[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

They're back... Safely... In one piece. She let go of Ventus to welcome her rodents back in her arms. They were not hurt... No pain... They're fine.

Just scared... No wonder, at the sight of an enraged Arbok looking down on its prey... with a toxic gaze... a hungry gaze...

... ... ...

One last attempt... Maybe he'll listen...
"Ven... Stop it." Not much more of a whisper. But he'll hear the words anyway... In this silence now... The battle has come to an end.

Seeing that the Mega Pinsir was finally put out of action, Ventus let out a small sigh of relief, before focusing his attention on the drowning man once. 'Judging by flashes on light I saw during the battle, I would say that he was trying to retrieve his Pokémon, and perhaps somehow escape us. That is not going to occur on my watch,' the researcher grimly though, deciding to change his initial plan of action. Seeing the rodents scurry back to Shiva, and hearing her plea for mercy, he looked a bit downcast at what he was about to do, but he went through his action regardless. Whatever it takes to protect his friends, he will do, no matter the cost.

"Apsis, return to shore with Pinsir, and make sure its tightly wrapped up while you ferry it to me. If this person want to retrieve their Pokémon, they have no choice but to come to us. If they attempt to summon anymore Pokémon , or tries to interrupt your transport in any manner, immedianlty clamp down on the bug's skull with Ice Fang," he loudly says, making sure that his voice reaches everyone in and around the lake. Bobbing its head up and down in confirmation, Apsis began her swim back to her master, hoping that bug's foolish master tries something. She hadn't eaten since yesterday night, after all!

While Apsis was making her journey back to Ventus, he flick his wrist again to retrieve a Pokeball from...somewhere on his person, and quickly depresses the button. Out popped Ariel, who blinked curiosly at the new surrounding, before turning somewhat grumply to her master. Seeing how serious he was jolted her out of that state, however. "Ariel, I know you do not exactly respect me much, but I have an important job for to conduct. I need you to dive into this lake, search for a robbed man, and bring them ashore. I believe he's a possible threat, judging from the emotions I picked up from him earlier," Ventus said, sternly looking at his somewhat errant Corsola.

While not on exactly good terms with her new master, she knows better than to challenge him in the mood he's in now, so she gives a cry of affirmation, before waddling over to the lake. Seeing both Pokémon doing their perspective tasks, and coming to the conclusion that the battle was more or less completed, Ventus used his free hand to retrieve his phone from his pocket. Turning over to Shiva, who was still clutching his arm protectively, he gave her a comforting smile.

"Be calm, my dear friend, for I believe that this battle has been terminated. I'm going to give Natha a call, informing him that we were held up by some ruffian, and that it might be some length of time it takes before we meet him," the researcher told her, patting her shoulder gently to assure her that all was well in the world. When he flipped open his phone, however, he noticed he gotten a voice message from the young trainer in question several minutes earlier. "Strange...what provoked Nathan to message me so earlier?" Ventus said allowing, angling his phone so that he and Shiva could listen to whatever notice the boy had sent. If it was important enough that caused Nathan to actually call him and leave a message, it would only be fair to let the young lass in on the details!

Music: Uh oh.

A few click and a minute or so of tensing spoken words later, and that smile on Ventus faced was completely erased. In its places was an angry scowl reminiscent of the one he gave that bog wizard so long ago. 'I knew it, that trainer is a blight on this region! The boy doesn't outright say it, but I can tell this Trubbish bag deserves no mercy for trying to destroy my companion. He will pay for his transgression, as no one dare harm my friends without CONSEQUENCES,' he though, letting out a snarl while snapping his phone close. The researcher has some very important questions to ask that man now...

Order: Have Apsis bring the fainted Pinsir to me as Insurance that the man doesn't just try to run off, and has orders to kill it if said man even attempt to interfere with the transport. He will also have Ariel dive into the lake to search for the man, and bring him back if able. Now that Ventus is caught up with that person's activities, he not going to be such a nice guy for now. At least, not with them.

Thank Arceus... Thank Reshiram and Zekrom above... He did hear her. And more important, he listened to her words, too. It's alright now... We won. In the very end, we won. Danger's eliminated... Hopefully...

