karen, and Kogeki, while Lucas holds on to 3. You need all 9 to form the complete Red Chain.

Rowan listens to Randolph's story with rapt attention. "...curious...and most disturbing...unfortunately, it sounds like we need to act sooner rather than later, so there isn't enough time to dawdle with the League. I spent long enough already convincing them to let Lucas join us...thank you, by the way, Lucas...so I'm afraid we're on our own at this point."

"It's really not a big deal, Professor. Well, it kinda is, but you know what I mean."

"Hm? Alternate dimensions? Why are you asking about those, if I may ask? In any case, I'm not an expert on the topic. Doctor Fennel from Unova and Professor Burnet from Alola would be better read on the topic than I. There are no shortage of tales concerning the Creation Trio causing such events, though. Dialga and Palkia do control the very fabric of Time and Space according to the legends, after all. It is possible they could be involved in some kind of dimensional shift. Hmmmm...I wonder if that may be why so many strange pokemon have been appearing in Mt. Coronet as of late...it seems like a possibility if something has happened involving Dialga..."

Seems Kee's question has gotten Professor Rowan thinking about the topic for an entirely different reason.

"I do not think there is much more that I can tell you about the Red Chain that the Lake Trio haven't already. Items of that power are not very well documented due to their obvious scarcity throughout recorded human history. Keep it safe, and use it well."

Ran closed his eyes and let out a bone weary *Sigh* to the good professor that somehow carried notes of both frustration, expectation, and resignaiton. "Understatement of the year right there, Professor. Even with the champ with us and the aid from the pixies, it'll be no stroll through Amity Square to see this mystery disaster case to a close. Especially since we'll be on our from here on out, bar the highly possibility of more divine intervention, and double that if we all hope to make it out alive. At the very least. *Sighs* Terrific. Arceas bloody bless it be terrific. If I weren't already dedicated to fixing this mess, and didn't already know that there won't be anyone else that can solve it......."

The dwarven craftsman continues to grumble for a little awhile, before he shook his head lightly and leveled another question at the old gentleman.

"Alright, since we can't expect and probably won't be getting anymore bailout relief from the League, how about I get some from you instead? You got plenty of tough as nails and well trained Pokemon you've been researching, and we got those snowy Alola Sandshrews and Sandslashes we fought and caught that are might hard to find rarity this side of the globe, so how does the prospect of trading some of your critters for ours sound to ya?"

If Rowan would bite at that open offer, then Ran has one Pokemon in mind he wants on his overall team lineup and for the rest of the group's well being and Survival, and asks if they have one: An Absol. More specifically, a seasoned, disciplined Absol that has a knack for its species purported 'Danger/Disaster' Sense and was highly vigilant and just as quick to react to threats/worrying stimuli in general. As for what he'd offer for it, he'd start out with 1 A-Sandslash and 2 A-Sandshrews. If they don't have any Absol, he'd ask if they have any Pokemon like them available for trade, or bar that any strong, not totally belligerent, and sensitive Ghost types they might have (Like, say, a mostly tamed Spiritomb, a Mimikyu, or Mismagius, for examples).

Towards Prof.Rowan, Kee at first takes a defensive attitude as he's hesitant to open up why he's been asking the good professor about alternate dimensions and realms. Octavia eventually starts to nudge him, looking at him with big and teary Eeveelution-Eyes, yips at him once even. Kee can only resist for so long, he proceeds to pet and cuddle her while she looks delighted about having suceeded to charm him like that, as he opts to spill the beans towards the prof: "BECAUSE...." He has to hold his head as he hasn't come to terms with that thought yet (by far not yet!!), "....you know how I ended up here in Snowpoint, professor. Joining your group of investigators for this whole mess. Weird stuff has happened, part of my memory is more black and blurry than the air within a nightclub that owns a qualitative fog machine. Ugh....." Octavia mindfully purrs at him here and licks his cheek out of compassion. "Do I need to say more? I don't think so. I don't WANT to either to arise the wrong kind of attention on me. The Being of Knowledge hinted that answers may likely wait up there, on... What did she say? Oh yes, 'Spear Pillar'. Where's that, will our trip to Mount Coronent lead us there by coincidence?~" (Kee's not from here nor is super-knowledgable about geographics, so that's a valid in-chara question.) "OH RIGHT!" He perks up, looks hesitant to get the words out. How are, well, eh... things going at Virbank by the way, is, you know, Roxie already running riot about me being absent without leaving a trace behind...?" He feels he'd be off better to not know, but that'd make him look unprofessional.

Next issue! This can happen once everythingelse (including Ran's trading of the icy shrews and slashes) is wrapped up, for simplicity's sake I'll just state this now.

