[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel
#51
(Windos, Petsian has 1 Hp left, not 2)

"Alright then.  If you want to play dirty and evade everything, let's see you deal with both of them when they're focused. Weavile, one more Revenge. Arbok, a single acid spray if I tell you to strike (Basically if Persian doesn't faint from Revenge). I don't want that cat harmed past fainting, got it?"

Revenge
Accuracy: 7 + 2 Single Action = 9 D6
Persian faints if it connects

Acid Spray
Accuracy: 7 + 1 Coil + 2 Single Action - 2 Blinded - 1 Pain = 7 D6
Damage: 6 - 2 Vit = 4 D6

Wild Shiny Persain Round 3.

The Persain knows its game is up when it stares down at its two absolutely furious opponents, and decides if its going down, its going all out! With one last burst of speed, it races towards Arbok once more, and readies a furious assault!

Fury Swipes
Spending a Will Point to ignore its Pain Penalties!
Accuracy: 9D6 - 1 -4/5/6/7 Actions = 4/3/2/1 Dice Pools
Damage for each hit: STR (*4) + 1 + STAB + Technician - Vitality (*4) = 3D6 per hit

Fury Swipes 1
(6)(1)(3)(2) Hit
(5)(4)(4) Arbok takes 3 Damage

Fury Swipes 2
(5)(3)(3) Hit
(2)(3)(1) No Damage

Fury Swipes 3
(3)(5) Hit
(5)(5)(5) Arbok takes 3 Damage

Fury Swipes 4
(4) Hit
(6)(3)(2) Arbok takes 1 Damage; Total Damage Inflicted: 7; 3/14 HP remaing for Arbok

Exhausted and her pain returning with agonizing force, the wild Persain gives once last defiant look towards the giant snake, before her legs colasped under her, leaving the feline sprawled onto the ground, unable to continue fighting.

Arbok, Weavile, and Reiner gain 7 XP for the drawn out, danger wrought fight.

The Shiny Persain is barely managing to remain awake, with only 1 HP remaining.

What are you going to do?

"Oh? Finished already?"  Reiner chuckles.

"Alright, Arbok, that's enough.  We'll get your wounds treated soon."  Reiner recalls the snake for now, and sends Kingdra out in his place.  And then...he starts slowly clapping?

"Well done Persian.  Truly, WELL done. You're quite the skilled battler.  Now then, I don't imagine you want to faint at the hands of my Weavile and Kingdra.  So, how about we strike a deal? You come with me, and they won't land the final blow.  It's already a win-win, but I also happen to know someone who would take VERY good care of you.  You won't have to put up with me for too long, and I can assure you he'll treat you much better than I would if you refuse.  I'll also get you patched up if you accept.

"So, what do you say?  I'm sure that all sounds much better than fainting."

One way or another, this Persian was coming with him, and Weavile was ready to let loose with a Revenge if given the order.  A mix of intimidation and persuasion...if this cat knew what was good for it, it'd come along quietly since it was already too tired to fight back.

The Shiny Persain, while an exemplar in stubborn and pride behavior exhibited by her species, was not too full of herself to blindly refuse in this situation, and analyzed what being offered to her. The man and his Pokémon won't faint and/or kill her, they will repair the damage it inflicted, and someone desires a wild stray like them? Only thing she would lose is her pride , but it was clear to her what needed to be done to ensure her survival. Swallowing any trace resentment or egotistical fancy they had, the feline just huffed a sigh of acceptance, closed their eyes, and passed out.

Reiner uses one of the Great Balls he bought to catch her without resistence. A quick analysis from the ball's built in holographic readout showed that it had one Surprise (+1 Luck), but knew all its egg moves, Nasty Plot, Punishment, Slash, Screech, Fury Swipes, and Pay Day. Starts out with 1 Happiness and Loyalty for the mercy, praise, and kindness bestowed on it. Shiny or not, living as a stray Pokémon in Celadon City was harsh, so they know they are better off with you than out here.

Once that had been settled, both you and Weavile start collecting the scattered Poke around the nest, and see what the Rare Items are.

