"Well, it appears that you have successfully learned Metronome, but I guess we need to practice on your form if you don't want to be tripping in battle," Ventus say, carefully extracting Raphael from the ground. While he was doing so, though, he felt his Togepi's tummy rumble, and suddenly looked at him mournfully. Chuckling a bit at the display, Ventus cradled them in his arms, and pulled out a small baggy of fruit from his satchel.

"I guess summoning forth your arcane powers for the first time must have awakened a powerful hunger as well. Fortunately for you, I have a few piece of fruit leftover from breakfast, so nibble on these my little angel," he said, opening the bag and hand it a few slices of Strawberry and bananas. Chitter in joy, it took the pieces of fruit and began to eagerly nibble on them, making a slight mess of itself in the process. While a little unmannered, Raphael looked so endearly cute while enjoying its meal that Ventus couldn't find it within itself to correct such behavior.

Looking fondly at Raphael for a moment, he began to his treck away from the marshy area of the route, and proceeded to explore the rest of it in detail. He was beginning to get over his (on reflection) egregious actions, but he wanted to spend some more quality time with Raphael. 'Now that I think about it, my Togepi didn't exactly have a pleasant day either, so walking around andshowing it the sights should both put us in better moods! Maybe we'll see some interesting Pokémon as well; maybe Sawblu, if we are lucky!', Ventus thought.

Pidgey flutters up onto your hand and accepts the food. After all, no other picnicker has attempted to harm it while feeding it!

"Hey. There's a good bird."

He reaches down, offering the pidgey an opportunity to hop onto his arm as he fishes out another piece of hard tack with his free hand.

"Given how much you like this stuff, I'm surprised you haven't found yourself a trainer." He offers the bird another piece of hard tack.

"You want to come along for the ride? You're already plenty tame and regular meals probably beats hustling picnickers for scraps, little guy."

With his free hand, Vincent reaches down to his belt and pulls free his last Pokeball from the clip.

"We'll need to register you, little guy."

He lets the bird examine the device up close. "It's a Pokeball. If you let me capture you, it tags you as one of my Pokemon so I can legally identify myself as your trainer. Not going to force you, but it'd help."

He glances up from the bird parked comfortably on his arm at the departing pidgey flock.

Something's spooked them. He turns around warily.

Nathan is rather stunned Ralts's attack didn't work AT ALL. Some good all that training did apparently...but he wasn't about to let this Staryu just have its way with Ralts. He was annoyed. Annoyed at the Staryu. Annoyed at Ventus. Annoyed at the failed attempt at Confusion...and this was going to be a good way to start letting off some steam. He kneels down next to Ralts and applies a potion, and then orders him to use Confusion again! Surely, it wouldn't be a fluke failure twice in a row, right?

Ralts can feel Nathan's pent up aggression right now, and is getting sort of angry too, actually. That Staryu was turning out to be a nuisance!

The Long Grass behind where you befriended Pidgey shakes as if something disappeared into it. Now all is still.

Nathan's aggression somewhat recedes now that something actually went well. He still finds it strange that there's a Staryu living in a pond though. By itself. In fact, he's also wondering if this Staryu has something to do with the Deyo flowers...

Nathan makes a decision then and there, whether he's aware of it or not. This Staryu is coming with him. He gets ready to throw a pokeball at it, hoping to make the capture. "Ralts, I want you to use Growl on Staryu while I try and capture it."
