He walks over when it's over to collect his prize, leaving Ralts to watch Swiftfire. When he reaches the ice climber, he says, "Thanks for the battle. Nathan doesn't say a word to Larry other than, "Nice Nincada you got there. Take good care of it." He walks back to Swiftfire and Ralts, still sullen and angry.

Larry shakes the ice climbers hand and says "good match." Larry then looked at Nathan showing a mad look in his eyes "I wonder whats wrong?" Larry asked himself. Larry then told the ice climber "i'll take some black ones, and thank you very much I could use some" Larry then heard what Nathan said in a tone Larry has heard before many times "uh Thanks I guess?" Larry replied. "well I need a nap" Larry said and went and took a nap in the RV

Later Larry woke up "Ah! Arceus save me!" Larry shouted, Larry looked around "gosh I can feel the anger in here, I should have went with May when she offered me a chance to travel with her over these people." Larry said to himself. "its so hot why did Nathan bring that stupid horse with him out of its pokeball!" Larry wasn't so happy with the ponyta "ok Larry its not that bad just calm down" Larry said as he took deep breaths. Larry looks out the window to see Nathan "I sould come clean with him" Larry says not so happy "no I should come clean with ALL of them" Larry said

Larry then walks out not so happy "Nathan I I n-need to tell you something" Larry says a bit scared "I not a trainer!" Larry said as tears come out of his eyes "im a fraud! A lie! Larry said "im sorry for the lies I just wanted to show I am my father. father. DADDY I MISS YOU!" Larry continues to cry only louder to the point that everyone else could hear him "I have been put under so much pressure by my uncle Norman and my cousin May. My mom wants me to be a great trainer like May but she is way better than what I could do and uncle Norman is 10 times that!" Larry said. "I just wanna stop hearing "why cant you be more like May" do you know what its like being related to someone who is the best coordinator in all of Hoenn, Johnto, and soon Unova!" Larry shouted. "im sorry for being so emotional I just have been under so much pressure from everyone." Larry stated

Just as Shiva puzzled over how to get on top of the RV, Ventus already lend her a hand. Intrusive? Nope. Unexpected, but still appreciated? Totally. If she wouldn't enjoy it, she would have objected. But she didn't do so as he carefully broke the ice by touching her hair a little earlier, so there's that. She thanked him for his quick aid and watched the others leave in all directions.

The RV stopped at a waterfront and the air was cleal, fresh and filled with the typical scent of fresh water. That scent was somewhat new to Shiva - she only knew the salty scent of a nearby harbour. From here, she could see across whole Greenbiar River. Her two new companions (PlusleMinun) jumped off her shoulder in time to stay on the ground, and were heading towards the bank of the river. She didn't hold them back, they will return on their own after they refreshed themselves a little. They deserve it after playing so much with her, after all... from the roof of the RV, she was still able too keep an eye one them.

Miltank greeted her with a cheerful 'Mooooh!', she retuned the greeting by petting its forehead a little. Such a friendly cow, and it seemed all fine and healthy on top of that! Cottonee on the other hand, upon being called it out of its Ball, was rather curious about those Hoppip - after all, they are riders of the wind as well.

Damnit, Larry... stop shouting, please. He'll chase the Hoppip away by that. However, she looked up as she heared him saying 'breeder'.

--------------------
Mechanics:
Awaiting what these Hoppip will do. If they attack, battle them with Cottonee if needed. Plusle and Minun will directly run into the non-special Shellder, but given their owner is on top of a RV = still within earshot and sight, orders can still be given without problems.

The Hoppip do not attack, just splash harmlessly against those on the roof, bounce off, and get blown into you again. They go where the wind takes them, for the most part; they are nearly helpless to steer unless they get really curious.

I really like the image of commanding the little Pokemon from atop the RV.

As he's walking away from the RV, Nathan's suddenly assaulted by a stream of words from a wild Larry he hadn't been expecting!  As Larry gushes out the truth, Nathan just looks on in a rather cold silence.  Or at least appears to be.  Internally, he's trying to process all this new information...

