[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Ven was rather up front about the secret and the reason why he kept it, so why the backlash? Seem a bit incongruous to me...

Trust issues, yo.  Never good things to have, and that was like setting off a ticking time bomb.  It was building up ever since Nathan first determined that neither Ventus nor Shiva were telling him anything about that, and hearing that they did it to him a SECOND time...

Well, it wasn't going to be pretty.

Guess that gym battle might have to be delayed for a bit.

Ven's not one to let his emotions, no matter how hectic and frantic they may be, get him down. After he's trained Lucifer, Michael, and himself more, he's going to hit up the Gym ASAP, as he want to get out of Corsage relatively soon.. Well, after visiting and checking on Shiva and another night of dock work, of course!

Also, now that the bomb has gone off, will it be safe to talk with Nathan about this issue in the future (and others like it), or will this forever be a sore point for all of them? If it's the later, we'll have a damn hard time keeping the group from imploding on each other...again.

Sadly, Nathan's influenced a lot by his emotions. He can keep a cool, logical head for the most part in battle, where there's enough distractions to keep him from experiencing the worst symptoms, outside of it, that focus just disappears.

He's pretty aware of that by this point, though, and he's trying to mitigate any damage he might do.

Of course, he might cause some indirect damage as well if he doesn't reappear by the end of the day...

Nathan's probably going to be pretty difficult to approach for awhile.  He'll try to keep his head once he returns, but it could be...more difficult than usual for him.  He's feeling pretty betrayed, sadly.

Of course, the easy solution is to tell him the most important part about that secret: that it has something to do with bringing down Almanac.  But that could be a bit of a stretch, understandably.  It would, however, conclude everything that's causing problems since he'd finally know why.  And 'why' is a pretty important word for him on just about everything.

Ventus plans on covering for him if he's a no show and Shiva starts asking about him, then sending a voice message asking if he's alright, and where he is at. Ventus tries his best not to let things spin out of control, so deploy damage mitigation!

Problem is that not only did Ventus vow not to say anything about the detail of the Daycare mission, but I also promised Phantom that I have to keep my Chara's trap shut on this matter, and stop bringing it up/investigating it. Unless Nathan starts his own crusade for answers, tries to force the truth out of Kirlia, outright gives up or you manage a back room deal with a Phantom themself, your character will be remains mostly in the dark, mate.

Only consolation I have is that Venus at least won't string you along or outright lie about the matter, Dragonstrike. Sorry...

This only really happened because while Nathan promised Shiva he wouldn't ask her about it any more, he hadn't said the same about Ventus.

Forcing the truth out of Kirlia isn't going to happen. He'd feel too guilty about that. If Kirlia were to tell him willingly to spare him further pain, maybe, but that's up to Iron (and Phantom?), not me. And it would also beg the question of how Kirlia would communicate it in the first place if he did...

Giving up on the matter...he might stop trying, but that doesn't mean he'll forgive and forget if he does.

Unfortunately, there is still the matter of how betrayed he feels as well...whatever the big secret is, he just doesn't understand why his friends can't seem to trust him enough to tell him...well, anything about it, really. That's going to take awhile to repair fully...though he'll try and fix as much of it as he can before he attempts to face Ventus and Shiva again...he doesn't want to completely explode in front of them, after all...

So,  Nathan's not only furious about being kept out of the loop, but being denied his last recourse for some actual answer? I can understand now just why he reacted in the manner he did. Having your last recourse yanked away would hurt , no matter how gentle the removal might be.

Ven would love nothing more than to bring Nathan in a the secret, if to just make him feel better about all the pain he's been out through, but he'd end up breaking his promise to Shiva, causing a whole new pile of trust issues to deal with. The lesser of two evils is simply let Nathan remain ignorant and maintain the Viterolic Friendship they just are just in love with.

If you want to be scevy, though , there is this plan: you could just have Nathan send Porygon 2 to ask for answers, Ventus could happily tell it (Its not a person, so he's not breaking his agreement!), and it could just compose and email/text file with the relevant information and give it to Nathan itself, along with a postscript that tells him not to let on about knowing the secret. Ven gets to keep technically 'keep' the secret, and Nathan is let into the loop!

...The fact that I'm coming up with covuluted ways to break Ven's oath with Shiva really says how much I dislike this whole secret thing to begin with. I thought it was a bolucks idea, and it's done no good beside trigger Kirlia's evo.

Unfortunately, Nathan doesn't know Ventus is willing to look for loopholes, so that's gonna be hard to pull off.

Nathan wants to be a good friend to both of them, he really does.  But all these complications and such...he needs some time to think now.  It's time for some character development!

...once @Iron gets back and figures out what's going to happen from Nathan going into the woods alone with just his pokemon for backup (and no repel scented tent for the night if he happens to stay out there for an extended time).  I've got no idea what might be out there, so I'm withholding making any concrete plans for what he'll be doing there until I've seen what the potential options are.

Definitely on the to-do list though are getting to know the Delta Houndour, gathering some more honey, maybe teaching Grid Screech and/or Fury Cutter, and potentially leveling Fight to 3.
