[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Spade doesn't know where the bees took his hat. "That's your job to find out," he says.

In response to Nathan's yell, Geodude pops out from the familiar RV and flexes his arms.

Nestor Round 1

Growth
Acc: (2)(6) - Cottonee is a little nervous about the crowd and the presence of so many machines and pavements nearby, so there's no bonus. But Cottonee does expand to twice her size!

"Dratini, use Thunder Wave! My Dratini relies on her dragon type moves too much," Nestor explained. "Fighting a Fairy-type is an excellent challenge for her."

Accuracy: 2 Dex +2 Fight + 1 Canalize
(2)(2)(4)(5)(2)

Cottonee is paralyzed.

"Ah, there you are!  So, it seems we've got a bit of a problem with some combee in the town...seeing as you're a rock type and all, I was thinking that everyone would appreciate your help in driving them away.  I don't expect you to do it for free of course.  I've got some food I can share, and we'll make sure to fix ya up afterwards if those bees hurt ya any.  I'll make sure to keep any unwanted attention from trainers away from ya, too.  There's, uh, a lot of combee, and not many trainers want to help out it seems...so, would ya be willing to help?  I'm sure everyone would greatly appreciate it..."

Well, this was more awkward than he thought it would be...asking a wild pokemon for assistance is something not a lot of people do besides Rangers...

"Paralysis. Good catch." Only now Shiva has noticed that a small crowd has gathered up... Were they watching this battle? Oh my... Eh... Nope, calm yourself - now is not the time to get nervous. Advantage is on your side, you just need to play it out.

Noticing that Cottonee was throwing nervous glances at her owner... "Focus, Cottonee! Please try to only listen to my voice, I'll be right here, so do trust me on this." ... "Concentrate, try not to mind the Paralysis, you'll be all healed up later without lasting damage. Now, show me a boosted Fairy Wind. Look closely at the effect on Dratini!"

Orders for this round: As said, use Fairy Wind.

Effect: Damage. That is, if we hit.
Secondary Effect: None.
Pain Penalization: 0 so far.
Accuracy Roll: 0 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Channel = ... 1 dice. Oh well.
Damage Roll: 2 Strenght (+1 due to Growth)+ 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 5 dice
Additional notes: -2 Dexterity due to Paralysis. 1 Autodamage due to super effective.

Fairy Wind
Acc: (5)
Dmg: 5 dice, -2 vit = 3 dice +1 dmg
(4)(5)(4) Dratini takes 4 damage from one hit, leaving only 3 hp and a -2 pain penalization.

"Wow! What a hit! Dratini, focus on a Wrap so that once you grapple that Cottonee, you can relax a bit!"

Wrap
Acc: 2 Dex + 2 Fight + 0 Brawl -2 pain
(4)(2)
Dmg: 1 power + 2 Str -2 vit = 1 dice
(3) No damage, but Cottonee is Wrapped.

Wrap damage: (2)(4) Cottonee takes 1 damage.

Valder goes with the rest of the group to the combees, while looking for the hat.

Valder turns to Larry, "Your crush... do you like... love her? Do you have strong feelings for her?" Valder blushed at his own questions. "I mean... nvm. Where does she live, far away?" Valder was surprised at his own curiousity. 'why would I care about that' he mused quietly to himself.

Geodude follows the four of you to where the posse is forming up. It consists of four party members, Geodude, Zamboni, and two other assistants.

"What Pokemon does everyone have?" asks the gym leader. "I have Delibird with me, who has two effective moves and a big defensive advantage against Combee. Oh, a Geodude, that is also good. Geodude, you would do well to use Rock Throw, if you know how. Here, you can borrow my Hard Stone, but I need it back when we're done."

He nods in approval at Swiftfire, and agrees that all your Pokemon are fit to fight the Combee.

The two strangers have water types and normal types.

Zamboni leads you to the south of town. A buzzing yellow wall looms above the buildings. Occasionally, pieces of the wall rearrange themselves.

"Next festival, we are going to play Combee Tetris!" says Zamboni. "But for today, I'd say let's not provoke the Combee in the walls. Tread carefully, look for clues as to why the Pokemon are swarming, and if you see the Vespiquen, the word is 'negotiation.' Or you can send her to me if you can't cut it."

You enter at a gap in the hug wall. Beyond are more and more walls of Combee, a staggering number of the Pokemon, forming a sticky maze. Following the entrance for a bit, you come to a fork.

"Let's split up. The four of you know each other already, and you have that Ponyta for offense and Pawniard for defense. These two will come with me - that makes a group of three and a group of four. We'll go....west!" He turns right and the two eager trainers follow.

Your party goes east, and Geodude follows. The wall zigs and zags until you come to another choice. There are three ways forward, but one is a clear dead end (straight). From the left you can hear an increase in buzzing. From the right you can hear a drip, drip, drip...

The Combee Maze: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgMhr7k-We4

"Hmmm...buzzing and dripping...considering Vespiquen are basically mobile hives, it wouldn't be surprising if that sound is coming from her. The buzzing is probably a swarm of Combee, though they could be swarming around their queen or something else entirely...which way do you guys think we should go? I'm fine with either, though I'm leaning more towards traveling towards the dripping sounds, to be honest."

Swiftfire is a little on edge right now. There's a LOT of bees, and it's making her just a tad uncomfortable despite the type advantage. Ralts is sticking close to Nathan, who has his hand on the dull premier ball, ready to recall the little guy if things start getting out of hand.

"I'm with Nathan on this one, I think we should go towards the dripping. If I count as a vote that is".

"Theo," Valder turns to his Pawniard "I know you like proving your strength, but please do not attack these Combees, at least don't start a fight with them, focus on defence if anything. Okay?"

Valder looks around to see if any of the Combees have the hat.
