Okay, that came a little unexpected to her. But the words reached deep, and only underlined his presence and determination. A purpose in life...

Shiva is lagging behind the group a bit when a strange rock falls from a broad cliff above, nearly hitting her! The rock rolls itself over, revealing a big pink gem and a glowing purple eye within! It's not a Pokemon Shiva recognizes, but it's obviously a Pokemon of some kind!

It's pretty interesting that it is Ventus who selected this particular encounter. You'll see why eventually!



Ventus, flat on his bum, looks up to see that he was accosted by a Spearow! He doesn't need Noibat to know what Spearow is holding, for it is very odd and notable. In each wing, held as though it were a samurai sword, is a leeklike Stick! One shorter, one longer.

Spearow lands and advances on Ariel cautiously, holding the sticks in front of him. It looks like he knows how to use them! whatever that means. He takes a few menacing swipes with the sticks, threatening Ariel but not actually wounding her, an interesting feint.

Ariel's initiative: (1) + 5 = 6
Spearow's initiative: (2) + 2 Dex + 0 Survival = 4

Valder considers helping Ventus/Shiva find herbs. As he's about to enter the woods, he finds a very weird mushroom that he recognizes with his high Survival skill. This is a Mooshu Mushroom, highly sought after by Swinub and also by restauranteurs.

This amazing mushroom can heal 3 lethal damage, or fetch $1800 at many of the restaurants in Corsage Port.

Nathan cracks his knuckles and gets ready.  "Let's do a Double Battle.  Not often you get to test yourself against two trainers at the same time in a fair fight.  I'm sure you also remember my first pokemon.  I can tell she remembers you."

'Why in the name of Reshirim is that Sprearow wielding Sticks, of all objects? Did a Farfetchted teach them how to use them, or is it actually a rare Ronin Pokémon, like my formor Scyther Uriel? Either way, this is most perculier...' Ventus though, staring at the strange bird while still sitting on his bum. Ariel, glancing back at her master and seeing that he had nothing to say, began to Harden herself for the fight, before launching a single massive bubble at the Spearow!

Order: Ariel will use Harden first, then a single Bubble attack in sequence. Then she'll use Bubble twice per round there after. The goal is to knock out and loot the bird's body, then just leave it alone for some other Pokemon to come prey on it. What the heck is up with that bird?

Oh, she clearly noticed that she was somewhat lagging behind. Fennekin was trudging alongside her. Maybe Shiva even did that on purpose to have some sort of space and/or solitude to recover amd reenergize from the herb-gathering-scene. Ventus' story was still resonating inside her... Occasionally punctuated with song lyrics. Well, now she had a lullaby that would remind her on the Sociologist.

Therefore, she was darn suprised as that rock fell to ground directly beside her. So suprised that the instinctively leaped backwards out of range and hid behind a well-trimmed strub to watch what in Reshiram's flame just happened....

Eh... Was that a Pokemon? It must be one... But she couldn't tell what species it was. Reminded a little on a Roggenrola. Just 'modified'... Was it a local variant like found in Alola? Hmm... Or it's from that place Mr. Pin called 'Tandor'... Fact is, it looked like a Rock type. A little astral, maybe.

Whatever it was or not was, she wanted to have it. But since she knew nothing about that weird Pokemon, she had no idea how to properly approach it... Guess we'll catch it the classical way, then.

She ordered Fennekin to stay by her behind the strud, and called out Minun and Azurill. The latter was nestled in her comfy top hat, as usually. Soothe Bell still attached to her tail. She picked the mouse up to carry her in her arms. With a lowered voice, she revealed her plans to the two: "Okay, eh... Minun, you see that rocklike Pokemon there? You too, Azu? ... Good. We're going to catch this creature. Minun, I wish you to use Thunder Wave on it please, paralyze it so that Azu here can weaken it a little, so that I can step forward and attempt a catch." ... "Alright? Please make sure not to let this creature get a away!"


Orders for this round: Minun will use Thunder Wave on that Comite. If it fails in the First Round, continue until it succeeds.
