Chance dice aren't affected by curse so I'll add that in there.

I have my opinions, and I'll leave it at that. We may be winning, but I'm not having fun/a good experience, and if that isn't a failure of an encounter, I don't know what is.

This is normally true, but being challenged by a boss fight is fundamental to RPGs, and it's only been two rounds, and you have a companion player with you in this fight, so I think you should try to be more open minded.

I AM being opened minded about this, Iron. The fact that I have not just straight up quit the battle in protest and not exploding on you, like I sorta did with Officer Lumen, and just trying to grit me teeth and just power through this battle is remarkable for me. I'm doing this mostly for Dragonstrike and Nathan's shake, rather than my own. If it were just me, I'd have left already and never looked back, with a thoroughly bitter taste in my mouth.

Boss battles are supposed to be challenging, but their is a fine line between Fair/Fun challenges and Excuciating ones. This one is beginning to become the later for me, and since this isn't a life or death battle against a Legendary Enemy or Scimitars, I see no reason to suffer a battle that is unenjoyable, other than to get a Badge and XP I can get at other locations.

Whoah! Windos! Ven is entering magical terrain... Well, it's exorcism, but still - Shiva would be amazed of you. If she'd see it.

'Know thy enemy,' is a motto that is close to Ven's heart. Besides Shiva and perhaps Valder, he knows more about magic than anyone else in the party. He doesn't have the natural talent or inclination to learn how to truelly call upon the power of blacker magics, but he knows enough to be prepared for them. Exorcism, Prayers, and Warding Spells/Incantations/Rituals/Spell Arrays/etc , though, are something he quite aware of, given his predilection for Ghost types....

I see. That's rather cool... And it's interesting that despite all this, he still fears Fairies. And Magical creatures. Practically speaking, everything Shiva is has a fondness for. She's more a developing natural magician and herbalist, and is far from casting spells on her own and hold white magical rituals. However... Fairies can be as nasty as Ghosts.

I'm actually finding the challenge interesting. How do I deal with a situation where my pokemon are crippled and have few clear advantages? Ventus might not be enjoying it, but like it or not, he's playing an integral part in Nathan's strategy for this fight. Curse is powerful, but it's not insurmountable. If we encounter it later, for example, Lucky Chant completely nullifies it. Large accuracy and damage pools also help a lot.

Lucky Chant is mostly Shiva's speciality.

I know it is, but if things get really desperate and Shiva isn't around, Kirlia might pick it up later.

I hope it won't come to that, though. I won't even have the option later, though, since Gallade can't learn it.

It's still not a priority, since Nathan doesn't particularly need the effects, but I have found another reason to consider teaching it. If I decide to, Nathan might have to jump through a fe extraw hoops with Shiva first, I'm sure.

@PhantomUnderYourDesk: If Curse comes up in the Skull Ruins, Ventus is going to start asking if Shiva can tutor Togekiss the move, since they are always capable of learning this particularly powerful buff (In this game, anyway) and it would also fit their giving/caring nature as the Jubilee Pokémon. I know you want it to be your sig move, my love, but if ALL the Ghost in those ruins are packing it, we need more than one mon with the move, along with Cleanse Tags, Incense and Exorcism Chants....

It takes multiple days to tutor moves, though, so even if Shiva agreed to it, it'd have to be done before we entered the Skull Ruins.

And the only reason it might be considered is as a precaution in case everyone gets separated.
