Yeah...your right! I forgot to add that extra point of Vitality to all my Pokémon, so he could have just taken it without adding the change. My bad!

Also I know we're not doing the 1HP rules because Ventus already ordered Apsis not to hold back. Maybe we should make a habit of clarifying that right away from now on, although it's more for flavor than anything else. It's not League-standard, just a common agreement trainers make to keep their Pokemon healthy. Much like Nightshade's offer to Shiva, actually.

I think Gengar could almost certainly have timed his Destiny Bond to still go off at the victorious blow, though, so are you OK with leaving it as is?

I would have thought the 'remove from the fight' part of the order would have been enough, seeing as Porygon has only ever participated in battles with the 1 HP rule so far...the whole intent of the order was to try and avoid triggering Destiny Bond since it only works when the user faints.  If Nathan wants to faint the opponent, he'll likely state that in his orders if the situation doesn't immediately call for it (like what I just attempted to convey).

Seeing as Windos already dropped that card without me noticing though (during the very same round I stated the assumption that we were playing by that rule, no less), I guess I'll let it slide...Porygon2 is a rather logical creature, anyways, as well, so a logical misinterpretation is still technically following the orders, I guess...I've still got a plan, at least, so this is just a minor setback if we keep it...

However, a lot of the PMs I've been exchanging with Windos also assumed we were using the 1 HP rule, and he never corrected me on that either... :/

I'm kinda torn.  There's a logical side to it, but there's also a fairness side to it in that I feel I was lead on just a little because I missed three little words in the orders for Round 2 and nobody pointed it out...

All lot has been happening since I've been stuck making posts for hours on end...and retyping yet ANOTHER one after it got eaten by the blasted internet again. Graah...

To weigh in on the matter, I don't recall saying not to hold back, but I think Ventus' intent was more along the line of 'Give them a hard time' rather than 'Show them no mercy what so ever' . I don't even remember phrasing Ven's line's in such a way that would imply breaking the 1HP rule, but since its too late to change that and Iron said Chuckles would not have allow the rule in the first place... *Sigh* Iron, I will say this again: this battle is a unfun chore, and this is starting to bod true for Dragonstrike as well. Now we have miscommunication Faints on top of Curse and Sleep spam, making for a rather distasteful combination for me and them....blegh.

I did see the order Iron mentioned though, so...in Round 2's orders, you did specifically mention Aspis would Bite Banette until it fainted, so that's where that came from. It's why I specifically say things like 'until the pokemon is withdrawn' instead.

Anyways, there was just a lot of bad phrasing on both our parts, so oh well...we'll deal, though. This battle is still very doable, so I don't mind the miscommunication too much.

Also, don't feel pressured to keep posting in your campaign just because I am when we've got all this other stuff going on. I've got a LOT of spare time on my hands right now, so that's a big factor in the speed I can keep up with these threads. I'm sure Phantom is just waiting for her opportunity to jump into it as well, based on what she said earlier.

Its not that I'm feeling that pressure, its just that when my original post for Iron's thread got deleted somehow, it REALLY added a load of stress as I recreated it from scratch. I was starting to level out after I finished that task, but this whole miscommunication just ratched my stress/unhappiness levels on top my sentiments regarding this battle. When this battle is over, regardless who wins, I think I'll finally be able to just let this all go and return to my semi positive self. While the battle is ongoing, though, I am just finding more and more at fault with this battle, and remain an discontent grumpuss...

Take your time.  I totally understand feeling frustrated over things like this.  It's a big reason why I try to avoid stressing myself out, period.  I don't like going there, so that's why I just try to remain as chill as I can.  Listen to some relaxing music or ambient noise if I have to.

Windos, just as Ventus serves as the emotional backup to Shiva, know that you have my support out of character.

Oh, and see? Ven agreed to me about magic. It's real, the charm of it is real... It indeed can do the most horrible things and harm others like black magic does (Scimitars and F.A.E.S.?), it can awake the dead like common between necromancers (please don't), it can protect and help in several levels like white magic (Ven's exorcism for example) and try to make good use of energy and herbs like natural magic does (why do you think Shiva keeps wearing the gifted shard if duskgkass as a charm?).

However, I'm on @Iron's side concerning the Gym Battle. I feel you people have been at least warned once in-game by an NPC about Chuckles being no easy and merciful opponent, especially not with Ghost Types. Bad phrasing in ordes can happen anytime, looking through orders and edit the wording if needed might help...

I'm not really complaining about this too much, to be fair. I'm mostly just trying to get the mechanics straight, is all. I was expecting something hard, and so I've been prepping accordingly...mostly. Errors are bound to happen whether you're careful or casual, after all.

Besides, we have the advantage right now, so I really can't complain about that.
