That worked to perfection, and it's been Shiva semi-hidden heart's desire to summon the rain with her fae mouse/now rabbit, and now the made that wish to come true. Together. (35xp are spent on Azumarill) It felt like the already lifelong bond between her and Azurmarill has been strengthened a bit by doing so, maybe it was that mystic process that added to it. ...It certainly was, and while Shiva was incredibly nervous at first, now she began to slowly flourish like a plant that has been waiting for the rain.
"You did splendind, dear one. Show us your Bubble Beam then, use these psychic stairways to change the direction of the bubbles, try to catch Glaceon off-guard."
--------------------
Accuracy Roll Bubble Beam: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 4 Channel = 9d6, we'll reduce 4 dice for the Performance Check so it'll 5d6.
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 3 Power of the move + 1 STAB + 1 due to rain = 8d6, I dunno how much Vitality Glaceon has, but hopefully we can deal some damage regardless her Barrier!
Additional notes: 1 CD to reduce Glaceon's Dext by 1. This order is for Round 2 and 3, please stop and await new orders if the battle is still ongoing after having rolled out Round 2 and 3.

Kimono Girl vs Shiva Round 2
Great description of how Bubblebeam isn't affected by Barrier.
Glaceon sends sparkling gems of ice through the rain, and waltzes through them. The Kimono Girl's dance mimics catching snowflakes on hands or her face.
Icy Wind
(1)(5) and (6)(2)(4)(6)(3)(5) +4 = 8 perform
(5)(5) Azumarill takes 1 dmg 8/9hp
Bubble Beam
(6)(2)(3)(6)(2), (2)(4)(5)(5) = 5 perform
(4)(2)(3)(4)(5) Glaceon takes 3 dmg 4/7hp -1 pain
Kimono Girl vs Shiva Round 3
Glaceon begins moving faster and faster, and the weather and music do the same!
Quick attack
(2)(2) She doesn't do any damage though.
Bubble Beam
(1)(3)(5)(3)(2), (3)(3)(6)(6) + 2 = 4 more perform
(6)(6)(1)(4)(2) Glaceon takes 3 dmg, 1/7hp.
The bubbles finish their own dance. There's time for Azumarill to make another flourish after Glaceon's Barriers whirl and gather around her. When they fade, she has vanished, and a tiny layer of snow coats the ground, ending the Rain Dance. The small crowd got a little wet from 18 seconds of rain, but not enough to dampen their mood. The Kimono Girls all produced dainty parasols for themselves.
Azumarill gains 6XP, and Shiva gains 5.
Your opponent is laughing, as she had no parasol. But her makeup is good, so no smearing, and her hair actually looks good wet.
Like Nathan, Shiva accrued enough Perform to be offered video deals!