Poke Collection: (19) You both collect $1900 Poke
Item #1 : (9) A bag of Stardust is found (Cost: $1500)
Item #2 : (20) ...

Almost completely hidden by the Persain nest, never the less it drew your eye, like a Venomoth to the flame. Crounching down to unbury the treasure, you are dumbstruck by what you see. With a hint of reverence, you slowly pick up your prize, disbelief clearly present on your face.

Its a Key Stone. A bloody damn Key Stone.

You don't know how in the hell a wild Kantoan Pokémon got such an invaluable item, but you didn't care. You still had a Key Stone in your hands...

Wait...was that...Reiner has to look at the round stone for a moment...he could feel it pulsing with energy...a similar one to that Arbokite he was carrying...

It was what it looked like...a Key Stone...

"Hehehehe...hahahahahaha!!  Ooh boy, we certainly hit the jackpot, pal!  Well done!  Well done indeed!  That Persian is getting a special treat later for this!  Alright, let's see what this cat can do..."

Looking over the information, it definitely looked like a fierce and experienced fighter.  A couple of useful egg moves, Pay Day, Nasty Plot, Fury Swipes, Slash, Screech, Punishment, all of its base moves...in fact, it having so many egg moves was strange...either this cat had been a stray for years, or someone had abandoned a specially bred one...well, regardless, it had certainly been wild.  This was bound to knock off a nice chunk of that pokemon acquiring quota.  And the festival hadn't even started yet!  As Reiner leaves the alleys behind once more, he can't help but wear a smile on his face.  This had turned out to be an extremely good day.  He had made a small profit, captured a shiny for the boss (which just so happened to be his favorite pokemon on top of that), had an extremely good battle, and acquired a helpful tool for the nighttime excursions.

Thinking about it, this cat could potentially help Weavile with his Pickpocketing if it managed to get a Key Stone of all things...considering it's shiny, that's actually incredibly impressive.  The sparkles probably created its own set of problems for would be thieves...he'd have to think carefully about that before committing to any decisions on that front...

Back at the Center, he gets Arbok immediate treatment for that wound the Persian had inflicted.  That wasn't going to earn the cat any friend points with the snake, that's for sure...Reiner didn't fully trust it either right now, to be honest.  He did just beat it up after all.  Still, it seemed like a reasonable pokemon.  Knew what it could do to save its own skin, at least.  Persian's treatment was a lot faster than Arbok's for obvious reasons.  Before collecting Arbok from the nurse and heading out again, Reiner heads to a back room to have a little talk with the kitty...with Weavile and Kingdra in the back, of course.  Kingdra also being buffed up with a Dragon Dance and Focus Energy beforehand.  Just in case.

Reiner sets down a plate with a nice, juicy fish for Persian to enjoy, then lets the cat out of her new pokeball.  Persian just glares at him for a moment, but doesn't make any moves to attack yet...Reiner had shown some mercy earlier, after all, and Persian also knew she couldn't take two of his pokemon at the same time already.  Weavile returns the glare.  Only one feline here truly belongs to Reiner, after all.  He'd work with the sparkly cat if asked, but tolerant was the most Weavile was likely to be of the new feline...

"Glare at me all ya want.  That fish is gonna spoil if you do that for too much longer, though.  Go on, enjoy.  You've more than earned it.  You've made me a very happy man, so I thought I'd give ya a little treat as thanks.  That round stone you collected at some point is going to be very useful for me.  Besides, I can't just hand ya off to my boss immediately.  You'll have to put up with me for about a week, so you'll have to get used to the company for now.  Trust me, though, it'll be worth it.  When it comes to Persian, my boss knows his stuff, and you'll be a real welcome sight for him.  Particularly since you're a skilled battler."

The Persian pans her head over to Weavile, tilting their head at them with an unfanthomable look, before using Scratch to cut its tasty fish treat in half, picking up the head piece, and padding over to him. It then promptly dropped it in front of them, then hunkered down submissively at him. Prideful or not, she knew that the artic feline was the Alpha cat in this new party of theirs, so engendering some feelings of cooperation and positively between the two of them would be the wise thing to do. That, and she found the strength of Weavile to be rather attractive, when it was not being used against her...perhaps there is a chance she might find a mate yet?

