Canalize is primarily used for boosting Accuracy rolls.  Very, very important.  Make sure to level your specialties too in addition to your attributes and skills.

So now I get 3dex + 1fight + 0brawl +1canalize =5acc?

On Froakie's Bubble, yes. (it doesn't use Brawl though)

On Feint Attack and Lick, no.  Those two moves use Brawl instead, ignoring Canalize completely.  It differs depending on the moves used.

All moves use one Attribute, one Skill, and one Specialty in their accuracy calculations.  Gotta check the book carefully to see which moves use which stats.

Typically, physical attacks will use Brawl in their accuracy, while special attacks will use Canalize.

A given attack will either use Brawl (Melee attacks) OR canalize (ranged attacks). Froakie is mostly Canalize right now.

Let me know how many Pokemon you end up sending out, now that you know the consequences.

Canalize/Channel is mostly for the ranged moves, practically those that use Special Attack in the Games. It's my favorite speciality together with Perform! Brawl if for Attack. Just take a look at the Accuracy Rolls of moves stated in Corebook, @Nylon.

Wait... Handing Delta Houndour to Professor Mallorn doesn't sound that bad, actually. But I doubt Nathan himself would agree...

It is a good idea potentially.

The issue is that Nathan isn't going to trust the Houndour to even consider listening to anyone except maybe him, seeing as he's the one who convinced it to leave its original pack.  And even that's going to be shaky.  If he were to just hand it off to someone else?  Well, that already thin thread of trust is probably going to snap.

I see. I had ignored the differences so far since they've been so compromised. I know about the mechanic. I just assumed that there were no such difference in this story. Now I know, thx again.

Ghastly will stay and... Netflix and Chill? And I've got insight up by 1. So I should be okay-ish.

AKA: It's similar to what Ven explained what would happen if Nathan tried to order around and restrain Apsis: utter CHAOS. Horn, catch 22 indeed... I still think that Mallorn is both capable and clever/ resourceful to restrain and study the being. Ventus is going to say as much, and strongly hint that the best idea besides killing the damn thing.

The other catch is that Mallorn, being a businessman primarily, might not be overly interested in an entirely new subspecies of pokemon...which might only worsen matters.

Every Pokemon can be taught obedience or at least not to tear its surroundings into pieces, it just depends on how to approach it and determine what it needs. Ask Shiva's father, he knows. It's a process that needs time, extra attention and experience though, it's nothing to be done while walking. Professor Mallorn would a good call! I guess... Nathan also lives nearby on his ranch, so he could see the dog whenever he likes?

Wait, why WOULDNT Mallorn be interest?! It's a brand new sub species of Houndour! His corporate researchers and scientist would clammer for the opportunity to study the being, if not try to breed it and sell them at a premium. Ventus could always ship it off to Unova to the dream researcher if all else fails, as she would Also LOVE to have such a specimen.
