[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Stunned was the right word to describe Ventus appearance right now. He didn't expect that the young trainer had that much advice to give! Once his befuddlement passed, however, a simple smile grace his face as he replied :"My my, you truly are your father son, given all the advice you tried to drown me in. Trying to take out the competition, I see? I jest, of course, and I thank you for all of the advice! The Shroomish suggestion does sound a bit mad, but I do believe it to be worth the risk, if nothing else! Now that I heard you suggestion, perhaps I was playing a bit to defensively. I do need to increase my combat capability, that is for certain now!"

Remembering that he offered a couple of Oran Berries for him to use, he rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Well, the berries would certainly help, but I would hate to deprive you of them. I have good fortune in finding berries, so I should find something to put on my Pokémon in the future, at least!" Ventus said, not wanting to impose on Nathan anymore than he had already. He already ask to borrow his coin AND Porygon; asking for more is certainly out of the question (Essentially, you have to force the berries on him, mate).

Thinking over things for a bit, he had something else to say to Nathan regarding Raphael, who was currently playing with his bright green tweed sweater right now. "Nathan, I have an question for you, if you don't mind answering. I believe Raphael, my little angel here, has learned Yawn, so would it be a good Idea to lead with that and follow up with Charm, or should I try dodging and waiting for the opponent to fall asleep?"

Nathan's shock at Shiva being there carries over into his immediate reaction.

"Uh, yeah...thanks, I guess...yeah, that's what the brief schedule coordinating session last night was for, but I guess first thing in the morning was too early..." Ralts still wasn't picking up any anger from her, but...was that a touch of nervousness? There was a lot of joy covering it up, but it was there..."Ahem..anyways..." He turns back to Ventus, eager to continue the discussion of Ventus's battle strategy for Round 2.

"If you want to try and fight him again before we leave, I'd highly recommend taking the Oran berries. It's no skin off my back, really. They're pretty common after all, and I have four of them right now. In fact, you can take 3 of them now. It's not like I'm super reliant on them right now, anyways." He pulls out 3 of the Oran Berries, and hands them to Ventus. "You were so close to victory there. You'll need any edge you can get to quickly reach and get over that last hurdle."

He ponders Ventus's question for a moment. "Hmmm...that's a tough question. Like I just said, Zamboni seems to be really good at landing hits, so dodging his attacks is going to be very, very difficult. Yawn could give you an incredible edge, but you'd likely lose a turn using it, which is a free turn for him to hit your pokemon...I'd say Charm first, then Yawn. The reduced damage is way too important, particularly since Yawn isn't instantaneous. If you end up moving after your opponent, though...then I might lead with Yawn, since you don't have a chance to reduce incoming damage, but they'll feel the effects of the drowsiness very, very quickly. Again, it'd be a lot better if you could pull it off alongside another move. Ensuring you land it and then taking advantage of their napping is quite powerful, after all, and landing both status moves on turn one would be a huge advantage."

Nathan, not one to take his reluctance lying down, all but forced the Orans into his satchel. Fortunately, he didn't smear any of them, and Ventus was once again stunned by his actions. "My...well, if you insist, I'll gladly take them off your hands then! They'll certainly help me out on in the fight against Zamboni in the future!" he replied, feeling quite chipper at the unexpected generosity. He kept on taking from, but the boy appear more than willing to help out. 'Its hard to believe we were so at odds with each other prior to Ginger Town, but its like we are the best of friends now. Truly, this festival is a wonderful, miraculous event!' the researcher thought, pleased that he is with such good company.

After hearing back from Nathan concerning Yawn, he nodded his head, finding the advice sound. "Hmm....it appears that Charm is truly the way to go in battle, then. Basically, try to apply Charm at all cost first, before I do anything else to my opponent, correct? Well, if that is the case, I believe that things will be much easier for me in the long run! That, or combo Yawn with a powerful Metronome! Once again, I thank you again for the great advice!" Fishing out an Oran Berry from his bag, he handed it to Raphael to hold. Just as they were about to eat it, though, Ventus tsked, and they turned there attension towards them, blinking. "Not now, my little angel. Save it when you are injured in a fight, not for a snack," he said, looking expectantly at them. Nodding their head and chirping in affirmation, they stowed the berry away...somewhere on their person. Looks like the little one is picking up tricks from his father! Michael, now used to the cool temperatures in the gym, hopped over to Ventus and prodded his leg. He would like a berry too, thank you very much! Understanding his intent immedianlty, he bent down and gave one to him as well!

