This game is now the biggest genre bait and switch since Muv Luv.

Is it such a bad thing, though? Its a lot more exciting that it turned out like this, I think! Or at least interesting, which is still enjoyable in some fashion!

Ventus is going to be a bit...unhinged for awhile, at least until he return to town with the Shelmet, collects his reward, and turns over the Pinsir to the authorities. After that, or if the bug's trainer tries something dumb like attempt to get it back (Oh nom nom!), he'll start to settle down into his happy self. If enough time passes before he meets Nathan again, they might not even be able to tell if he went Unfettered at all!

Depends on what you signed up for really. But if the table is having fun...

Corsola does not dive down, just frowns at Ventus as if he's a fool.

Still smiling, he very nicely ask her: "Well, why can't you? Its a simple request, so what reason do you have to deny me?" The way he says it, while still in that lovely tone of voice, would send shivers down a normal person's back (or what constitute that feature for certain Pokémon).

Windos.  Corsola.  Coral.  Can't really move individual 'limbs.'  It's not that she doesn't want to.  It's moreso that she can't...

I think Ventus might be getting a bit blindsided by his rage...

So it lasts for a set or two of encounters, and then some downtime is required to recharge it.  Alrighty then.

Corsola can hold items meant for Pokemon at least, in some mysterious way. Berries and Hard Stones and the like. Small things.

She has her mouth, Dragonstrike. Either she can use it to pick up the item and bring it back to them, or drag it back ashore if its to heavy/cumbersome for her to lift. Its not an impossible task, but you are not wrong about the Blind with Rage part...

Well, yes, but whatever it is, I think it's too large for her to pick it up with that tiny mouth (Corsola are only 2 ft/0.6m tall, including their coral branches, after all). Corsola also aren't exactly known for their overwhelming strength.

If all else fails, improvise! Or just give up and go back to town after trying everything, I suppose.

Order: Sometimes, you have to do things yourself. After Ventus retrieve item of interest (if he can), he going to continue on to the hut, wait for Shelmet to be treated, then return to the village to both collect his reward and turn over Pinsir to the authorities. After that, he's going to meet up with Nathan at the Genesect statue. Apsis has standing orders to murdalize said Pinsir if trainer attempt to spirit it away without parly, so...

It's quite late in the day.  That's three rounds of encounters worth so far.  Nathan's wondering what's taking everyone so long...

Hmmm...what would he be doing while all this is going on....

If Nathan is worried, he could go searching for him. Ventus did tell him exactly where he was going, and the general direction and mission if he did not. Asking around town for the way to the medicine man out in the woods, then going searching for the group is proactive, if anything else.