The shiny turned her attention back when Reiner spoke, and gave them an irritated glare for being interrupted, but quickly calming down when she heard him discuss her reward and ultimate fate. Putting a paw under its chin in a remarkably human gesture of contemplation, before they nodded to themselves. Using the same paw, it waved it in a semi-mystical way, trails of energy wafting off of it, before it place it down back on the floor and opened its mouth. "That sounds acceptable, master. If your boss is as affluent and amenable as you imply he is, I can tolerate you being my wardern  for now. Especially if its only for a week; heaven knows I have been in far more uncomfortable situation for much longer."

What. What? That Persian can speak?! And in a convincingly female human, if somewhat rumbly , tone of voice? How?!

Weavile just raises an eyebrow at the submissive gesture.  Well, at least she knew her place.  Though he's equally as surprised as Reiner when the Persian speaks...

Reiner has to take a moment to process this.  He just stares at her, wide eyed for a little bit...

And then he starts laughing!

"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!  Well, never thought I'd see that little trick from another member of your evolution line!  Aren't you just full of surprises?

"Oh, I guess I should explain.  One of our other teams actually has a Meowth that can talk.  No idea how, but let me tell ya, that trick is going to make the boss appreciate ya even more.  Being able to talk with pokemon, however indirectly?  That, is a valuable asset.  I take it that's something you picked up yourself?"

The Persian just tilts their head at the morsol of information he gave her, before they shrugged to themselves. If anyone one of her species has gained the ability to talk like she did, it was no major concern of hers. "Hmm...yes, its a trick with Assist I picked up 20 or so years ago from my old master. She was a lonely old woman that didn't really have anyone to talk to, so she helped teach this method of communication to keep her company. May her soul rest with Arceas... moving on. Its a skill that I rarely bother employing, given how I preferred to live an independent life in Celadon away from humans the vast majority of time. Then you come along and curtail my hermit lifestyle with that handsome Weavile of yours," she said, giving an appraising look to the feline in question. Yeap, she's definitely interested in him!

" If it was just Arbok with you, I would have had him for supper like the many other of its kind I have meet, before driving you off from my territory. Ah well, life works it mysterious ways, as I have well learned. My name is Felicia , if you care to know. Oh, and yes, I know its a stereotypical name for a Persian, but it was not something I had a choice in. Being a mewling kitten makes it difficult to voice your opinion on matters..." Felicia then focused on eating the fish that was given to her. It was actually high quality seafood, if she recall from her luxerous meal years ago. Maybe there is a chance she can dine on caviar once more...

Hmmm...he waits for her to finish eating before asking his next question.

"Well, I don't think Jessie and James' Meowth talks using Assist, but it's still pretty useful regardless of how it's done.  So, how'd ya end up on the streets?  Just had nowhere else to go?  Sounds like you used to live a pretty good life."

Weavile raises an eyebrow again, somewhat confused.  Handsome?  First that little girl, and now this Persian that can talk?  What was with all the compliments today?

Pausing for a moment, the normally haughty feline ears dropped a bit at his line of questioning, but that was the only visible sign of sadness from Felicia. "...My old master died, as I implied earlier. Her estate and myself were inherited by her estranged son, but I refused to be a lap pet of that insufferable, spoiled, ungrateful brat. I escaped into the city streets one night, and ever since I have been surviving in the 'wild'. I'm about 42 human years old by now, and I would say had been doing well for myself, all things considered. Rough in the beginning, but I swiftly learned how to defend and hunt for myself in the narrow ally ways and rooftops, occasionally stealing from humans that I happen to come across," she said, before a cat smirk crossed her face at she eyed him playfully.

"Almost like you, for example. Despite my....glimmering appearance, I am well learned in the art of stealth, and I know how to make myself 'discrete'. Perhap with that roughish Weavile of yours," she says, padding over and circling around him, do a full review of the black cat and quite liking what she saw, "We can lift some valuables of the unsuspecting passerby, or just conduct quick grab and runs and beat a hasty retreat. Whichever suits my master and their partner best." She gives a Look directly at Weavile, smiling sultrly at him. Hmm...