'Wait...this kid's related to May and Norman?!  Wait, he said uncle and cousin...not a direct relation...and what was that he said about his dad?  Hmmm...and it seems I WAS right to not trust the stories.  He is a complete noob after all.  Well, maybe not completely...he did somehow bumble his way through so far...and if he was a breeder, he at least knows a few things about pokemon...'

Nathan sighs...he's been doing that a lot lately.  As angry as he is at himself and Ventus right now, this kid has somehow broken him down.  He can understand the pressure Larry must be feeling.  Trying to live in someone else's shadow is not easy, particularly if everyone expects you to do the same great things as the one casting that shadow...

In the case of May, she's one of the champions of the Hoenn region, and an incredible contest coordinator at that.  After having mastered the contests of Hoenn (outdoing even Wallace's niece, Lisia. That family is known for their contest skills, and Wallace is even the reigning Champion of Hoenn on top of that), she managed to bring the contest craze over to Kanto and Johto.  She'd dominated there too, and was now in Unova doing the same thing with an added flair for their Musicals...definitely a battle AND contest legend.  Her feats are rather impressive, as is her signature pokemon, Blaziken.

As for her father, Norman...well, he and his family had moved from Johto to Hoenn because he'd been accepted at a gym leader position in Petalburg City.  Being a gym leader, everyone already knew he was super tough.  Those not versed in his battle techniques though often find themselves staring at the wrong end of an ultra powerful Slaking.  Or two, depending on how difficult he makes the battle.  He even uses a few techniques in double battles to make his two Slaking even more powerful, primarily by getting rid of their Truant abilities.  Outside of battle achievements, there's also rumors going around that he knows something about the legendary pokemon Latias and Latios...a rumor which seems to have some credence since May can call upon the services of one of the duo for battle, contests, and transportation.  Hmmm...which one was it again, though?  Nathan was having trouble remembering...

Anyways, Nathan turns back around to pick up the item he was now right next to.  "Larry, if you want to improve, then you'll need practice.  You can't become a battle or contest legend overnight."  Nathan could empathize with this situation, so he considered something he wouldn't have even thought about doing before..."sigh...I don't know why I'm offering but, if you want, you can come and train with me...I may even answer a few questions for you if you have any...nothing super specific and special, mind you, but I do know a lot of general information about training pokemon."  His expression and tone are rather flat, but the anger and frustration is beginning to melt away.  Ralts looks a little less sullen too.  Swiftfire just wants to get on with things and is pacing back and forth.

Juggler Round 1

"Hey! Thanks for helping to inspire me, man, you're gonna be like, my muse! Ok, let me first teach you the three ball cascade pattern. I'll occasionally toss you a ball, and you just run in this pattern and toss them back."

Vincent: 3 Dexterity
(5)(2)(5)

Marioso: 4 Dexterity
(6)(3)(3)(1)

"Oops, I dropped one...That cow on the roof is really making me nervous...uhhhhh..."

Vincent gains 1 Pokeball

"Ok, this next routine is like, way harder. It's called the Corsageport Shuffle, which is just like the Bouffalant Shuffle except...well, I'll just show you." He begins to swing the Pokeballs around in big sweeping motions, letting them go so they arc into the air, then catching them with the other arm swinging around in the opposite direction. Meanwhile he balances a final Pokeball on his nose.

Juggler Round 2

Vincent's Dexterity
(4)(3)(6)

Juggler, at -1 penalty for complexity:
(2)(2)(2)

Vincent gains 2 Pokeballs

Juggler Round 3

"Maybe I need to reduce that routine from six balls down to four. It's hard because you can't look. This final trick is called Bill's Mess. It gets exponentially harder the more balls you add. At my performances, I do four balls, and I can do that with confidence. But for training, I'm going to use this fifth ball."

credit: http://libraryofjuggling.com/Tricks/4bal...sMess.html

Vincent:
(6)(3)(1)

Juggler:
(5)(5)

"Looks like I won that round!" Moran especially is mesmerized by the smooth, neverending flow of Pokeballs. The juggler's tricks are a lot more impressive when he doesn't overextend himself.

Speaking of which.

"Look, I bet I can do it with six balls!" He casts about and picks up another ball from the beachfront, adding it to the mess. "Whoops! Whoa, whoa, whoops, phew!" He almost drops the balls but catches them.

