I quite like the idea of private messaging to settle a time before having a bigger conversation. Think it would be quite fun this way, and the pace wouldn't suffer at all.

Second choice would be the fast-forward-thing to activities and having the conversation in flashbacks.

Another option is that we still PM the info/what our character what to talk about ahead of time, but we wait for a time to make the 'big talk' post, converting meta knowledge into in game knowledge. That way, we could still do battles and encounter without messing with the course of ongoing events, and have a 'set' date when everyone can post frequently enough to have an in game discussion (that isn't stalled, obviously). Then, we can actually use the knowledge in a way that's more organic and contusive to roleplay, without sacrificing free form.

This option depends on the circumstances. Like, I don't think Nathan would like postponing a conversation with the mercanary... (Unless something happens that would need immediate action?)

That is true. I could have Ventus end the 'interview' early for the shake of his mercenary, but that runs counter to my goal of re-establishing trust between my chara and Nathan. Oh what to do, what to do. It would also be nice if Nylon also checked the thread every 30 minutes or so to see if we posted or not. I get the impression that he doesn't do that all that much...

What I do is "Subscribe to Thread" and then keep my email open, so it dings whenever someone makes a post!

Asynchronous conversations and actions are perfectly fine. The only thing I am reluctant to do is have things happening tomorrow get posted at the same time as things happening today. The conversation takes place on Thursday and Sawsbuck blooms Friday, for example.

But soon it won't matter, because Nylon will probably join your party and the order of events will become less important.
