[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
@Nylon , if you wish, Valder can come with Ventus. Assuming Ventus invites him, of course, which is up to him.

There is a path leading to the doctor. The woods press thick against the path, filled with the chittering of Bug Pokemon.

Up ahead, you can see the path is blocked by some large blue-and-white obstacle. Could it be? Is this the infamous Snorlax, blocking the path?

No! It's actually a HUGE Poliwhirl, asleep in the path, taking up the whole area from tree to tree! It occasionally throws a little punch in its sleep. Maybe it is dreaming of being a Poliwrath one day.

Zonked out beside the sleeping Poliwhirl is a human figure! Checking, you realize his heartrate is abnormally low and his skin is clammy. Something's definitely wrong!

Shiva, if you wish to give Ventus suggestions, I will take them into consideration when autoing him.

"Ah, we don't have the other wedges anymore. I think there were a few, but I only ever saw the red one in there. We were told they weren't as good as this one, which is pretty great. They wore robes. They spoke pretty normally - couldn't really tell from their manner of speech that they weren't from around here at all! They sounded just like a Creshire native. They carried hiking sticks from their long journey from the Chicory area, and they'd just bring what materials they needed in Pokeballs. Nice folks."

(I'm still here, just that I've been held up by family for awhile. This might be my last post until maybe sunday or Monday. Maybe sooner if the motel I am going to stay at has some wi fi.) (Valder is also free to join Ventus. Just make it happen, eh?)

Walking through the woods was peaceful affair, filled with the sounds of Bug types shuffling in the undergrowth and canopy. Ventus was enjoying the scenic route, when he suddenly stopped and shivered violently, the sensation racing from feet to the tip of his head. The researcher immedianlty was put on edge, as, since he was in warm climes and wearing a sweater, he had no natural reason to be cold.

'Something is wrong. I have no understanding of what has gone to pot, but it isn't good if I can pick up ill omens from this far out. Have to be on guard, if the situation escalates into madness yet again...' Ventus thought, beginning to look uneasy as he continued his journey. He hoped that his true feelings were well hidden from Shiva, but she was remarkably perceptive of his mood. Perhaps there was a little fae in her...for good or ill.

His suspicion were proved partially correct when he came upon the frankly giangatic Poliwhirl taking up the path ahead, and a person that was in dire need of medical condition. Quickly handing of the Shelmet to Shiva, he rushed over to them in order to check out what was exactly wrong!. "Shiva, hold Shelmet for a moment, I have to see what has befallen this man immedianlty. I may not be a medical doctor, but I do hope that my college education can suffice in finding out what thrown his bodly humor out of order!" the researcher said as he passed the Pokémon over to the young lass, making quick strides to the downed individual.

Order: Try to find out what exactly is wrong with the person, and apply the appropriate treatment (If he has it on hand). If Ventus is unable to do either task, he's going to pick up the person and go around the Overgrown Poliwhirl and rush to the doctor's house. If can't get around it, Ventus is good to force it Awake by calling Apsis out and telling her to use Thunder Fang on it repeatedly. If time was not of the essence before, it is now!

"Sounds like it.  Odd that they knew about Genesect though...did you know it's a mythical pokemon, not just a mere legendary?  Few even know of its existence.  In fact, it didn't even exist until several years ago.  It was a fossil pokemon, but there was some sort of process that was undergone to make it tougher, faster, stronger...oh, and give it that absolutely massive cannon that it has on its back.  And that was in Unova of all places.  It's truly one-of-a-kind unless more have been made since the first.  Makes me wonder how those travelers knew about it...well, thank you for your time, sir.  The tour was great, and I appreciate your answering my questions."

After saying farewell to the Ranger Chief (and probably baffling him with that smidge on genesect's origins.  No need to worry him by telling him it was Team Plasma who made Genesect), Nathan pulls out his journal again and scribbles a few more notes.  He has more questions than concrete answers still, but they'd probably have to go to the villages around Chicory Lake if they wanted to find out more...and that would be a hard trek.  There aren't any well maintained routes to the lake from any point in Creshire.  The closest place to it would be Stair City...

Well, setting that aside for now, Nathan decided it was time to do a little training.  With a little bit more work, Staryu would be able to learn a new move.  Porygon and Kirlia could use some more practice too...in fact, Porygon could probably learn a new move in the process as well...and maybe practice a new technique...this could be interesting...he could send the combee on some more honey gathering in the meantime, too...

Training time!
- Nathan's going to teach Staryu Psywave, Porygon Psybeam, and Kirlia gets to practice Double Team and Teleport, his newest moves.
- Nathan's also going to have Porygon start practicing Conversion to change to Psychic type now that he has access to Psybeam (here comes the fun!)  Complicated training orders, I know.  Good thing he's going to be working primarily with Porygon once Staryu learns Psywave and leave Kirlia to his own devices with the training.  One thing at a time in this Psychic training session!
- The combee duo are also going to go gather some honey while this is going on.

