Zorn indeed doesn't really know what to make of the gift at first. He takes it from Randolph and examines it for a good five minutes...
...then nods in agreement that it was a well deserved thing. About time he received some proper praise for how great he is!
Yeah, that's definitely stoking his ego. +1 Happiness for Zorn.

The following introduction goes completely differently, however.
The first thing that Randolph notices is that Absol's eyes are not red.
They're purple. And a shade commonly associated with the Psychic type at that.
Absol is incredibly jittery, though. She can't stop looking in seemingly random directions, and she flinches when Randolph speaks.
Randolph has her attention, now, though. That purple gaze is trained solely on the small man, with no small amount of anticipation in it.

Diam isn't exactly trained in the art of Stealth, so she ends up Leering menacingly when Karen turns around, having felt a creepy gaze staring at her from behind...
Leer
(6)(4)(4)(6)(2)(4)(4)
And what a Leer it is! It's enough to send shivers down most anyone's spine... When Karen sees Diam leering at her she gives it a leer (not the move) right back! "I've seen scarier things than that..." She kneels down and looks the jewel-eyed gremlin right in the eyes; "You should save that for our opponents." she pats her on the head then Karen gets her stuff together and ready for the expedition!

- Professor Rowan will purchase the 4 A-Sandshrews for $20000.
- Was there a specific pokemon you wanted to trade the A-Sandslash for with Rowan? Or would you like to get something random? Rowan doesn't have any hold items to trade, so you'll have to do a random trade at the Trade House to (maybe) get one.
It is now Day 3. (Every trainer gets 1 heartbeat exp and every character, pokemon and human, regains 1 Will)
Weather: (5)(5) That's on the upper end of the spectrum, so there are no weather effects currently active in Snowpoint City today. It's still perpetually hailing on Routes 216 and 217, however.
Nurse Joy hands Randolph a package in the morning, and has some news to accompany it. "The postman just arrived. He seemed rather spooked about something, but I couldn't quite figure out what he was talking about. Something about Route 216 being haunted or something. Usually, the rumors I hear concern Route 217 instead, where there's an old, abandoned cabin that nobody except reckless teenagers wants to go near, so I'm rather confused. Regardless, be careful if you're headed out that way. I don't need another group of trainers that are on the verge of catching frostbite walking into my Pokemon Center today. Or tomorrow."
I will be quickly in my summarize of things to do:
- Trade the A-Sandslash and the Snover for one of these Pokemon: Shellos (Blue one), Murkrow, Gastly, Misdreaveus, Gible, Riolu, Skorupi, Sneasel, Rotom (Base one with Eletric/Ghost type), Houndor, Elekid, Magby or Snowrunt (female).
- Second, send a message to Renji telling him all the things that happeneded in the last two days.
Abitilies for today:
Gama: Protean
Susano: Sheer Force
Aspido: Harvest
Nami: Illusion
Nagi: Prankster
Hime: Speed Boost
Heracross: Guts
Larvitar: Guts
Cleffa: Magic Guard
Ralts: Trace
Pochyena: Run Away
Mightyena: Intimidate
- For Pokemon Party: Gama (Kings Rock), Susano (Life Orb), Nagi (Leftlovers), Aspido (Sitrus Berry), Ed the Pochyena (Exp. Share) and Shenzi the Mightyena (Shell Bell).
Past night, Kogeki also go direct to the Pokemon Center to check the situation of Mightyena and see if he is okay.

Ran was tense as a Starly around a Glameow as his Dragon juggernaut took their sweet time inspecting their precious new treasure, but soon as they deem it both an acceptable and worthy offering (In what I imagine to be a fairly smug/cocky way) he heaves a *SIGH* of relief and lets out a half wry - half persnickety chuckle with a slight shake of his head.
"Whew.....glad ya like it, Zorn. If ya keep it up, they'll be more treasure for your horde in ya future, I'll tell you that! *Sighs* .....Just don't make me regret feeding ya lust for wealth or get too big a head about this, though."
And that's that! Great resolution all around!
(...)
".....Well, ya certainly have a pretty set of peepers - eyes - , don't ya Absol?"
The bristly blacksmith pays them the compliment in a soft, measured, and calm tone, doing his best to keep his posture still and minimize unnecessary body movement. Wowzers, this ivory wolf dog was jumpier and more antsy than a baby Skitty in a kennel full of canines or Fighting Types (and/or worse, Fighting canines!) . Rowan wasn't jerking his chain this time about their temperament , that's for sure - heck, judging from what he's seen of them, the gentlemanly scholar understated it in his unprofessional opinion.
'Oh boy.....this Dark doggie will be real delicate girl to handle, won't she? Careful now, Randolph.....'
He spends roughly fifteen seconds carefully thinking over his next move, and when he spoke up it his voice was unchanged for the most part, save for a layer of kindness now in it.
"Yes, I believe we'll get along fine and dandy indeed. Alright.....first things first...... you'd prefer a name, Absol, or just being referred by your species name? Typically I give my partners name to distiguish them and afford a certain amount of respect to them I think they deserve, but I won't force ya to adopt one if that doesn't sit well with ya, girl."