(03-20-2018, 05:56 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: That screech does get Nathan to almost immediately move his hands to covering his ears until the screeching stops. Nathan's pokemon do the same, but Ralts in particular is NOT enjoying that noise at ALL. He looks about ready to use Hypnosis on that Ghost and be done with it, get some peace and quiet that way.
It wasn't lost on Nathan that Ventus was feelin' like he'd been caught red-handed in that surprise. As soon as the screeching's stopped, Nathan carefully takes his hands off his ears, keeps them raised and near his head so he looks non-threatening to the ghost...
"...Ventus, the Skull Ruins are far, far more dangerous than any location you've probably been to. Going there is a death sentence to all but the most experienced of trainers. Even the Champion avoids it unless he has a VERY good reason to go there."
Wait a sec...
This ghost doesn't seem to be...aggressive...
Nathan lowers his hands.
"...Ventus...where'd you get this Misdreavus from? And...why were you in the Skull Ruins if you didn't catch this Misdreavus there?"
...Nathan takes the moment to take a stab at answering his own question, actually, since Ventus is probably still trying to figure out how to respond. Ralts is a little too spooked to properly focus right now, so he's hugging Furret's warm, furry side.
"...scouting the place out or looking for goodies, I assume? Thought you'd be fine? Look, I'm glad you're okay, but...trust me when I say there's nothing of value in there that's worth the trouble it would take to get it. Okay? Don't. Go there. It'll do nothing but create negative emotions...and every trip could be your last..."
...
"...did anyone get hurt? Anyone at all? Someone probably took a nasty ghost type move, right? I've read that ghost type attacks get amplified to bone chilling levels while in the Ruins...that it damages the target's very soul instead of their body...*shudder*...a common thing that survivors do is visit the Cathedral afterwards. You know, the one in this city. The warmth of that place...it's so...bright and comforting...and it's so...open and wonderful...I can understand why they say it helps after having finally gone there myself..."
And Nathan's lost in thought again as he remembers the good time he had at the Cathedral just yesterday. Aaaaahhh, that helps...
Notably, Emolga's also stopped chittering for the time being since Misdreavus showed up.
Once Nathan let go of his deathgrip on her master, Malphena gave the boy one last long and withering look, her spectral hair waving slightly around to mirror her irritation at his stunt, before she let out a *Hmpt!* and floated back over to Ventus, this time right by his side and watching over proceedings. Ralts' animosity/annoyance toward her didn't go unnoticed, though, as she briefly stopped to mockingly stick her tongue at him, showing in no way was she intimidate by the smol empath. If he tried anything funny but not really way, she'd swiftly show him his place on the Type Totem Pole and put him there: riiiiiight below her! Beware, or you are in for a scaaaaare little Psychic~!
Unlike the young scholar, Ventus was entirely unaffected by his banshee's wails, as the shock they put him in + his experience in working in HIGHLY noisy settings (Try shouting over the din of an angry Haxorous semi frequently!) left him inured to it for the most part. Coupled with the boy's next couple of statement, it DID snap manage to snap him out of it, causing him to slowly respond to the first, still sounding a bit ruffled throughout and.....surprised? ....Haunted?
".......I've explored and traversed my share of hazardous areas in the line of my research, including the Relic Castle outside of Nimbasa, which are quite similar to the Skull Ruins once you delve into them deep enough. .......I'm inclined more inclined to agree with you, though, as even the darkest depth of those ruins didn't carry the same aura of..... malicious evil , to be blunt. Cursed doesn't even began describe what I felt there. It almost felt......felt defiled , and.... hungry ......."
A imperceptible shiver raced through his frame, before he quash it and the dreadful feelings that generated such a reaction, and fully recomposed himself before he moved on to answer their inquiries.
"Ahem.....as I was about to say before I was...... interrupted, this is Miss Malphena, or Malphena for short Nathan. To begin, I was in Corsage just hours ago, searching the place to conduct some business, when just as I was passing by Chuckle's Gym she and her former trainer - a Youngster I never bothered to get the name of - were......'escorted' out by an Overgrown Haunter after being soundly whipped by the humorless man. I saw potential in her that I knew I could properly harness unlike her hapless trainer, and I felt quite sympathetic to their plight, so I approached them and offered a generous trade for both her and to provide some much needed support. He happily agreed, and the rest is history."
"As for why I went to the Skull Ruins.....well, you are sorta correct in a roundabout manner. Truth be told, I detected something while I was searching for Rare Pokémon in the area with Valder, and decided to go investigate to see what it was. A rather foolish move in hindsight, for it lead me straight to Barrows Down and being ambushed by two particularly wicked Haunter, though thankfully Michael was able to put them to Sleep and was able to dispatch them quickly along with Apsis. I captured the two Ghosts, and after seeing first hand what lurked in the Skull Ruins I decided to beat a hasty retreat. More over, its what prompted my trip to Corsage to begin with, as I decided to obtain a Ghost type myself to better defend myself in the future, when it comes times for us to venture forth into its teneborous depths. Now that I've been there, I desperately hope that is a long time coming..... Still, I say it was a worthwhile trip altogether, since I learned first hand why the Skull Ruins have well earned its reputation, and was able to add my lovely sister to my team. Hopefully we'll get along wonderfully together, right Malphena?"
