"Yeah, it's definitely weird. I'll hang on to it, but I have a strange feeling it's related to why the wild pokemon are so riled up..."

Nathan bags the metal piece, and Ralts lets out a sigh of relief.

"I'm going to look around the area a little more carefully. See what else I can find. There might be more stuff like that around. As far as finding Ponyta goes, just keep an eye out while going about your other business. She'll turn up eventually. Always looking for trouble, that one..."

(seems it's item farming day for Nathan )

Ralts, meanwhile, is curiously eyeing the piece of metal. From a distance. Fairies don't like metal very much.

Ralts is actually very disturbed by the metal, much more than the tent stakes, for example.

You don't find much else except a very short fragment of copper wire, right near where the robot finger was. Coincidence? Hard to say.

(Am I a little late? Well, sorry for that! Here's what I had in mind for that scene in the Center, followed by Mallorn's lab: )

(...) Just as he was sighing at the ridiculousness of Mallorn's 'request', Shiva got his attension.  Giving a somewhat reluctant assent to his plan of actioin, she kindly offered $ 900. Blinking a bit for a few seconds, soon a radient smile graced Ventus' face, its intensity absolutely stunning. Reaching over, he took the money from her, clasping her outstretch hand while doing so. "From the bottom of my heart, thank you Shiva. The journey ahead of us will now be a much more comfortable one for all of us, now that we have a safe place to sleep in the wilds. I, and the rest of the group, are in your debt for your contribution, and we will pay you back for your generousity. For me, I just owe you more than before, so if you need any assitence, you can rely on me!"

Ventus eyes twinkled as he gave his little speach, positively elated that not only would the group get the tent to sleep in, but that Shiva trusted him enough to lend out some of her hard earned money. He will have to pay her back for all the kindness she given him, that is for certain! He also heard he request, and happily assented to it. With a quick check to see if his Pokémon were on him (They were), and quickly remarking to Nathan that'll be back shortly, they departed from the Pokémon center, and headed towards Dr. Mallorn's Lab. Once there, he entered and sought out the Proffesor for the purchase. "Dr. Mallorn, I have returned to buy that tent you were offering earlier. I hope that you didn't run out of stock since yesterday, though, or my luck truly is abysmal!"

Hell. That smile from Ven was a deeply honest one. She just...knew. Looks like he did not unlearn this despite those...depressingly losses in his family (she caught herself feeling with him)... Well, it would a great pity if he did, because it looked fairly good on him. In fact, it was just absolutely lovely how delighted and thankfuly he was towards her... It was worth the money... It surely had an impact on her. In fact, he not just touched her physically upon clasping her hand, but as well - and probably more important - somewhere deep inside. It lightened her heart a little, before toxicity inside increased. Indeed, rage and wrath can be like poison.

She coyly returned his smile, before following him on his way to Mallorn's lab. Not before grabbing another coffee from the Center. - Mental note: Trillium surely serves a splendid one, appearantly they roast in-house. No comparison to the stuff they offer in Café Sonata. -  Cottonee, still outside its ball, followed as well. Seemingly, it greatly enjoyed being under the open sky, after it barely was yesterday... Finally some vitalising sun rays.

Just as Shiva was about to bring up her concern towards Mallorn, Larry rushed in. Oh my... She barely even understood what his problem was or what has happned at all... He spoke too fast and too clipped for her to follow properly. Whatever... right now, she had other worrys. Or rather, her own worrys. Beside, she has not forgiven him for getting too close to dear Cottonee and even touching it without asking her for permission first. Or at least checking whether it likes beign touched by other people.

*cough* "Well... eh, Professor, I wanted to ask if you happen to have a tour or guide book for Chresire... You know, one that contained information about what places here might be worth a visit, whether there are any local specialities that cannot be bought or obtained elsewhere, as well as which town host a Gym and what topic or type the specialise in." - Not saying that she per se plans to take on the Gym Challenge... But some of the other party members might. Most likely, Nathan. Not quite sure about the others. - "Preferably with some general information what Pokemon call which local region their home, you see, I rather not waste Pokeballs on exemplars I can find elsewhere. Rather try to use them on those that I really want to call my own fosterlings."

... "If not for sale, maybe as a loan?"

Maybe it was a slightly weird concern, she wasn't quite sure about that... In fact, this came across her mind shortly before falling asleep. She did not feel inclined to visit the lab before departure especially to ask that... But since Ventus gave it a visit anyway... She might as well join and bring this up.

"Hmmmm....nothing but a copper wire...maybe I need to look elsewhere. It looks like something might be over there..." Nathan decides to investigate a different area in his search for items, since there's nothing else hidden in that lum berry bush. That metal piece disturbed him a little too, and he wants to make absolutely sure there's nothing else around of that nature. He keeps an ever watchful eye on the surrounding area too, looking for the flash of Ponyta's fiery mane.

(aka, I intend to take the item encounter slot since I doubt he's going to find any more than that)

Hoppip... Adorable little creatures. They fly wherever the wind takes them... Must be an amazing feeling. They're free. In fact, as they flew by through the skylight, they reminded her a little on Cottonee... Where was that anger from before? Feels like it flew away alongside the Grass-Types in the open sunny sky. As if in response to its Master's emotions and thoughts, Cottonee chirped to her in joy.

