Suddenly, out of nowhere, Ventus had the inexplicable urge to throttle something into the dirt. Startled, he looked around to see if anyone in the area that was particularly incessed, but they was no one that match that description. Lucifer, who was still nestled in his shirt, looked up at him and gave a questioning screech to him. Shaking his head to clear his mind, he responded with : "Its nothing, my little devil. Let's go find my friend Shiva; she's a joy to be around, and she'll treat you just as kindly as I am!" With that, he went off to search for Shiva, feeling the urge to see her all of the sudden!

His business with the bugs concluded, Nathan heads back into town to see what Shiva and Ventus are up to. It's probably about time they gathered everyone together and started heading towards Corsage.

"I forfeit," Ventus declares, raising his hand in the air while recalling Corsola before she could make a fuss at his decision. "I refuse to participate in a fight that gives me little to no lee way when it comes to taking damage, and not being able to heal my Pokémon in response. Hear is your prize money and Pokeballs, sir; I wish you interesting times in your future battles," the researcher continue, dropping the money and items in the surprised man's hands. Suffice to say, quickly left the area, deciding to go to the trading board immedianlty than hang around any longer. He's already in a bad mood, so now is the perfect time to make a unpleasant decision...

Nathan runs into Ventus first!

As he was searching for Shiva, he happened to run into Nathan roaming around town. Lucifer, seeing his master recognition of them, popped right out of his shirt and flew over to them, and began to search for gold on their person, poking and proding everywhere on the young trainer. Seeing this behavior, the researcher rushed over and shouted ,"LUCIFER, NO." Startled, he detached himself from Nathan's shirt (It was about to do an oral search), and flew back over to his master, snuggling back inside there shirt.

Giving an cutely inquisitive screech at the researcher, Ventus couldn't stay completely mad at them. He was still disappointed, however. "You don't invade someone's personal space like that, even if you are investigating for goodies. Well, unless I say you can, but that is besides the point. Please don't harass my friend like that again," he said, giving his Niobat a stern look. Tilting his head for a moment, Lucifer bobbed its head up and down in agreement. He loved finding golden objects, but not enough to cross his new master over it!

Smiling at his little devil's response, the researcher scratched them behind the ear, earning him another grateful croon. "Sorry about Lucifer's behavior, Nathan. He formerly worked in a gold mine, so the little dragon developed quite the adoration for the glimmering substance. I obtained them in exchange for my Scyther, since I felt that attempting to raise such an viscous Pokémon while under the Cheshire's League's scrutiny was a poor decision. That, and I doubt Uriel would have appreciate me as his master, after taking him from the wild," Ventus says, shrugging his soulder in resignation. Lucifer, noticing his master's movement, mimic his gesture, earning another laugh from his master!

Noibat describes to Ventus that Nathan has some kind of Butterfree-shaped charm on his person!

Ventus already knew this, of course, having given it to him in the first place.

Nathan's startled by the bat's sudden frisking, falling over in surprise!  Kirlia is winding up a quick Confusion in response!

Fortunately, Ventus was quick to stop the intrusive actions before they got to out of hand.  Kirlia calms down, but is wary of Ventus's new companion.  Nathan gets up and dusts himself off.

"Well, that's not how I expected to be greeted, that's for sure...

"Do anything else while I was talking with some bugs?  Those chats went rather well, by the way.  Well, as well as they could have gone, that is."