The mischevious spirit let out an *Eeeee!* of agreement, earning her a fond smile and a tossling of her hair, leaving her giggling at the sensation. That felt wield....but nice at the same time! More please, tehe!
During that whole response, Ventus was extremely careful to project a 'genuine' feeling of sincerity, honestly, and truthfulness in his words, taking caring that it laced his physical, verbal, and emotional responses while not coming across as fake. He mainly did this to conceal from Ralts (And Nathan by extension) his true reasons for being in the area, as no doubt they would react......poorly to the real reason he was in the area. That, and its not as if he's not telling them the truth.....he's just not being entirely forth coming and honest with ALL his story. (Or, don't have Nathan start interogatting/getting suspicious over this, as that will just lead to trouble that neither of us want to deal with. Up to you, though.....)
Their next comments about the tell tell symptoms of Ghost type damage in the Skull Ruins area and treating it earned him a thoughtful frown, until he nodded his head abruptly and crossed his arms.
"I'll have to pay it a visit then sooner rather than later, as Apsis did suffer from a particularly potent Shadow Ball from one of those Haunter. Worship does a soul good, after all. ..............However, that is a entirely another topic to deal with at my own discresion, and what I want to steer back our discussion to the original reason I approached you: that Icy Wind TM you own."
Ventus paused for a moment to let them re-rail themselves like he did, before continuing onwards in a soft tone.
"You may or may not be aware of this, but the Misdreavus line is capable of learning a wide variety of Elemental attack, with one of which being the afformentioned Ice move. However, they do not naturally learn such coverage, and most of their movepool leaves them at the mercy of Dark and Normal Pokemon, save its scant few Psychic moves for the plainer of the two types. As such, now that I'm aware you are in possession of move that would neatly alieviate the grief of her facing those foes on more even footer, I wish to obtain it for myself. The questions that remain, though, is if you are willing to part with it, and if so, at what price? I can't afford much in the way of Poke or capital to directly purchase it, but I'm more than willing to do a favor for it in exchange, so long as its within my power and reasonable."
Silence, save the small *Eep!* of surprise from the banshee at the revelation that her master desires to help her out against those nasty/annoying types, though that soon faded away as they closed their mouth in a delight smile. When he said he would take good care, she thought that it would only extend to hunting, but to plan so far ahead for her wellbeing in battle just HOURS after first meeting each other.....it felt nice. Oh yes, she's definitely going to get along juuuust fine with her new trainer, especially if he keeps treating her THIS considerately~
Oh, and Ventus completely fails to notice Nathan's newest companion Emolga, as his mind has been frequently distracted by the sudden swerves in topic/emotion to the point miss them entirely. Malphena didn't share this lack of awareness, though choose to ignore them in favor of her master right now.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Oh right, actually Shiva does have a pocket umbrella in her stuff, but she didn't took it to stage nor could she have been sure that her plan would work out. Nevermind, next time she'll remember that, she doesn't wear an make-up currently that could have ended up being smeared and there's probably still enough time to towel her hair dry before she's pick Ventus in the Lobby. She could even - will - do on the way with that towel from the Spa Resort in Fireweed Forest.
What a precious and enjoyable battle though, even if it lasted not even a minute! Azu didn't looked pained at all, so Shiva ended up picked the fae rabbit up and they ended up sharing a loooong and tight hug that would hopefully never end - for now, Azu has leveled-up from being her bringer of happiness to her bringer of happiness AND summoner of rain. Letting the sun shine to her desire and the rain fall when she calls for it - nature surely was benelovent if treated right, and Shiva felt almost blessed that she made it reaching this point together with her Pokemon.
That delightful moment was soon 'disturbed' by that guy running up to her, catching her attention and earning wondering chirp from Azu. Shiva carefully listened what he had to say, before that soft-compliment for her battle sinked and caused a pretty coy yet thankful manner and body language. She struggles to face that man when responding, drawing Azumarill closer up to her face, but it was obvious that she was smiling in silent delight. "I'd be...happy to contribute my battle to that compilation... I indeed am, t-thank you! Really. No cropping out needed. I'll look forward to receiving that copy, I'll probably send it home to my parents." After careful reading of the form, Shiva signs it with her full name, hands it back, and places Azurmarill down beside her. (I'll add 600$ to charasheet then. Does Shiva receive such a red flower with a clip as well, simply for symbolism?)
Shiva also coyly waved to Heart in the crowd, but before they can make their way to the Center again (or wherever Hearts wants to go) and Shiva could meet up with Ven, she has one small sentiment towards the Kimonogirls:
"Excuse me..... C.... can I, maybe, stroke that Sylveon just once? >///<; Only shorthly over its cheek... I train and raise a few Fairy Types by myself and have forged a strong bond with two of them, and the grace of this Eeveelution awes me quite much."

