TMW we have a chance to get some rest, but we've been at this for so long that the party member who was already asleep has woken up...I'm very glad the potential difficulties were all resolved before they spiraled any more out of control though, at least...

By all means, Phantom, interject! Nathan's pretty much said his piece, so now it's Shiva's turn...

Phantom said Shiva wasn't going to let either of the guys kill Rattata, right?  Should we take that into account for whether Ventus stands down now, or wait for Shiva to say her piece?

Umm, I would wait until Nathan has a chance to agree or disagree with Ven last entreaty with them, before having Shiva going wicked witch on him. That could backfire spectacularly if you charge in like that! We had to do an entire retcon of part of the encounter just because if we didn't, shit would have hit the fan so hard, the campagien would have likely died from it. So....delicate touch on this scene's pulse, my love, ok?

Nathan's still at a loss about what to do, so if Shiva wants to say something about it right now, I'd say that might be a good thing here.

Besides, this whole thing I set off was to try and help further the bonding once Shiva decided to join in on that mandatory encounter.  Something I failed spectacularly at a few hours ago, but...nah, I got no excuses.  Again, sorry for the scare

She won't go wicked witch. Not right away. She has quite a control over her emotions, after all... it depends.

At this point, Ventus might give up for Nathan's shake of mind, but not necessary's Shiva's. He KNOWS that Shiva is aware of his viewpoint of 'Survival of the Fittest' and 'Preventative Action', so he's not going to necessarily buy any arguments on that front. If she does manage to get him to back down on this, she has to come up with a compelling reason as to why you would leave a murderous Pokémon on the lose, ready to maim its next victim trainer.

If she fails, Ven will appear to let go of things...but then he'll just sneak out latter when everyone passes out, and just track down and 'dispose' of the Rattatta. After all, what they don't know can't hurt them, right?

Well, Shiva can still talk with Nathan about the Rattata encounter after this whole thing with Ventus is over if she wishes.  He might be a bit of an emotional wreck right now, but Shiva did just prevent him from doing something completely out of character.  He appreciates that greatly, and would be more than willing to talk.

Well, Shiva can still talk with Nathan about the Rattata encounter after this whole thing with Ventus is over if she wishes.  

She'd indeed play emotional counselor to Nathan, but only if she appears to appreciate it in-game. After all, she wouldn't want to invade his space and make things worse.

Doesn't have to be this in-game night though. Maybe him an Kirlia getting some well-deserved rest would be a better idea. If I had Helios with me, I'd even offer Nathan to use the Abra's teleport to get to the Pokemon Center for healing Kilria's wounds properly and to sleep over in a dorm there. Within a circle of salt, of course.

He listened, all right...and pretty much was motivated to do the exact opposite of what you desired. Appealing to an high amoral person at worst, and Uniquely morality inclined individual at best with a emotional argument just is not going to work at all. If anything, Shiva speech has catalyzed him to make his move now, since its apparent to him that, since no one else is willing or rational enough to see that Jumbo Rattatta has to go, then he just has to do it himself. Before, he would have given up on the quest just for Nathan's well being, but now that he's riled up, I doubt that will happen now!

Looks like we are having that battle after all, Dragonstrike...

You people think a Pokemon battle will solve things? Haha.... NOPE. I don't think so.
