[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(05-01-2017, 05:17 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Nathan's eyebrows shoot up when he hears that. "Really? More riled up wild pokemon? We just came from the west, and there were already enough aggravated ones as is. They weren't grass and water types, but there was something strange about them being there anyways."

"Yep, been a lot of talk about how much slower the going is. Say, would you trainers like a ride? Some of you look like you might just be beginning your journey. Trax is faster than going on foot, and Miltank can help keep your Pokemon all healed up! And we could use the company - there's safety in numbers, and we've been on the road a long time with only ourselves to chatter to. Either way, I hope you'll take a Potion apiece to keep you safe. Whaddya say?"

"I think we'd all appreciate the ride. It took us a little while to get started this morning, so I'm not sure if we would have made it to Ginger Town. And we'll definitely appreciate the extra potions."

'Plus, I don't want to have to deal with any frisky water types right now...or more than one wild pokemon, for that matter,' Nathan silently adds.

Ralts is excited at the offer! A whole busload of happy people and pokemon offering a ride in their magical contraption? Yes please!

Swiftfire still isn't very excited. Particularly if she has to ride in her pokeball while on the vehicle. She still wants to get some fun in today, too.

Staryu...is unreadable. Not having an actual face will do that.

Surprised by there generous offer, Ventus smiled at them and bowed to them. "I'd be happy to accept your generous offer, my fellow traveler! Though, I feel a bit like a heel if I didn't offer anything in return, so I'd be happy to provide anything you desire. I'm a Pokémon researcher, so if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask, and I'll answer to the best of my ability! I also know how to bake, so if you let me I can make you all sorts of Poffins for you and your Pokémon to enjoy! Provided that I'm given the supplies to make them, that is," he said, looking rather happy at the opportunity to rest his feet for a bit.

All that walking from earlier, while not as strenuous as running from a Mankey, was tiring in of itself. Still, Ventus couldn't help but glance at Nathan as he said he wanted to hitch a ride as well. 'This could be...problematic. If we are going to ride together, all I hope is that he doesn't bring up our confrontation from yesterday. I don't want trouble others about this, and being kicked out of a moving vehicle is something I don't care to experience,' Ventus thought, starting to have second thoughts about a road trip to Ginger Town. Even the Potion offer was tempting...

"Well then... err... Sir. Thanks for your assistance..." He figured there was no harm being polite. Even to a Geodude.

He turns slightly, keeping Ventus visible at the edge of his vision. "You're welcome to do what you like, Ventus. I'm just wrapping things up here anyway." His tone is clinically professional.

He pushes himself to his feet and limps over to Nathan, unclipping the Pokeballs he had borrowed earlier for insurance and handing them back to their owner.

"So. Apparently, we ran across a Geodude who is fond of hardtack, but otherwise, is content to be left well enough alone. What's the situation with these folks? Didn't catch much while I was trying to convince it to help dig out the RV."

He glances down at the Ralts who looks set to burst with excitement.

"What's with him?"

"What's with him?"

"Funny story, actually.  These folks have offered us a ride to Ginger Town.  Wild pokemon are apparently incredibly riled up in that direction.  Mostly grass and water types, apparently.  Oh, and they'll give us all a potion each as well.  Considering they have a Miltank, I doubt they need them all that much, either."

Looking rather sullen at Vincent's remark, he walk towards him and stood beside him. He was quite careful to present his hand subtly to him, showing that he had no weapons or Pokeballs in them. "Vincent," he quietly said, keeping his voice from carrying to the car ridders, "I don't expect you to treat me with anything less then professionalism, after my transactions caused you and Nathan so much distress. I promised that I would explain it to you, my...friend, but I can't exactly do that if you are not willing to hear me out. We both have our demons, Vince, and I would like to reveal them first to a person that can truly understand," Ventus mutter to him, looking out of the corner of his eye for Vince's reaction.