Finally the threat was neutralized and robbed man out of sight. Sage let out a sigh and retrieved Rufflet and Poliwhirl, closing them back into their balls. He then crossed to his two new companions. The term wasn't the best but neither was it incorrect, after all the three of them had faced two decently sized threats. After reaching them Sage politely asked if he might remove the Mega Stone from the Pinsir, for safe keeping of course. Sage liked the idea of having this much power.

Although not being a very level headed person in calm and quiet, Sage could easily be trusted in a battle. He wasn't one to lose his calm or kill in the heat of the moment; however, his judgement on life and death was highly questionable. Sage hated himself for it. Killing in cold blood was almost a second nature. It was who he was, it is who he is.

Orders: Try and retrieve the Mega Stone from the Pinsir.

Indeed, the Mega Stone is glittering there. You can decide who holds it, at least for now, or you could bid XP for it if you can't agree.

But you're not sure if the League will want you to have it.

Slowly, Ventus turned to face the mysterious man, his anger visage completely absent from his face. Now, the researcher was just had a wide smile in its place, one that show no visible signs or wrath or distress, but that somehow felt wrong none of the less. Tilting his head at the man, he let out a low chuckle, looking faintly amused now. That merriment never reach the researcher eyes, however. "Oh blast, I knew I was forgetting something important! You may certainly attempt to obtain the Mega Stone from that insect. If you have any trouble, however, let me know and I'll have a crack at it," Ventus said, his tone of voice silky smooth to the ear, yet somehow all the more discontent for it.

"Ah, before you try, may I have your name? I believe you didn't give it to me last time, and I can't just be thinking of you as a stranger, now can I?"

"Yeah sure..." Sage said, oddly disgruntled from the way the man was looking at him "It's Sage. No need to tell yours or Shiva's, I picked up from your conversations." Sage then attempted to remove the stone. After taking it Sage looked at the yellow and orange orb contentedly. Then putting it in his bag, Sage waited for the Corsola to return.

Corsola comes up empty handed! Ventus can tell Corsola found something of interest down there, however. Presumably, Corsola did not even encounter the man in question.

"Hmm, Sage....such a venerable name, isn't it? Pleasure to meet your aquantence, sir. Now, if I may, can I politely ask for a favor?" Ventus replied, his voice never once breaking its even, smooth tone. Flipping open his phone, he replayed the message Nathan had sent earlier warning him about the Pinsir Man. Once the recording was finished, he flipped the phone closed and put it away, before focusing his attension back on the young man.

"As you can tell, the man we just fought has turned out to be among the most disagreeable sort imaginable. While I may have his Pinsir in my care to prevent any rash action on his part, I would still feel much better if I had another pair of hands to help restrain him. Wouldn't want him to try to be clever at this point, hmm? So, how about it sir?"

When Ariel broke the surface of the water to inform him that the man was now missing, Ventus smile twitched for a moment, before it resumed its regular intensity. "Oh my, looks like this Pinsir is not too important to the man after all. Oh well. Ariel, would you mind retrieving the item you saw?" he said, looking at his Corsola expectantly. Getting a cry, it divided back down to retrieve it. In an utterly calm manner, he detached himself from Shiva, and walked forward to Apsis, still carrying the knocked out Pinsir.

Giving the bug a thoughtful look for a few minutes, he shrugged his shoulders in feigned non-chalance. "While the man did escape, I would like you to hold off eating Pinsir Apsis. Given that he was able to use Mega Evolution at all indicates that he shares a strong bond with the pinch bug, so he will likely be back to retrieve it at some point. Continue to guard and transport it until I say so, and Be ready to use Ice Fang on Pinsir at a moments notice if its trainer tries to get them back, or if it looks like it regains consciousness. Can't let such a valuable asset be lost so easily now, correct?" Ventus says, looking at his Arbok expectantly. He very much desires to see his sister have a crunchy snack right now, but the insect was more valuable alive than dead at the moment. That could change at, though, and a part of the normally kind hearted researcher wished it would.

A little unhappy that she would not be getting a treat right now, she obey her master's command. She remembers when he was like this, and while she was a mighty Arbok now, even she didn't want to provoke his ire!

Waiting for Corsola to retrieve the item for him, he then returns it to her Pokeball and marches back to the hut, calling out to Shiva to follow after him. He came out here to get paid for a trainer's Shelmet to be treated, so he's not going to forget about his original task. His encounter with Nathan's tormenter...well, it was a nice bonus!