Yes, all victors get the red flower and pin!
"You may pet her, but be very gently and friendly. If she shies away from you, please let her. We have to respect her privacy."
But Sylveon lets Shiva have a few strokes before she trots back to her trainer.

After that wonderfull perfomance of Shiva and her meet with Sylveon, Heart finally join with her to talk. "That was a great battle you did there Shiva. And a beautiful way too. You and Azu have a strong bond between you too. Just like my bond with Rose." Heart smile. "I think tomorrow the battle shall continue, and I problably going to fight next maybe. I gonna train a bit to be ready. Its still have some light today, so I will try to find someone to battle. Koa and Typhon still need to sharp their claws and eletric attacks. I have decided to take Koa or Rose to the next pokemon battle. There might something interesting to happen. I beg your pardón Shiva. But I going to take you to the pokemon center or other place you want."
Mechanics: Acompany Shiva to the pokemon or other place then find someone to battle! 5x5, 700 pokedollars. Since Koa and Gustav still having faint and recovering from the last battle, I gonna change that too in the PC. Unless they are already recover.

(That's kinda why I originally phrased things the way I did so Ventus didn't have to answer the question if he didn't want to. Ah well...)
Ralts returns that *pbbbt* with gusto. He's just being cautious, not afraid, and mostly because the Ghost was making Nathan uncomfortable (though he doesn't like being around most Ghosts himself, either). He's not actually afraid of Ghosts, unlike Steel types. Well, unless it's maybe a Skull Ruins Ghost...there is fear that he's feeling, but it's mostly stuff he's picked up from Nathan and Ventus both: fear of the Skull Ruins.
Nathan shudders at the comparison of the Skull Ruins to Relic Castle.
"I don't imagine it's anything like the Relic Castle. Some levels have the warmth of a desert sun, right? The Skull Ruins...as soon as you enter the Barrow Downs, and thus the Ruins proper...there's no warmth. No light. No hope. Just...darkness. All encircling darkness that threatens to suffocate you in its cold, cold embrace...or so one adventurer who dared to venture down to the first basement floor described it as."
Another shudder.
"...I REALLY don't recommend trying to jump scare anyone with a Ghost pokemon, Ventus. Most people will react...poorly to that. At best. There's few places you can even find Ghosts outside of the Ruins, so most will assume they're ill tempered until proven otherwise...anyways...ya know, if ya REALLY wanted to get that youngster's name, you could just look up the Original Trainer ID since you conducted a trade."
*shrug*
Nathan patiently listens to the request to trade for the Icy Wind TM. Hmmmm....
...he thinks for a moment.
Does he really value the TM that much?
...he'd want something just as useful for himself in exchange, though...
"...Sandstorm. I know THAT is a TM Castform can typically universally learn due to their affinity with weather of all kinds, and it'd help her get used to summoning weathers that much more quickly, plus diversify her move options...get mea TM for it. Just...don't get it from the Department Store if you can avoid it. I'd really rather not support...them...if at all possible..."
"...on a different note, if I could borrow Haziel at some point as well, that'd be spectacular, I need to make a trip back to Arrowroot Village sometime soon..."
(and OOC, waiving the rest of that Solomon debt would be great as well, as stated in PM already)
"...but seriously, PLEASE don't go around scaring people with ghosts. It's generally a bad idea. Ralts, at least try to be polite, please, alright?"
Ralts stays close to Furret (ya know, the normal type in the room), shoots Misdreavus a look that says 'don't you try anything funny either!', then goes back to what he was doing before: staring at that book of children's stories. Furret joins him. The word 'children' caught her attention, so this book is far more interesting to her than the current discussion...though she's also inserting herself between Ralts and Misdreavus, just in case.
Emolga chitters questioningly again.
"...oh, right. Where are my manners? Emolga, this is Ventus. Ventus, Emolga."