Turning towards Shiva, now, he put on his biggest Growlith eyes on imaginable. "Shiva, since you have a unused Carny Coin, mind if I take it and attempt another battle with Zamboni. Now that I have been properly coached, and I have a few Oran Berries to my name, I stand a much better chance against him! If you want to challenge him yourself, though, then I won't stop you," Ventus asked, looking rather mournfully at her. While it was underhanded, he really wanted to get the Glass Badge before he left the city!

Oh, Shiva was clearly picking up that he was uncomfortable around her. He wasn't very good at hiding it, plus the way he was talking to her and how he was talking about the battle streategy. Mental note that he was quite enjoying the latter for a reason. My, the shock over her overreaction and determination to keep the egg of all costs must reach deep...

But, she was fine with giving him some space for now, and not stress on clearing up the matter just now.  Sort his own thoughts, and keep in mind the fact that she does not show any anger. Maybe this was what distinguishes her from Ventus here - Oh, she IS up to clear the matters, and get along well with one another again. But it's not that she worries a lot over this (already had some sort of breakdown as Ventus got to know what was wrong), and never would she stress on the matters to a level that leads to actions who would hinder the progress.

... ... ... How could she resist this? While...she was unsure what to do with the Coin anyway, she could as well help him out here. There was nothing that spoke against it. Plus, he proofed himself loyal, and his eager to give the Gym Challenge another try was almost snatchable in the air. Even with the coldness that lingered.

She took a moment though before replying on the request to withdraw Plusle and Minun to their balls. Both rodents were enjoying watching and cheering on the battle (No XP here, right? Is fine!), but appearantly they were not used to such an icy terrain, since they were cuddling up to one another as well as to Shiva in the hope of warming themselves up. The served hot cocoa helped as well on this.

Still keeping a soft tone in voice while replying to Ventus. Might be out of place here, but all the ice in the Gym was actually beautiful to her. "I...wasn't expecting to get one of the Coins, actually... Since I'm not up for the battle myself. Therefore, you can have it. Take good care of it "

*drawing the CarnyCoin from a side pocket of bagpack, and handing it to Ventus*

"However... I'd like to have it back later. Might even trade it for items if the offer is good later on the Festival. ... "And, since I missed out both of your Gym Battles anyway, I might as well go find another one of these Trainers here..." In fact, Shiva picked up that, apart from being half-asleep the whole time, Helios was at least listening to her for now. "But, don't feel inclinged to attend my battle! Just...mind your own business, if you don't want to wait for me..."

(Yeah, right Iron, please bring up another Trainer for me! Conditions stay the same: Double Battle, Cottonee and Abra on my side, against Water/Ice Type if possible. Rolling out one Round after another, because I'd like to elaborate on Abra a little mote this time.)

When Shiva arrives, Ralts looks surprised, then....smug. It is an interesting expression to see on the young Pokemon's face. He gives Shiva a hug around the leg. Then he gives one to Nathan too when Nathan opens his mouth to talk to Shiva.

Larry's playing the Shellder game, for Rachel.

(6)(2)(4)(1) He isn't sure where the Shellder is - he lost it at the last second.
(4) He guesses wrong. No pearl for Larry.

How..weird... She could not really ready anything from the expression the young Emotion-Pokemon was showing. But, given it had no problem approaching her, it must have picked up that she's not mad with his owner. Before Ralts turns to him, he gets some gentle strokes over the green parts of his head! Carefully avoiding the red horn on purpose, since this is a sensitive spot on the species.

A trainer named Auger has a special proposition for a battle: "So, I have a rare Pokemon, a Lapras. It's quite strong, not the thing for a new trainer. But what if you battled it two against one?"

Otherwise, the only other trainer in the gym has a Cloyster and a Smoochum.
