[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Kinda hard to prevent tension from forming if it's ever present! Considering that Nathan doesn't like the fact that Ven and Shiva are dodging his questions about Kirkland, and the MANY conflicts that our chakras get over about Poke murder, Nathan's demon dog is just another bit of discord, really.

It is difficult to prevent ever present causes for tension, yes. Nathan's probably not going to try and keep it a secret, unfortunately. It's too intriguing for him to outright ignore (particularly after he caught it), and trading it away is probably a bad idea for many reasons. He's not really the type for keeping unnecessary secrets, either.

Hopefully everyone's a little more tolerant of the dog when Nathan explains his reasoning...and when Starmie inevitably Hydro Pump and Bubble Beams the dog when it starts getting rowdy.

@Nylon

There's penalties for trying to command 3 or more pokemon at the same time. And if you fail any of the necessary checks, then bad things can happen...

Oh. ummm... does praying to the rng god help? or is it set in stone?

 What are the penalties?  thx, btw!

Well, it's your call in the end about telling us of the captured Delta, but you have to deal with the consequences. Shiva will not hate you, as far as I can imagine now - how could she ever? But she might begin to be subliminally scared of you and the dream demon in capture, even more than she was of Apsis, regardless how much he assures that he takes good care of it. It still does not belong to our world, and least of all to a young Trainer in her view. It's nothing personal though, really.

Given that Ven will become overprotective of her after we escaped creepy dreamland, she might just jump onto that.

Your Pokemon have to make an Insight check or they could wound themselves badly, and learn to mistrust you.

Also @Nylon I forgot to give you XP for your Houndour battle - Why don't you just take 1 point in the Canalize specialty instead of XP? I'm trying to catch you up to the rest of the group a bit.

I think you are forgetting Ventus pathological fear and anger. He will NEVER, EVER trust that dog, and will be just waiting for the chance to put it down with justifiable cause. You are better off just giving it to Dr Mallorn for his own research, and getting a suitable reward for such a specimen. Less fuss on Ven's part, and Dhiva won't be terrified of the demon.

First of all, all the pokemon you're commanding have to perform an Insight Check.  If they score 2 or more successes, they act normally.

If they don't, though, terrible things might happen.  For example, when Larry tried to do this with Nincada, Oshawott, and Ekans earlier in the campaign, Nincada ended up riding Oshawott into battle (and neither ended up doing the intended action) and Ekans tied itself in a knot trying to figure out who it was supposed to use Wrap on (and gained a point in Disobedience).

The GM can also inflict penalties on the Insight Check if the situation is hectic and crowded (Larry had a slight penalty since it was 3 of us VS a single Scimitar with no pokemon.  5 Wild Pokemon vs 3 trainers with 2 pokemon each is bound to be worse)

You can still try it, but I doubt it will go well at all.

Canalize is primarily used for boosting Accuracy rolls.  Very, very important.  Make sure to level your specialties too in addition to your attributes and skills.