Emolga chitters questioningly again.
"...oh, right. Where are my manners? Emolga, this is Ventus. Ventus, Emolga."
The beautiful Malphena briefly looked intrigued and mildly curious at the Ralts abnormal (to her)responses to her taunting display......before she suddenly gave him a downright devious grin. Oh, a brave one is he? Its not everyday she come across a Psychic type that didn't go deathly pale at the thought of suffering under her Ghostly magics, but she tickled purple to make this discovery! He may look like a scrawny wimp like the rest of his ilk, but now that she was paying attention it was all to clear there's a certain fierceness to him, ready to be sparked at a moments notice. Te he he......well, this boy had certainly becoming MUCH more interesting, and she can't wait to she what else is hidden away in plain sight.....
Ventus, on the other hand, could only slowly shake his head in agreement to Nathan's assessment of the terrible evil that pervades the Skull Ruins. He still find himself wanting for find a way to describe how genuinely blighted and twisted that...... area was, but they did an excellent job of conveying how utterly awful of an experience it forces on beings.....
Their next comment received another small nod from the researcher, saying to them: "I've already laid down ground rules as to what are acceptable targets to terrorize, and human strangers/Trainers are not included on that list, so worry not. As for Miss Malphena's attempt to frighten you, I thought it would be a humorous way to introduce the two of you, so I allow it to happen, believing you could handle a small scare. Which you have proven thusly so far, though not entirely the way I expect."
At the comment about his sister's OT number, Ven could only blink in response as he forgotten such a detail, and he resisted the urge to facepalm at his ignorance. Still, now that the matter was elaborated upon, he couldn't help but curiously check the OT for the Trainer's name. If nothing else, it would be something he could use to track them down later, if the need arises for some strange reason....
(...)
Only briefly mulling over the price they laid out, the sociologist smiled and stuck out a hand to shake on it.
"We have an accord, then. I'll endevear to obtain a Sandstorm TM for you ASAP, and do my best to search for vendors that are not the Dpt. Store, as I can understand your..... distaste due to who they choose to associate and do business with. (...) Need Haziel to conduct an errand there, yes? Hmm.....that's perfectly acceptable, though I am curious as to why you need to return there. No matter, you business is your own, and I'll not infrigine upon it. Perhaps I'll even accompany you myself when that time comes, as I still need to visit the Preserve in the area to fully complete my research...hmm."
Upon being introduce to Emolga, Ven blinked yet again for completely missing the literally energetic flying mouse that hailed primarily from his region, but in hindsight he WAS rather distracted until now, so perhaps it could be forgivable they fly under his rader. Never the less, he gave them a friendly smile and said: "Acquired yet another friend, I see, just like me. And such a lively one as well, from the feel from them! Hello there, Emolga! How have you've been, since you came into Nathan's care? Great, I hope!"
Another nod to the young trainer's request/plea was issued, before he decided to bring up some topics to kill the time until Shiva come picks them up for their....their......ahem. Normally he would just work on his research or write poetry to pass the time, but he wasn't exactly in the mood for such things as of now, and he didn't just want to sit in silence and brood over his relative failure today....
Malphena, meanwhile, silently hover by her newest master's side, listening to him ramble on and on about various things that flew right over her head, but she had to admit their was a certain charm listening to his earnest verbosity. It informed her more about her about his personality and gave her gravedirt on his/his group's activities, at the very least!
"Nathan, how much thought have you given to taking Charmeleon and Grid hunting since I last brought it up? I know its an uncomfortable topic you want to avoid like a large Poisonous Gas cloud, but this needs to be addressed. They are both carnivorous Pokémon, and would be much happier and healthier eating naturally than wholely relying on Pokechow or Rations, which has certainly been proven with Apsis well and truly by now, so you can't deny the results. If you just don't want to bloody your hands, I'm more than willing to take them hunting myself, or butcher some of Apsis' kills and share it with them ...."

