[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
I guess we'll go with it. Feel like posting on the forum and asking why?

If you want to, go for it. Check and see if its in the errata post first, though, I'd say.

As for my guess as to why that is...well, making illusions of yourself is probably a lot more effective than making yourself smaller...multiple targets and all that, as opposed to just one...

...and it's also less dangerous, since Body Slam, Heavy Slam, Stomp, Steamroller, Dragon Rush, Flying Press, Heat Crash, Phantom Force, and Shadow Force do double damage to anything that uses Minimize in the games, and they don't miss starting in gen 6, either! (not sure why the ghost type Force moves are on that list though, to be honest...it's not like they squish the opponent...)

And oddly enough, Astonish, Needle Arm, and Extrasensory had the same double damage quirk in gen 3...

I never knew that. Pretty clever!

Quite interesting to know that certain stat boosting moves causes you to take double damage from certain moves, like Earthquake and Magnitude doing double damage to Dig users! Any other move that causes this phenomena?

Thunder, Gust, and Twister can hit airborne pokemon in the middle of Fly, Bounce, and Sky Drop, with Twister and Gust doing double damage. Sky Uppercut can hit airborne pokemon too, but lacks double damage, much like Thunder. Whirlwind will also still hit them!

There's also Dive. Surf and Whirlpool can hit pokemon currently underwater and do double damage as well.

And finally, Dig. You already got Earthquake and Magnitude with their double damage, but did you know Fissure can still hit underground pokemon as well? (Earthquake and Magnitude will hit guaranteed, but Fissure can still miss)

And on a related note: Mind Reader, Lock-On, and No Guard all cause your moves to hit regardless of the invulnerability stages caused by some moves. No damage bonuses, but your opponent can't dodge your attacks at all without Protect and Detect! Of course, they can also do the same to you if No Guard is your perfect accuracy method of choice...

And as a bonus: Swift would NEVER miss in gen 1. Even if the opponent used Fly or Dig. And protect didn't exist back then. If you used Swift, you hit your opponent guaranteed. And it was a TM back then, too!

And as a second bonus: Smeargle, Articuno, and gen 1 Poliwrath are absolutely terrifying creatures when they use Mind Reader. Smeargle has access to all 4 OHKO moves and Mind Reader/Lock On in tandem with all sorts of other support moves, Articuno has Mind Reader and Sheer Cold (only Sturdy will save you from that, or an Ice typing in gen 7), and Poliwrath could learn Fissure via TM in gen 1 and Mind Reader upon being traded to gen 2 or 7. There's also gen 1 Machamp, who can also use Fissure, but our No Guard + Fissure dreams were crushed when we found out all pokemon transferred from gen 1 to 7 through Bank have their HAs guaranteed...

Bring his hands together in a *Clap!*, Ventus grinned at Nathan in happiness. "Excellent! I don't mind what Pokémon you will be using, my friend, but I rather not knock it out if I can. From my experience, that's a way to get cause a Pokémon to become more disobedient, not less. Besides, I want to test Ariel prowess against such a threat, and I think using Porygon would good practice for it, like you said!" he chatter, keeping a Keen Eye on where the Scyther might be located. The atmosphere of the forest seems to help in his concentration, as he appears a little more focused than in the past. (6 XP being spent to level up Channel by 1 Point!)

That cost 8. First post under gaining experience.

"I changed it so a new skill costs 8XP instead of 6."

Channel's a specialty, not a skill.  Specialties cost 6 exp times their level, 6 minimum.

Whoops. Misread that.  Blush

EDIT: Which also means there errors in my old math... but eh. Doesn't matter now.
