As Shiva walks in, he immedianlty notices discomfort from her, which only grow when he see her spot Nathan. Ralts and Nathan level of nervousness and foreboding, on the other hand, spikes the moment they start talking to each other, and it only seem to be growing the longer they interacting. Adding one and one together, it doesn't take a Pokémon researcher to figure out that what is causing them to act so strange is each other. 'Oh dear, did these two happen to get into a spat while I was away? That would be...unfortunate, since the party is already recovering from my conflict with Nathan. Time to smooth tensions,' Ventus thought, speaking up at last to Shiva.

"Well, I went out to find Zamboni and ask him some questions regarding that hive, and Nathan eventually tagged along and took over the conversation. Not that I minded, since I learned several things regardless! After that, we headed to the Challenge board and decided to face off against each other. It was a close match, until the end, where his Combee gave my Shroomish a difficult time. He won, but I made sure he worked at it! I then went out to town to find a carny coin, came back empty handed, and finally did some training in the Center's gym. Overall, a busy and somewhat unproductive day!" he said, happily chatting about the event that transpired. If Nathan cared to elaborate on them, that would only help things, now would it?

Getting up and walking beside Shiva, he looked at her and said : "Now all that has been said, its time to bake some Poffins! I trust we have all the ingredient necessary? If so, let us make pace to the kitchens!"

Haha...unproductive although busy. "Zamboni... Wait, is that the Gym Leader here? I heard you need some Coin to battle him. But... you two battled? Really? Nice... Or rather, I hope none of you none your Pokemon got hurt..."

Oh dear Arceus, let's hope none of them gets the brilliant (not) idea to ever challenge Shiva to a battle...

At the word 'Poffins', together with 'let us make pace to the kitchens', her mood almost immediatly delighted. She's been looking forward to this the whole day, after all!

Therefore, she replied to Ventus with a smile before following him. Appearantly he did find a place for baking that is not an open fire place. Well done, since this was her biggest fear. "Well, I have everything... Most importantly a mixture and berries. Depends on what you have on hand, but in case something's missing we might just ask the staff here? "

"Oh, eh... One additional thing. I surely made poffins a few times already - but only at home. So...just...demonstrate, and I'll follow your lead. Fine?"

"Unproductive?  Hah!  Not what I think!  We both got some good training from that battle in one way or another, didn't we?  I'd call that plenty productive!"  Ventus's distraction seems to have partially worked.  "I also managed to get myself a Porygon from a round of Shuckleball earlier, and Ventus entrusted me with the female combee's care.  I have a full party of six now, though I hadn't been planning for that.  Spent some time just relaxing and getting to know my newer acquisitions a bit better after my battle with Ventus, as well.  All in all, I'd say it was a day well spent."  Nathan definitely feels a little more at ease because of that topic of discussion.  Still somewhat nervous, but Ralts is looking visibly relaxed now.  It was a good day.  New friends, fun battles...there wasn't too much to be worried about at all.  

"If you two want to go off and do some baking, that's fine.  I'll just wait here with my pokemon for Larry and Ventus to show up.  You can meet us back here when you're done.  They'll probably be back by then."

"Buy a Magikarp? You'd have to be a sucker. I'll give you $50 - I'm going to dump the Pokemon in the river and recycle the Pokeball."

to be honest I would have killed it for diner but I need the cash (and what would be what $5 USD isn't what I want from a fish) Larry is gonna hold on to this one and maybe train it close to evolving someone would then buy it right? (im wanting $500 for the karp, if it evolves price doubles)

Now, a Gyarados is a karp of a different color! You could get wwweeeeell over $1000 for that. And yeah a highly trained Karp might be worth more than this one fresh from the river.

As for humans eating Pokemon, it's considered barbaric and people will give you a wide berth if you tell them you plan to do it.

"We might need some milk, butter, and some sugar to help the batter come together, but the Poffin mix and some berries should make fine treats as is. If we are found wanitng of ingredient, however, then the staff should be able to provide for us!" Ventus said, putting to rest any doubts that lingered in her mind. Baking is a wonderful activity to engage in, especially with others to help out with the cooking! With Shiva's help, the Poffins should taste absolutely delicious!

When Shiva expressed some doubts about her cooking skills, the researcher smile as he patted her on the head. "That should be ample experience, but if you need a refresher in Poffineering, then I'd be happy to demonstrate. Now, to the kitchens!" Grabbing the lass' hand gently, he lead her into cafeteria hall and straight into the kitchens. The staff in there, when they spot them, were a bit inquisitive as to why they barged in unannounced, but a quick explanation cleared the air, and soon they found themselves some empty counter space to prepare Poffins.

Asking for Shiva to place her ingredients on the counter, he went around and got all the necessary equipment to make several batches of the morsels. He did a quick mental checklist, tally up everything they had to make sure they could start baking right away. "And....there! We have everything we need to start baking some magnificent Poffins! Since you asked for some guidance in this task, let me make one quickly for you. Now, watch carefully... (Insert Poffin Making video here)"

"Tracton? Porygon of the South, they call it. It's a weird foreign Pokemon - I think it's artificial, but maybe no one is sure? It's from a distant region called Tandor, a whole hemisphere away. It can be very fast. It's part Steel, part Dragon type! It looks like a piece of heavy construction equipment. Extremely rare, and possibly a better fighter than Porygon. Now, are you ready for Shuckleball, Shuckleball, SH - hm, two Pokemon at once? Just harmless little rodents? I'll allow it. Here's Shuckle's little brother!"