"Ah, professor, I DID say I'll come back to you concerning that snowy Grotle you've been soooo generously letting me have~~, did I...? Yes, I did so. Well then..." He takes a deep breath, looks for the Ball containing this Grotle in his stuff, then summons Juhani right here on the spot. She's looking good, proud and ready for action, Kee'd pet her if he wouldn't know that she doesn't like that.

He visibly lights up, displays a delighted expression and crosses his arms in a comfortable manner as she adresses Prof. Rowan with a clear voice: "You know, if YOU are really okay with it, I'd like to keep her under my care. She, Juhani how I named her - forget that it's actually a male name - has potential, she really has, and I FEEL some chemistry between us, positive vibes, yet SO concealed and hidden. That's quite the same when Aya, my Primarina, has been given to me by retirering Performer - she was proud, refusing and not very cooperative towards me at first. She relatively quickly warmed up to me though. Still is a diva brimming with self-assurance, but that's just how she is." Kee displays a smile that reflects pride upon sharing his successful taming of and bonding with Aya. "The decision's up to you now, professor. Do you really not expect anything in return...? I could look for something nice along the way for ya, or keep track of this Delta Grotle's growth in the means of a written report for you and your research. I, however, won't be able to let her fight in every instance I fear, especially since I got myself a smol and overly-cute Vulpix hatchling~♡ AND Core still hasn't evolved into a big and noisy Paraboom in all the years he's with me now. He's just idleness turned into a Pokemon, but he has a great taste of music."

Of course, if Prof.Rowan himself agrees to leave this snowy turtle in the hands of that vibrant musician with the Sylveon, Juhani herself will be asked what HER choice on that matter is. Currently she sports 3/3 in Happiness and Loyalty towards Kee, and she's got that +1 Strength Suprise from the Protein. It all depends on her viewpoint now, as Kee wouldn't want to force his and his other Pokemon's company onto her.

Seeing how late in-game it also is, 24h have passed since Kee planted that Ranc Berry in the Berry Pot Prof.Rowan offered - how have things been going on that front, any ripe berries already? ^_^ If there are, all but 1 will be fed to Stella right away, and a Sitrus Berry will be planted now before Kee'll fall into bed like a stone accelerated by Rock Wrecker, heavily tired and done with everything. Octavia fondly cuddles up to him and Stella curls up in her cozy blanket in a corner of the bed, drawn to the peacefulness and protectiveness of his. Aww!~ It's looking much too cute for the sarcastic and moody guy he is, but guess he has a soft and loving side. He has evolved a Sylveon after all.

Kee wanted to see whether he can trade the Alola Sandslash he caught to someone belonging to Candice's Gym for some Held Items as well as stock up on supplies, will there be time to do that before leaving town?

Professor Rowan definitely has an Absol, and he'd be glad to trade them for the Alolan snowshrews. However, they do have degrading value when they all have the same OT and are being traded to the same person, so Randolph trading even more of them to Rowan won't be as lucrative per pokemon.

Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash aren't native to Sinnoh and there's a lot of them (nothing special about them otherwise), while Absol is simply rare, so I'll give this Absol a 50-50 chance of having a Surprise.

Surprise check: (3) Nope

"This Absol was actually hatched around 8 years ago. I'm sure I don't have to explain the significance of that specific time to you, Randolph. In any case, they were the subject of some of my research a few years ago, but that has long since concluded. They're a paranoid sort, and not particularly trustworthy, so I've never been able to fully earn their trust. They are, however, well trained and will usually attempt to warn trainers of coming disasters, even if it means running off on their own initially to try and stop them. The poor thing's been causing quite a fuss lately, probably due to the issues at Mt. Coronet. Maybe getting out and about and doing something about it will help them calm down, though."

About Roxie: "...speaking of which...I did manage to get in contact with Roxie earlier today. When I asked her about whether anyone had gone missing recently, though, she claimed that nobody had. I gave her your name, and she honest to goodness looked at me like I was daft and said that nobody who works there was named after a berry of any variety, to put it politely. The conversation was rather short, and left me with more questions than answers. Still, we seem to have at least one answer now, even if it isn't a very ideal one. I will see if I can contact Dr. Fennel or Professor Burnet, Kee, and see if they have any solutions to this mess you've found yourself in."

About Juhani: Juhani is willing to try traveling with Kee on a longer term basis, even if it is probably going to be a little...strange and hard to get used to at first. "Don't worry about repaying me for them. If you do notice any curious traits she's developed that a typical Grotle wouldn't have, though, I would love to hear about them later."

There's some time to go around the city to do some trading if you have a specific location in mind, yes.