Route 1 though, was even more beautiful that she expected or imagined it to be... No berries so far... Anyway. Might as well find some later. That splashing water reminded her on a thing, though... didn't Nathan said something about the Professor wanting to obtain a Keldeo? Most likely, from them? Hmm... The youngest of the Swords of Justice... It's mostly associated with the southwest of Unova. No idea what it might be doing here... No idea even if it does linger somewhere around Chresire, whether they might get a glimpse on this sly waterly horse... Not even speaking of catching it. She might ask Nathan more about this later on. As soon as he stopped with how desperately he wanted to catch that escaped Poynta... We all noticed already...

"Let's see. For starters, the Pokedex's map shows gym locations and sometimes Pokemon locations - it's very good at knowing the relative rarity of a Pokemon you've already encountered. Plus very basic info about each town." (The stuff shown in the map in the first post of the thread).

"I also have an old battered (and much beloved) copy of 'Hitmonchan's Guide to the Creshire.' This particular copy belonged to a certain young trainer before he became a business mogul. Written by a Camper who traveled the region with his Hitmonchan on less than 300 Pokedollars a day. In the spirit of the book, I will give it to you for free."


The entry for Trillium Town lists Nathan's Ponyta ranch, the trails in Mt. Molten, and the canals, but naturally it does not mention Mallorn's. At the time it was written, there was no Pokemart here at all. Mankey, Ekans, Paras, Venonat, and Kricketot are all mentioned, plus Hoothoot.

Hearing Shiva call out to him from afar, Ventus turned around and waved her over. "Why certainly, my friend! The more the merrier I say, and I might need a little assistance investigating that Poliwag. If you want, once I've finished studying it and had my battle with it, you can capture it, if you like." With that said, Ventus continued on his way to where he saw that Poliwag, keeping an eye and ear out for Nathan's Ponyta while surveying the area.

- Well... Don't remind her on a Pokedex. With a huge amount of money borrowed to Ventus for that tent he badly wanted to obtain, her own Dex retreated into far distance... Ah, are we feelling a little regretfulness here? Don't. Really not. -

"Thanks! Thanks a bunch...! I'll surely take good care of it..." Quite joyfully and at high sprits now, she accepted that book from Mallorn. She'll take a deeper view inside it later then, as soon as there will be some free time to do so.

With that finished and done, she joined the other party members to finally depart, but not before taking a look what her new treasure lists about Trillium and Route 1...

How caring! She joyfully joined him on his way into the woods, in direction of that mentioned Poliwag... Ah, there it is! She first did not see it at all. But there it dwelled around, quite calmly enjoying being where it was. A little weak on foot... But in fact, that's what Poliwag were like. Once they evolve, they'll gain some strength and spirit in their legs. Politoed...

"Thanks! Glad that you let me join you!" Not sure how she's supposed to 'assist him on investigating' that little waterly thing... On the other hand, she had a Grass-Type with a STAB on-hand... "Maybe. Don't know whether I want to catch that one... Probably not."

... ... ... Wait, battle? "Your Togepi's able to attack, at all?"

No glimpse of that oh-so-troublesome fierly horse so far. At least not here. Not near the waters, but it might get closer to said water to drink...?


(Indeed, where was that wrath Shiva felt not long ago? ... It's gone. Flew away with the Hoppip, and soothed by the beauty of Route 1. As quick as rage comes, just as quick it can leave. Whether it's 'really' hone or just bottled - we'll find out about that to a later date.)

As the group enters route 1, Nathan tries to sort out what's been going on with Larry.

"So let me get this straight. Larry, you received a phone call from your mom, and she only said two words before hanging up, and wouldn't respond to anything you tried to tell her? And the words she said were 'darkness' and 'dreams?' Sounds to me like something to do with Darkrai, if I were to be pessimistic about it...but nobody's seen that pokemon in years. Ah well, Corsage is on the east coast and we're headed in that direction anyways. If you're THAT concerned about the phone call, we can go check it out...but that's going be a ways down the road from now."

After that brief speculation, Nathan steps in front of the party, halting their progress.

"In any case, before we go anywhere, let me just remind all of you what my main goal is before we move on. I need to find and capture the trouble making ponyta from the ranch. Everyone needs to keep an eye out for her, as this is the most likely location she'd run off too. You won't find her near the water, but you might find her messing around with some of the local wildlife or trainers. If you see her, call me immediately. She won't listen to anyone except me, and I don't care what you think you know about handling ponyta. She breaks most, if not all, of the conventions when it comes to raising them. If she attacks you, I also do not want you to attack her in response. She causes enough trouble as it is, and I don't need her acting sullen or even more rebellious on top of everything else. That goes double for you, Larry. Don't charge into the snake nest or try to be heroic with this one."

With that said, and after double checking that everyone has his number registered, Nathan joins Shiva, Larry, and Ventus in looking for berries.

"Hmmm....maybe over here....hm? Is that what I think it is? It IS! A Lum berry!! These are incredibly rare finds...wait, what's that? Berries don't shine like that...what the...is this...a metal finger?" Nathan picks it up, curiously examining it. "That's...odd...hey, Vincent! You, uh, might want to take a look at this..."

Ralts, meanwhile, is curiously eyeing the piece of metal. From a distance. Fairies don't like metal very much.

Larry said "please dont mention my assault on the ekans nest" Larry after Talking to Nathan decided to look for a weedle " I'm gonna look for a weedle if you guys need me" and walked in to the grass, as Larry was looking for a weedle he pulled out his pokedex to read about Oshawott while he was looking, "I hope the thing wasn't darkrai or some ghost type like gengar or something else" Larry said

Larry got another call "NOOO! NOT ANOTHER CALL" and runs to everyone else.
