I'm glad was able to get both the statue and a Berry without having to give the local wildlife a mauling! See, Ventus knows how to not to be overly ruthless to all Encounters, only just some of them! Though, I wonder if their is anything special about that ceramic Dragonair, or if its just something rather fascinating to the researcher. Maybe Nathan can shed some insight on it, given that he's the resident Ruin Maniac of the group...

Also, what are you going to do for Sage's second encounter slot, Iron? A training session, perhaps?

@Dragonstrike, I have Plusle and Minun as constant source of electricity. Don't know how the Joltik would react to hear about that, but feel all free to mention this towards the spider!

Nathan didn't mention it because he's not sure how Shiva would react to the request.  It's in the back of his mind though, particularly since Plus and Minus create a LOT of static electricity.

Perhaps they would, when it evolves into a giant tarantula. After all, some of the biggest species of spider actual hunt and kill birds/mice IRL, so that is a factor to consider if you are going to introduce your electric mice to the electric arachnid! Joltik might not have such an appetite right now, but what about its evolution...

As Bruce the Shark once said: "Fish are friends, not food."

If the mice and spider establish a friendship early on, that whole predator and prey thing should be a bit less dangerous.

Of course, we all (probably) know how it ended for Bruce, but...well, let's just hope the predatory instincts don't kick in. Since Galvantula aren't naturally disobedient, that shouldn't be an issue down the line if we account for it now.

@Dragonstrike and @PhantomUnderYourDesk : Well, since Nathan is a native Tandorian that doesn't endorse 'natural' feeding habits of Pokémon, its unlikely that he'll let his spider develop that habit, unless Ventus voices concerns. After all, Ven is a strong believer of catering to a Pokémon's nature/personality when ever possible, so he might not like it if Nathan outright denies Joltik evo from eating other wild bugs/small mammals! Hopefully if the issue is brought up, they can resolve it peacefully...

Yay, Joltik's ability is Compound Eyes! We're going to be having some fun with that! (and not just if and when we find a TM for Thunder)

Fury Cutter and Electro Web are going to basically have +1 accuracy instead of -1 now This is gonna be fun.
