[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Oh I forgot to answer about the Geodude. You occasionally see him wandering around the festival, especially under the RVs. He's still around, but still not interested in Pokeballs.

Ventus' Karp has a 4 on it, though he picked a lovely one. The stranger's Karp says "3".

You get a little squeezable Magikarp chewtoy as a consolation prize, and of course you get to keep the Magikarp.

Not at all disappointed in his pick, he accepted the Magikarp from the vendor with a smile, and departed from the stand in a leasurely stroll. "I didn't get the big prize, but I got a fine catch for Apsis. She'll certainly enjoy it, for sure~" Ventus said, humming to himself as he explored the marketplace. Spotting the Shelldar game, he decided to investigate it in a fit of curiosity. "Hello there, my friend! Tell me, what type of game do you have running here? I'd like to know whether or not I should make a bet with Fortune, or wander elsewhere," The researcher said, tilting his head in curiosity at the person.

After that encounter (regardless of Ventus attempting the game or not), Ventus found himself at the berry stand, and decided to have a look at the fruit of nature on display. "Greetings! If I may be so rude to ask, but what berries do you have in stock here? Do you happen to have any Ranc Berries, per chance?"

"You'll watch me feed one of my three identical Shellder one of these little pearls, then I'll shuffle them around, and if you keep track of which one has the pearl, you can keep it. The pearl is worth $600 and it costs $200 to play, so you could triple your money!"

Ranc Berries are $200 a pop, I have 4 of them.
Oran $175
Ornamental Aprikorn nuts $400 each
Status healing berries are also $400
We didn't find any Lum berries this year.
Poffin or ornamental berries are $50 per Poffin's worth.

"Hmm...I understand the rules, good sir. I think I'll place your game shell; you can't make money without putting a little in, as they say. To the victor!" Ventus says, handing over $200 PokeDollars to vendor. Afterwards, he carefully focused his attension on the pearl, tracking its exact position amoung the shell. Ventus is also watchful of the man's hands and arms, watching for any foul play on his part. 'I get nothing but positive feeling from this man, but it always pays to be alert,' the researcher though, his happy smiling belaying none of his inner thoughts.

(Meanwhile in the future, at the Berry Vendor_)

"You have quite the haul of Ranc berries, I see! In that case, I'll take a couple of them off your hands, if you don't mind~" Exchanging $400 PokeDollars for the berries, he carefully stowed his purchases safely in his satchel, and left to wander the fair grounds. He decided that he would take in the sights in little more, before his rampant curiosity sends him all over this town.

[I'll post where else I'll go based on the results of the shelldar game. Have to be conscious of my money...]

Shell insight:
(2)(5)(3)(2) - Somewhere in the flipping and shuffling you lose track. You are pretty sure he never cheated though.
You pick a Shellder at random - if it's a 6, you win by pure luck.

(6) Sometimes luck is worth more than insight.

You hand over 200$, and win a $600 pearl.

At the pokemon center, Nathan's trying to make sure Shiva's okay. Plusle's brush with death had been a close call, and it had definitely frightened her. She hadn't said much of anything since they had left the swamp. When Nurse Joy had asked why Plusle and Miltank were both fainted, it was a simple truth of 'a weezing self destructed.' The metal man never comes up because he had nothing to do with that as far as everyone knows (and it's unlikely anyone would believe them if they said something about him anyways).

"Shiva, Plusle is fine. I stopped the wounds from getting worse ages ago, and nothing got a chance to attack him while he was out. He'll pull through. The little guy is a strong one, I'll give him that." Ralts is close by, also trying to comfort Shiva, in his own way. Pokemon hugs are great, right?

If you win any of the games of skill with four successes, you can win a giant stuffee of your choice of festival Pokemon: giant butterfree, giant snivy, giant hoppip, nearly lifesize camerupt.

You could also buy one from one of the winners, but they are quite desirable because they are good enough to function as Pokedolls, so no one is going to part with them for less than $1000.

They're also one of the prizes at Shuckleball!

(In battles, the dice hate him. When he's faffing about or socializing, they just want to cuddle right up to him~)

The vendor was quite certainly dexterous, as Ventus quickly lost sight of his prize among the rapid switching and swapping of Shelldar. With a look of pure puzzlement on his face, the researcher just shrugs in hopelessness, and says "Oh my, your hands are like lighting! I guess I'll leave it up to luck to choose." As he says this, he covers eyes with one hand, and waves his other hand back and forth in front of the Shelldar. A few seconds later, he stopped his random motions, and picked the shell his hand happened to find itself hovering over. Reshirem must have been sorry for all the misfortune that fell his way recently, for his literally blind luck happened to win him the pearl!

Holding the pearl in his hand, he blinked Noctowlishly at it, before a wide grin broke out across his face. With a belly laugh, he chortled at the odds, enjoying the victory for all his worth. Taking the pearl from the gentlemen, he politely said, "Thank you for the game of chance, my friend. I do hope you have better luck with other people, though I don't believe you'll have a hard time. Those hands are really quite nimble!" Walking away with a smile on his face, Ventus went off to go see what berries the Vendor had for sale. 'I'm in a fine mood; perfect for a bit of spluge spending,' Ventus thought, humming a little tune in pure happiness.

(Timeskip: After purchasing the two Ranc Berries)

Still in a good mood from his windfall, he went over to the jeweler he visted previously, and decided to haggle for a better price for the pearl. The merchant treated him well last time, so why not now?

[After I get this money, and do a few more purchases, Ventus will head back to the center {bar anything unusual happening...}]

The vendors at this festival know about the Shellder game and won't budge. It's possible they even have a deal with that other man.

Larry is running around trying to do everything all at once. In this, he somewhat succeeds.

Str: (1) He's 14 years old. He swings the hammer, which weighs nearly as much as he does, but the little indicator doesn't move.
Dex: (1)(3) Larry falls off the tightrope into the pool of water. Oshawott merrily pulls him out.
Vit: (2) Larry cannot hold his breath for all that long either. Oshawott is disappointed.
Insight: (6)(1)(2)(2) Larry's mathematical brain computes the number of jelly beans to within 50. He earns $151.

"Oh, alright. I have a feeling your holding back, but money on hand is better than wealth in my pocket," Ventus says, before exchanging the Pearl for $600 PokeDollars. If he were a stingier man, he would have waited until the next town to sell the pearl, but while wealth appreciates in time, he didn't want to wait THAT long. 'Take what you get, and make the most of it. That has always been the motto of my life, besides helping others anyway I can. Now, time to restock on some items...' the researcher thought, leaving the jeweler to go on a spending spree.

Ventus, in spite of his usually gentle nature, was prowling the stalls like a Persain, buying 2 Potions, 2 Pokeballs, and one Flash Ball for a steal, saving $160 PokeDollars on his purchases (Pokeballs + Potion = 800 * .2 = 160 , so Ventus spent $640, plus $200 for the Flash Ball)! Content with all his purchases, Ventus began to head back to the Pokémon Center. On his way, however, he spotted someone with what looks to be Snivy Stuffee in there hands. Staring at it for a few seconds, he remembered Shiva's fascination with Grass Pokémon, and an idea formed in his head.

'Well, I could straight up reimburse Shiva for her cost, but perhaps a special gift would be a suitable exchange,' Ventus thought to himself, before deciding to go over to the person and offer to buy the stuffee off there hands. If the price is right, he'd be willing to part with the rest of his money for this wishful offering.