Should Ventus and company return to the village now, or in the middle of the training, Nathan should be in sight of the statue when they return, since he's not really planning to go very far without the rest of the group.

"What Pokeball, what medicine? Please tell me sir what you need exactly, and where it is. I know you are unwell, but I can't treat you if you don't give me specific information," Ventus calmly said, trying his best to project a soothing tone of voice to the unwell man. He decided to look around to see if there was a Pokeball around the man's vicinity, as well as what could be the medicine he was talking about .

Order: Ask man for more info, then search the area and his person for both of the items he specified. If he find neither, continue as if he could not treat the man, and the sequence of action that proceeds that scenario.

Alrighty, no training rolls there.

Also just remembered I meant to give Shiva 1 Will Point for the spa.

Before Nathan knows it, Zippy is back. But he has no honey, and he has no Princess! He zips around and around Nathan's head!

Valder follows Ventus with content. After a while, they encounter a Poliwhirl that looks more like a Snorlax. Next to the Polilax (isn't that a cool name?) there's a man begging for something to Ventus. Valder doesn't know what this means and just stands there wondering what this is.

He has Theo out and starts patting his helmet-head gently to comfort himself. He makes sure not to cut himself on one of Theo's several blades though.

Yay! He let her join! Another trip to the forest, this time not alone but rather with Ventus and his mercenary. She noticed that the latter did not talk much, even less than she does, but he did definitely not pose any threat or harm. He seemed older in age than Ven was, but for some weird reason he did not looked depleted or scared from...wherever he was and whatever he did before. She did not feel uneasy around him, not at all. As long as he proves his ability to keep that Pawniard under control, it will continue this way.

The forest was deeper here. The chattering of Bug-Types was clearly audible here, but luckily there was a real path to follow. Better not think about what may happen if one gets lost here... The foliage around was as bright and warm as seen on the part before the town, and gave Shiva a cozy feeling, like being cuddled up in a warm blanket on a cold day. Still, that Fire-magic Guidebook mentioned... That caught her attention. Maybe... are there any Fire-Types that call the Fireweed Forest their home? That sculpture of a special foxlike Pokemon argued for that. They'd probably like the colors around, all the benefits the forest provides and would be more than capable to defend themselves from vile Bugs. Maybe that library she spotted on the way to the path they were currently on would fill out any gaps of information... (likely no, if there are only books for entertainment. But she can still ask an NPC around in town!)

She was so lost into that thought, that she did not pick up Ven's sudden shivering.

She only looked up as he and Valder stopped halfway. Huh... What was wrong? Then... Oh. THAT was wrong. A Poliwhirl was blocking the path. And what a huge one! Didn't know they can become so big in size...

But that was not important right now. It was blocking the path in his sleep - It didn't move much, nor did it notice a little group of people approaching, so she assumed it was sleeping - while they had a sick Pokemon to deliver. Such a behavior cannot be tolerated!

Before she even realized there was a PERSON laying nearby the Pokemon though, Ventus already stuffed the Shelmet into her arms, right beside Aurill in her beloved top hat. (Yes she's still carrying around the blue mouse outside her Pokeball.) At the sudden adding of a Bug-Type the mouse shivered a little and pressed herself closer to Shiva. Oh... Hmm, things may get serious. Azu shall not suffer any damage or experiences that might have a bad impact on her. She placed the top hat down to the ground, told them mouse in a soft voice "Listen there, Azu. For now, you need to return to you ball. Safety reasons, maybe you hear all the chittering of bugs around. I don't want anything to happen to you." and withdrew her then.

Then, she called out Minun. The rodent was yawning at first upon being called out from a pleasant slumber, but was high at spirits rather quickly at the sight of her caretaker and all the noises around. Maybe there are Pokemon to electrify nearby? Then, she turned to Valder. "So... listen... Can you take care of this Shelmet for a moment? I want to investigate that Poliwhirl, but the Pokemon we have to escort shall stay safe." *assuming that he accepts* She handed him the Shelmet carefully, giving him her thanks and turned towards that Poliwhirl next.

She approached it slowly and steady, taking care not to be in range to be hit by any movements it might make in his sleep.

(This is where any Insight Roll comes! Maybe I can find out why that Poliwhirl is here before we try to wake it up.)

The sickly man slowly regained consciousness, due to the drug's effects wearing off. Still unable to stand or easily speak he motions toward his bag beside him. Being sick since... Well as long as he could remember, he realized he had over dosed on a drug called Valium...again.
"Soda might be nice right about now." Sage thought not taking the situation as desperate, unlike the man leaning over him. "And who's this chump? He's too worried if you ask me." Sage didn't notice the girl standing nearby.