"On another matter, what can you tell me of the Tanuki, and about Cress? From what I could glean, she's the Gym Leader of this city, she has a propensity for cute Pokémon, she knows Mt. Sentry extremely well, and that Dagney thinks her eccentric and unreliable, but I know their is more to her than that and wish to get a broader opinion/knowledge base on her. As for why I want to know more about Cress, I actually not had the time to explore this city and learn more about its unique culture besides this morning Tea Ceremony, as I've been too busy conducting business to 'stop and smell the Roserades', so to speak. Is their any place you'd think that would be of interest to me, besides the Cathedral you mentioned earlier?"

"Hmm....say Nathan, I recall you took that Pay Day TM from Dagney , yes? Did you happen to teach it to Swiftfire? If I recall correctly the move can be rarely found on the Rapidash breed, so the possibility she could learn it was present. If that's the case, you could perhaps have her help generate additional funds for you, should you find the right conditions to generate valuable material from the move rather than worthless metals. Just a thought, of course, so you don't have to pay it any mind if you wish."

"......Call me curious, but can you tell me more about how your Pokémon are doing to me? More specifically, how are they behaving and interacting with you and others, and how they have grown and changed under your care? I've been meaning to ask the group about such things for awhile to acquire additional data for my ongoing research on understand Pokémon behavior and its sociological aspects, and now seems to be a good time as ever. If you wish to keep such things to yourself, though, I perfectly understand, so no pressure Nathan."

"Ah, I recall something else now too, now. I did promise that you could join me when I next inform Cynthia about Raphael's growth and development thus far, yes? It would have to be in Stair City, as the last time I tried calling her in Corsage their was no connection, and the last time she called me that connection was.....tenuous at best, so we both would have to arrange a date to conduct this. Not tomorrow or in the near future, obviously, as we have various other matters both personal and not that need be attended, but it is something that should be kept in mind or thought about. Hmm.....perhaps a week from now we could try to reach her......? Is that fine with you, or should I post pone it further? It would certainly give me more time to observe and make a proper report on my dear child, but expedience certainly has its appeal, especially after not speaking with my friend for so long.....hmm."

"How did your meeting with Mr. Finder go? Is he of merit as Shiva claimed, or do we have reason to suspect he's a snake oil merchant, or someone we can't put much faith in?"

"Have you called your mother lately? While I don't believe she has any present reason to worry about you now, or so I hope at least anyway, I can hardly imagine her not being happy to receive word of how you doing thus far. On the subject, is she and the ranch doing well too? Forgive me for asking about such things, but......well, I just want to make sure all is good with your family. "
"......I hope you are doing well too, Nathan. You have seen much more at ease since you've settled in this rustic city, but remember if you ever need someone to speak to, or need assistance, I'm willing to provide it, despite our......conflicts with one another. Shiva and Heart are there for you too if you need it, so you are certainly in good company, should you only ask for it."
(I was bored, and this is a good way of catching Ven up on stuff while re-building a raport between our character, as well as bring up ideas/plans with each other.)

(Remember, Cress City is an Anti Battle Zone, and chronologically speaking Ven's still bumming around Mt. Sentry by the time Heart and Shiva finished their battle, so he can't lend you Haziel to teleport somewhere else for one. Also, what point of the day is your character on after Shiva's battle? For that matter, where is everyone else at? I know Shiva is winding up for the night, and right now Nathan is with Ventus, but the timeline is REALLY screwy from all the jumping around we did.....)

(It because I kinda need a little more XP to change Koa ability and I still have 2 encounters left. I was thinking to finish a quick battle, like 3x3. Also, since I gonna spend 1000 to help Shiva, and 3000 to buy the Metal Coat, I kinda in necessity of money.)
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.