He tosses a smaller Shuckle onto the field. "Get him!"

Plus/Minus is for damage, while Shuckleball is supposedly about accuracy and finesse, but it will certainly make the attack more awesome.

Thunder Wave is described as a "weak jolt of electricity" or "a tide of bright lightning streaming" so I'll allow it. And it does use the normal attack roll, not something fancy and abstract like Growl or Charm would.

2 Dex +1 Fight = 3 dice apiece.

The little Shuckle goes FLYYING into the air, quite a distance for such a weak attack. But he's spurred on by the adrenaline and electricity flowing between the two rodents. He comes down directly into hole 3D - nothing but net.

Shiva wins a CarnyCoin and a Pokeball containing....Abra! It knows only Teleport, but hey, that's an insanely useful move. Ability is Inner Focus. Happiness and Loyalty 2, Disobedience 1. It's happy to obey you... for now.

Minun:
(1) - Shuckle becomes Bug type.

Minun launches a perfect stream of Stars at Shuckle, lining up the shot just right so Shuckle will bounce toward the back. But she hadn't counted on the invisible pit trap that opened up along her chosen course, trapping Shuckle right away in a scoreless pit. Angrily, Minun bounces up and down and flings sparks into the air, chattering wildly. She storms over to Plusle and gets the hugs she needs from him. Then both Pokemon come over to Mr. Pin and Shiva for more hugs.

Mr. Pin begrudgingly hands over Abra, 2 persim berry juices, and a CarnyCoin. "Maybe I should have tested the course a few times with that new Shuckle..." he mutters to himself. But he cheers up at Minun's antics. "A critter after my own heart!"

Transition to After Baking the Poffins:

With the baked goods created and safely stowed away for later consumption, Ventus walks into the lobby hand in hand with Shiva, where Nathan is patiently waiting for the rest of the group to join. A little messy from his time in the kitchen, he sat a few sets away from the young trainer, not wanting to spread his dirtiness. Apsis was still curled at the table, falling asleep at some point between Venuts' intervention and trip to the kitchen. Smiling at the sight, he quietly returned her, stowing it away with the rest of his family. Raphael feel asleep during the baking process, so they were recalled for a resful slumber.

"Tally ho, Nathan! Shiva and I Poffiin baking turned out splendidly, so we have plenty of treats for every Pokémon now! We also didn't start a fire or gotten seriously injured in the whole process, so that is a plus! Now that is over with, what is the news you wanted to share with us? (Assuming Larry and Valder is here with us)"

(Assuming everyone is gathered after the poffin baking since Larry's been enjoying the festival and Valder has been doing...something.)

"Alright, now that everyone's here, I'd like you all to know I intend to fight Zamboni tomorrow." He sets his two CarnyCoins on the table. "I've got two shots at it, and I intend to go battle him at the earliest possible opportunity. He's not gonna know what hit him." He smirks slightly. "I won't underestimate him, of course, but if I do happen to win on my first attempt, the second coin's serial number for battling Zamboni goes to Ventus so he can have a chance to face the leader too. You're all welcome to watch the battle, as well." He makes sure to put an emphasis on 'You're all.' While he's treading carefully around Shiva, he doesn't want to push her away. And Valder and Larry were welcome to watch too, even if they were a little more distant than Shiva and Ventus have been.

"So, keeping all that in mind, do any of you have any plans that might get in the way of watching the battle? If you want to watch, I'm willing to work around any scheduling you might already have. Zamboni is unlikely to be going anywhere tomorrow, after all."

Ralts looks incredibly excited! After yesterday's battle with Ventus and the fun he'd had, he was pumped up and ready for another challenge!

Thinking over any possible task that might cause some hiccups in his plans, Ventus shook his head at Nathan. "No, I have already run all of my errands, and I've participated in all that I desired to in the festival. Whatever time you wish to battle Zamboni will be fine for me. Just don't make it to early in the morning; we all need rest in order to function at 100% capacity. Especially you, so to be Gym Badge holder!" The researcher was grinning at the boy, excited that he was about to face his first trail on the path of becoming a world class trainer. He can't wait to see him in action!

Everyone take 1Xp as the new day dawns.

It's the final day of Shiva's job. The Daycare Couple are eagerly awaiting her advice.

The festival will continue after today, but it is usually a subdued affair, since the weekend's over and people are supposed to go back to work. It's considered the last effective day of the festival.

The big event of the day also involves Sawsbuck, just as the first day did.

He gets to participate in the Squirtle Race!
No Squirtle has ever won this race.

As is tradition, at least one Squirtle attempts a last minute Water Gun (one year it was Hydro Cannon!) to propel himself to the finish line ahead of Creshire Chrome, racing buck and pride of the East. It doesn't work. Flush with the energy of Spring, the famed Sawsbuck gracefully leaps through the red ribbon at races end.

Zamboni chuckles and you see him return to his gym. Now might be a good time!

There are ice-type acolyte trainers available to train on for those who wish to.