That rebuttal elicits further head tilting from the wee anklebitter, her curiosity only intensifying as she attempted to puzzle out if the prodigal lass was being completely sincere in her confidence or not. Past people and opponents have tried to 'fake it until they made it' against her charming and disarming demeanor before - though she could almost always eventually figure out if they were acting or not. If they were......well, that's when she got creative with her scare tactics, and oh what a joy that was....!
Unfortunately, she couldn't quite get a bead on the young lass, which served to annoy her a bit. She could tell their spunky attitude was geniune, but beyond that nothing was certain. Oh, what a bother, what a vexation and frustration, oh!
Diam's scrutinizing was interrupted when they pat them on the head, and overlooked them like they were nothing more than a cute little child! Oooooh, now THAT REEEEAAAALLLLY riled her up nice and badly! If that's the way they're going treat her, she was going to up the ante and spook them so hard their eyes will cross over with each other!
Specifically, she'd attempt to do either one of these two things: cast a Non-Damage Night Shade of their worst fear to jump scare them just as they turn away from her, or (if that's not possible [She'd ENTIRELY willing to Spend Will on making sure it works the way she wants] she deepens her Leer into a downright Mean MEAN Mean Look to put the fear of DIAM into them, by gemstones and crystal bits (If the first idea wouldn't work - again, Will Points will be spent to make sure this works). It's on now, Karen.

Need you to pick just one pokemon, @ Spiritmon. Riolu and Rotom are ineligible as well. The adapted Monferno and Prinplup are also still available.

Could I trade Sandslash for Chinchar and Snover for Prinplup? Or I could only choose one of then? If not possible, I trade Snover for Elekid and A-Sandslash for Gastly. Having more ghosts is always good to have more Stealth options! And curious to see those adapted Chinchar and Prinplup.

When Karen hears what Nurse Joy has to say about the hauntings, she shrugs; "Ghosts aren't a problem with me!"
For heaven's sake, that display of ' It's a beautiful morning, let's get goiiiing!!!~' causes Kee to focus harder on the screen on his laptop and hit the keys more determined in the hope to not be spotted and potentially infected with any morning-person-feels. Where do these people take such an amount of energy from at such an early hour???
Octavia however perks up and decides to approach Karen, she gives her a delighted smile and rubs her head against her as a greeting. It looks like that shiny faeeveelution likes her, probably not only because that fearlessness she expresses towards the mentioned Ghost Types reminds her on her owner. (That sounds like yet another unintentional similarity!) She stays with the young lady with the eyes of gold and silver for a while until Kee comes along and picks her (Octavia) up with a "You're not s'pposed to run off, you know that (҂ `з´ )". Octavia doesn't show any remorse and lovingly cuddles up to him, knowing very well that this will cause him to forgive her instantly.
"Yeahyeah, good morning and all that", Kee more grumbles than says, "I'm about to head into town for some trades and purchases. You need something?" Eventually he also adds "You can come along if ya like and have nothin' else to do, I'm just not the most upbeat person in the morns." How bold of him.

Ah. That blacksmith was so small and sunken in his work that Kee spotted him pretty late, he feels he (Ran) must have been sitting here for much longer than he does. Eh... Nevermind, at least he didn't miss him at last. He gives Draven an hand gesture of 'He's there' and a nod towards Ran, the OMINOUS smile the catbat-vampire displays as a response directly speaks 'Showtime has come at last. *lots of held-back snickering that doesn't let anything good suggest*'
Kee stays where he is while Draven walks off, using every shadow and corner he comes across to his benefit to make sure that Ran nor his Pokemon spot him too early - once he is within reach of the table, he leaps directly only it with a heartfelt jump, landing in front of Randolph: He hisses at him just because. :> (This does not count as areal Ambush, the intention is not to scare Ran.)
But, he's not there to fight or mess with him, which he expresses by shaking his furry head towards any defending reactions. Instead, he displays a smug smile, adjusts his monocle and put one paw into his cloaked wings, taking allllllll the time he wants before pulling out the Megastone for Abomasnow from it. Presenting it to Ran with a 'Look what I've got here!!~'-expression and stance and proceeds to hand it - only to pull away the very moment Randolph makes the SMALLEST motion in his direction, gving him a smile SO FULL of malicious joy that you'd hear him cackling even if he doesn't right now.
Draven does not pack the Megastone away but instead halfly dips it into the cup of cocoa that's at the table (that I just assume there is because Randopllph was displayed to enjoy one while he works on stuff at least once before) and licks the stone. Then he throws glances between the cup and Ran to make his message as clear as day moonlit night: Get him a cup of that chocolatey stuff and you'll get this stone.

(You know, I don't mind Draven sneaking up on Ran this time, so that'll auto succeed, but let me do an Alertness Roll to see how quickly they catch onto the presence once the get right up into his grill!)
Alert Roll (Ran & Beethoven [Using Ran's Dice Pool]) !
Insight (4) + Survival (2) + Alert (2) - Music (1) - Busy (1) = 6D6 Dice
(2)(2)(3)(1)(2)(1) .....Welp!
The venomous feline debut and little show with the Abomanite......completely fails to catch either Ran's OR Beethoven's in any way, as the buddy duo were super absorbed in their own activities by/at that point that the outside world might as well been a dream, for all that it mattered to the two. Not even waving the Mega Stone in front of the midget man's face registers on his personal radar. Talk about Laser Focus!
His cup of cocoa (yes, it's there) is completely unguarded, though, so Draven could do who knows what with it unmolested.

A-Sandslash is only a fair trade for one of the adapted starters, but it is worth enough for one of them!
Snover may be traded for an uncommon or common pokemon.
