(Unless you got the Initiative mixed up, Combee has + 2 more than Abaddon, so they would get to move first in the round. Unless I am mistake for some reason?)

This is actually a really interesting test case! The way it's worded, Mirror Coat still works if the attack hits and does no damage (same is true in the games, I believe).

The ACTUAL initiative order worked much more in your favor than the one that somehow got in my brain!

Ventus claps his hands at Abaddon's successfully taking down the honeybee, walking over to give them a hug for a job well done! "Great job, my child! That sneak attack was superbly executed, and you managed to come away completely unscathed from you battle! You are going to do wonderful in your first trainer battle, I am sure of it!" he said, praising his blue demon's actions in the battle, while also making double sure that neither the Big Buzz nor Gust actually did damage to him. The last thing he wants is for the little one to have an injury go untreated!

Once the examination was done (And they reacted however they wanted to his comments), the researcher recalled them to their Pokeball, before checking to see if their was any items like Honey on the fainted Combee. After that was done, he nodded his head and flicked his wrist, causing a Pokémon to shoot out and summon Apsis by his side! "My regal snake, my newest addition to our family, a baby Wobbuffet by the name of Abaddon, has knocked out this honeybee in his first fight. Since its passed out already, why don't you have this sweet treat they provided for you? Waste not want not, I say!" the researcher said, desiring to start feeding his snake her first real meal for the first time in days. He had not rewarded her himself for a job well done during Chuckle's battle, after all, so this should more than suffice as a present!

Cherubi Encounter Round ???


How nice to see... Things went alright. Were these the aftermaths of Lucky Chant? She didn't know - but whether it were or not, Shiva was rather pleased how both the training and tutoring went.

Even more pleased as she saw her magical fox munching on an apple gifted by Ven - well, who else?~ Hehehehe...aww. It soothed her that he was indeed not avoiding dear Braixen fo his magical and hidden psychic talent, just as he suggested it was more a timey factor and how Shiva herself does handle her furry mage. In fact, it was a rather similar issue to that one between her and Apsis. Poison. Toxins. Ugh...

...NO. My dear, you have Psychic Powers in your Pokemon's side to counter blasted Poison.
Ah, right... The thought still scares me.

Eh, well, she was more than delighted as Kyuu came directly towards her, aiming for pets. Oh my, she didn't expect the grey cat to be so clingy.. Meh, nevermind, the Espurr was relatively young just yet (if not, do correct me, Iron), but it held insanely strong psychic powers. So strong powers that it had to keep them tucked beneath his folded ears. Shiva was even more delighted as the Espurr randomly decided to fold his ears up juuuuust a little, which caused some nearby twigs of a strub to move at random.

Shince Shiva did fairly well understood what this meant - that was clearly Confusion Kyuu was performing there! - he received as much and as close snuggle as he wanted. Him still wearing that red tartan scarf she gifted the cat increased the cozyness.

Seeing that Ventus was expressing the desire to move on now deeper into Fireweed Forest, she considered for a moment, before she refused gently.

"Ah... Now already? ... You can go, but I'll stay here a little longer... Don't know, maybe I'll head to the shore of Greenbriar River to refresh myself a little..." In fact and put out bluntly, these were nothing more than excuses for 'I'm not feeling ready to move on.' Welp.

Watching Ventus go and to her relief not objecting this time - but having her promise to take care and call if anything bad arises - she withdraw her Abra, her Espurr and Braixen, before calling out Azurill and Cottonee. It's been a while since her Fairies enjoyed some free time outside their balls.

Making her way with them to a spot by the shore alongside them, she rested there for a while and wahsed away and streams of tears from before. However, without looking at her reflection on the water surface too much. "You're just a nerd..."

She'll stay here for a while, just enjoying the solitude and calmness alongside her Pokemon. It's been a while since she did that the last time, how long were they stuck in Corsage?! It felt like way too long... However, looking around, her glance fell on what looked like a whitered tree. Given the few leaves it was still carrying, she recogniced it as a cherry tree. How droll... Reminded on someone owning a Cherrim.

Wait a moment... On second glance, there was a Pokemon sitting on one branch. In fact, it was a Cherubi. A wild and alive Cherubi. Either the stars were really favorable to her lately, or she has gone insane instead of depressed... Or she wasn't taking the medication very well... Eh, whatever it was, she told Cottonee and Azu that she'll be back right away before she headed to that cherry tree to watch closer. Both Half-Faries are still in sight, just in case.

True story, it was a Cherubi. Oh my! However, it was a sad image as it nesteled there between old whithered branches of the tree. She awaited until the small Pokemon has noticed her presence before speaking to it in the usual calm tone.

"Uhm... Well, hey, I'm not here to harm ya. I'm...more worried what you are doing here, lil' one... There are bird Pokemon all around. It'll get dark soon, and nocturnal predators awake. Doubting you want to serve yourself, especially your smaller fruit body full of nutriouns, on the silver plate to them? Oh, no, wait, don't go now, there is no need to be afraid... In fact, I don't have any bird Pokemon with me."

Very very carefully, not to scare the small Cherubi away, she extended one hand to it, before withdrawing it mid-movement and instead offering both open hands to it, encouraging it to come to her. Right, she wanted to have that Cherubi. She really did. Only now she realized how much actually... No way she'll let go of it now.

She also took efforts to emit safety, care and calmness to that wild Cherubi.

That was the third encounter slot, so it'll be dark soon. Apsis gobbles down the Combee. Insects aren't her favorite food, but when they have been touching Honey they're a lot tastier.

Apsis, who is a calm stealthy predator, is very wary of Wobbuffet. But she would also never try attacking such a creature.

"Hey.  Name's Nathan.  I happened to stumble across a trainer's bag in Fireweed Forest as I was leaving Corsage.  Had some pokeballs and stuff in it, as well as a trainer card for 'Flick Rassan.'  Did you happen to lose any of that recently?"

The creature is pretty willful for a simple Grass type! But those lines about Birds - not possessing any, and not wanting them to reach it under cover - this all combined to make Cherubi hop into Shiva's cupped hands. The smaller, nutritional ball pulses, and grows rapidly as green energy flows from the withered bush into it. It withers and nearly vanishes, leaving a small dead patch in the grass too.

That's a strong Leech Seed!

Cherubi's skin is firm and cool on her palms. It keeps sneaking glances skyward now.