"Whoops..."

The new ball falls to the ground. With officer's instinct, Vincent throws himself to the floor on top of Moran.

Evasion: 6 dice +1 Evasion
(5)(2)(1)(4)(5)(2)(2) - 3 successes.

The little Voltorb, for such it is, hits the ground and goes off!

KRAKOOOOOOOOM!! Chunks of rock and shell slide into the water, and cracks appear in the pavement. The Voltorb goes flying off far into the air.

Accuracy:
3 Dex + 1 Fight = 4 dice
(4)(1)(5)(6) - 3 successes.

The Juggler is coated in ash as he passes out. In the Voltorb's wake, little splinters of holographic metal come fluttering to the ground.

+1 Loyalty to Moran.

Larry then stoped crying "thank you for trying to under stand what im going through" Larry said a trying to be happy. "no thank you i'll go look for some berries instead I will need some for the future" Larry replied to Nathans offer. Larry then wiped to tears of his eyes and begain hunting for berries while Larry was hunting for them he got a call from Rachel "oh no I cant let her see me like this she'll think I got something wrong, and seeing how she acted about owning a rare pokemon she might make fun of me!" Larry said. Larry didn't answer "now I need an excuse for it hmmm.... Ah ha! i'll say I was busy in a battle against a... clown! Yeah that's what i'll say" Larry then got out ekans "ok ekans come on out!" Larry then told the snake to help him find berries and they digged in the bush for berries

Larry berry hunting:
(2) - no berries today

Nathan's Item*:

On the beach, Nathan and Ralts find a beautiful pink pearl. It's almost as big as Ralts' head. Ralts is fascinated with it and wants it.
On the other hand, you think you could sell it for a whopping $8,000.

Ventus' Item:

Ventus also finds a pearl on the beach, this one worth about $1,000. A nearby swimmer comes out of the water and starts making eyes at Ventus, curling her hair around a finger and giggling at him.

after Larry was finished digging he heard the explosion and runs over to the site in fear that some one die to a voltorb "Nathan! Vetus! Vincent! Shiva! Rachel! someone!" Larry shouted as he feared that some one died. Larry looks around and finds Vincent on the ground "Vincent!" Larry shouts as he runs over to him "hey Vincent are you ok?" Larry looks to see Vince's paras under him Larry says "I got some bandages, aloe vera gel, and some alcohol for any wounds you got." Larry then offers his hand to help Vincent up

Plusle, Minun, and Shellder Round 1

Rodent Initiative: 1d6 + 2Dex +1 Survival
(5) = 8

Shellder's Intitiative: 1d6 +1 Dex +1 Survival
(3) = 5

While the two happy Pokemon are playing in the smooth pebbles along the river, a Shellder surfaces from under the sand. As the sand runs down its body, it sticks out its tongue at the rodents.

Oh, it is on!

"No, Ralts, you can't hold it. This thing is...oof...rather heavy for its size...I don't know how you'd expect to keep it off the ground! It's way to big and heavy for you!" With some effort, Nathan pockets the pink pearl, chuckling at Ralts's attempts to try and grab it from him. "Hmmm...thinking about it, it actually looks a bit like a Clamperl...as he turns around to check on Larry though, he hears the explosion, and sees Larry running off towards the juggler and Vincent! "Uh...offer's still open, you know! I"ll be on the beach if you change your mind!" While curious about the explosion, he trusts Vincent has things under control. Somehow.

Swiftfire isn't too excited about Nathan's choice of training grounds, but Staryu is ecstatic. Ralts is the middle ground between the two, of course, loving the sand, sun, and water all in equal measure. "Alright, team! Let's get started! We need to work on our...well, everything, admittedly. But for now, let's just focus on one thing at a time! Mobility is a big factor we need some more of, as is endurance. So let's see some laps out of the lot of ya for starters!" Nathan's order to his three pokemon is quite to the point. He also only gives one order to all three due to not wanting to potentially confuse them with a bunch of rapid fire orders that all differ wildly, even if they can take their time with trying to comprehend what he just said due to not being in battle. "Don't worry, I intend to join you in this. We're in this together, after all!"