He smiles. "They had me at 'give us a potion', Nathan. I'm not too proud to say no to a handout. That said... Pokemon being riled up along the route could be... problematic, to say the least. I'm not about to turn down a ride into town aboard a..."

He sniffs the air.

"Party bus, apparently, but I'd say this is as good a point to prep for a scrum as any. Better than walking into battle on foot anyway."

Vincent glances back to Ventus, and the humor once again washes out like the tide.

"I'll work with you because of Mallorn's request, Ventus, but you're right about that explanation. I'm not." He turns and silently walks away towards the RV.

"If it has to be this way, Vince, then it is so. What I did... I was acting for the safety of you and Nathan. You'll doubt my word, and mistrust my every action for now on, but I will always strive to help you and the other, and act in all of our best intensions," Ventus mournfully said to Vince, as he turned away from him. A sad but determined look adored the researcher's, watching as Vincent began to walk away.

What heard said next, though, carried an solemn, serious tone. "Do not mistake my sorrow, however. While I feel terrible for the trouble I caused you and Nathan, and the for the level of miscommunication I facilitated with my actions, I don't regret what I did. Not. One. Bit." Ventus said, the last of his words carrying a sharp bite to them. He was still smiling, but there was nothing happy about it at this point. "If you had the experiences I had, no doubt you would act in a similar manner. Perhaps you would have acted even worse than I; even though you hide it well, I distinctly feel many patterns of emotion coming from you. Almost as if there was more than one person in your head, or you having a fractured mind."

A brief period of silence, so short but seemly stretching to infinity, before he spoke once more, sounding bone tired this time. "We are both unstable, or so it appears to me. I guess we have to more careful in the future, lest we explode and harm everyone around us. Preparations will be impossible, though, if we never communicate, but we have managed this far alone, so who's to say we can't handle. It is my greatest wish, though, that we can stand together in the future, and support each other in troubled time. Maybe not now, or ever, but still, a fool can wish," With that, Ventus ceased conversation with Vincent, and walk towards the RV as well. He looked sorrowfully, yet so very, very unapproachable.

Nathan just manages to catch what Vincent says to Ventus. Considering the message Vincent had received from him, he figured that Ventus must be trying to explain himself as he'd promised. Whatever his reasoning for it was though, Nathan still wasn't about to forgive and forget. Forgetting was going to be near impossible, for that matter.

Ralts might be what could almost described as 'drunk off of happiness,' but he could still sense the change in attitude when Ventus approached. He calmed down slightly, as both he and Nathan realized they'd be sharing the RV's space with Ventus, most likely in close proximity.

Focusing on something else, though, Nathan was wondering what to do about Swiftfire. She didn't want to be in her pokeball, and there likely wouldn't be enough room in the RV for her...maybe on the roof? No, the miltank took up too much space...and Nathan didn't want to do something like that to the poor horse...she couldn't safely run alongside the RV either due to the wild pokemon...well, if he didn't think of something soon, she'd HAVE to go in her pokeball, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

A free ride to Ginger Town... Very tempting, indeed. Free Potion on top of that. Still Shiva had sort of a strange feeling about outright accepting the offer. It wasn't an actual 'bad' feeling - in fact, she couldn't explain it to herself. Not the first time though that this happens, plus her gut feelings very rarely lie to her. Maybe the fact that she prefers clean and secure surroundings played a notable role. It probably did.

Listening to how the others decided they will accept the ride, she didn't wanted to be only one left behind, so she decided to get over herself and join. Hopefully this will go as fast and smoothly as possible, and that it would not turn out to be a wrong decision...

Before she entered the vehicle though, she withdrew Cottonee in her Pokeball (her pure fluffball shall not have to endure this...) and stopped beside Ventus. The words she spoke to were not much more than a whisper, and had a gentle yet cautious tone dwelling in them. She made sure that only he heard her. "Ven... You offered them to explain yourself. Let them think about it, give them a little time."
