[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

 (Your welcome!)

The empath easily detects the Rage like state the Pokémon has entered, and just sighs disappointly. "Abaddon, I'm afraid this beast has unfortunately lost its temper. Keep Countering the damage inflicted by Heatmor's Fury Swipes, and Switch to using Mirror Coat if it decides to start spewing flames in their wrath. Almost there, my child, just keep up the assault until you wore them out!"

Order: Keep using Counter to counter Fury Swipe damage, and if it decides to use a Special Move instead of Fury Swipes next round or in the future, Wobbuffet will logically use Mirror Coat instead. FINISH THEM!

Wobbuffet Fights An Anteater Round 6

Heatmor pauses between swipes to flick out his fiery tongue and bring in a berry that Ventus hadn't noticed. But before the anteater Pokemon can eat the berry, Wobbuffet lands his Counter!

Counter
(3)(4)(3)(5)(4)
(4)(4)(3) Heatmor faints, still clutching an Oran Berry.

Wobbuffet gains 5XP; Ventus gains 3XP (rounded up because of great command phrasing.)

In the distance, Wobbuffet screeches "mraaaak!!!" and cracks away at Heatmor's skull.

The forest is becoming a very noisy place.

"I've been gifted with two prophecies through my muse. Meditite is the one who receives them in his mind, and he must communicate them to me in any way he can discover. Often through his own music or dance. Once, he chanted a dire funereal dirge just moments before I got the call that my old chieftain was slain. Recently, he played some kind of horrible warning, dancing to an eerie, ghostly tune of foreboding doom! I still don't know what that one portends!!!"

"A good skald can repair any weapon or any instrument! I have the tools for fixing most of them in this giant pack, or locked away in Pokeballs."

It was absolutely pleasant to see - and hear - how much fun magical fox had, he seemed to enjoy the opportunity to the upmost. First that young female arrived there at his liar at night with an important looking book in hands and gifting him treats, then she became his Master, then helped him reach next stage in evolution, before they were on a trip through Fireweed Forest again and running into such a nice person with bells attatched in their hair. Oh, and the trip hasn't even reached the highlight yet...

Shiva was way more concentrated on the current situation than to connect that weird screech with Wobbuffet. She heard it, yes, but listening to both Elysia's stories and Braixen creating his own symphony was way more pleasant. Nevermind that she left the path...Coming back to it, well, she can worry about that later.

At some point, Kyuu fred himself from his Pokeball. Or Shiva unwillingly called him out without directly noticing, who knew, she can be that lost in thought that it might get scary... Didn't matter though, since the Espurr was wary at first a new person, but before that could develope into fear, Braixen already took care of the grey cat and ecnouraged him to sing - or meow and purr - along. Which Kyuu did carefully, quietly, but with such an adorable tone that it could melt the hearts of everyone nearby.... (His next move to learn shall be Disarming Voice!)

"Meditite are interesting Pokemon... Yet with the weird combination of Fighting/Psychic, but I feel they engage more in meditation or generly calm minds to unlock their power then actual melee... Well, who knows. But it's neat to know that the Pokemon can nevertheless communicate with us with their actions..." That forewarning scared Shiva somehwhat however. She didn't know why, but her mind connected the warning with some Scimitars in Wineberry, or, directly the elusive Skull Ruins. Something...must be there... Problem was, it's not possible to see WHAT without directly entering the Ruins. Oh my...

All that slight fear and terror were diminished, and soon vanished, as that Skald-person expressed herself INDEED capable of repairing instruments! Her expression lighted up. "That's wonderful to hear! Because... there, in Corsage, a little East from here, someone with the reputation of being a rather skilled Fortune Hunter - actually, she's called like that  exactly - is in need for someone who could repair a significant instrument of hers. I visited her, drank tea with her several times, she gifted me this shard of duskglass, she is indeed a good and pleasant person to be around... Would you, if you'd care that is, do me the favor to visit her?  She'll surely appreciate it greatly... Tell her Shiva sends you, and she'll understand." ... "Oh, missed that out, but you can call me like that. How about... I don't have enough battery storage on cell to call her just now, and we're in a forest anyway, so the call might not go through at all. But I'll give you her number and you can call her on your own, alright?"

If she'd agree, Shiva will draw that star-patterened hardcover journal of hers, write up the Fortune Hunter number onto one page, before ripping that site out of journal (Ouch) and handing it to Elysia with a smile and good hope.

"In return... I won't go anywhere and the others I'm traveling with are somewhere indefinable for me anyway, so how about...I know, I'll help you finding and catching a Kricketot?"

--------------
Mechanics:
Unless there will be a new set of Encounters or plotrelevant happenings that might need reconsidering, can I do that as a second Encounter? Shiva is silently rather fascinated by Elysia, and it'd be rude to ask her to do things without offering anything in return, after all.

Wobbuffet Fights An Anteater Round 6

VICTORY!

Ventus clapped his hand delightidly at Abbadon's victory, walking over to give them a nice big hug for their latest accomplishment! "Excellent work, my child! Well, besides that first Safeguard, but it was most likely your first time attempting the move, so it is to be expected. All of us must make mistakes in order to learn and progress, and neither you or I are exceptions to this, Abaddon. You still preformed wonderfully, though, so I'm proud for your victory none of the less, " the empath said, getting a happy warble and wave of emotions from his ward as they soaked in his praise. He may just be a little guy and not know a lot, but they are capable of great things!

Patting his blue bomber on the back, the researcher let them go, and walked over to the fallen Heatmor. He briefly contemplated feeding it to Apsis, before he banished the though. 'This particular Pokémon is far more clever than average, so it would be a waste to just let my Arbok feast upon it. Hmm...I will attempt to capture it instead. I'll release Apsis to paralyze it with Glare first, before throwing one of my two Pokeballs at it to increase my odds. They might be knocked out, but that Shiny Stunky taught me that even when unconscious, all Pokémon put up a fierce resistence to being forcibly captured," he thought, before he returned Abaddon and summoned Apsis (And firmly told her NOT to eat them, to her disappointment), took the Oran Berry from them, then ordered her to use Glare!

Order: Capture Heatmor after Apsis uses Glare on it. If it breaks both Pokeballs, Ventus will command Apsis to eat it instead. Waste not want not in ALL ways...

Let's see, -5 for being fainted, and -1 Glare. That leaves Heatmor just 2 dice.

Pokeball: (4)(5)
Heatmor: (3)(4)

Got it first try.

Heatmor obviously has Gluttony. This will add +1 dice to your berry rolls if he assists you. (may have to remind me of this).

He knows Hone Claws, Tackle, Incinerate, Lick, Fire Spin, and Fury Swipes.

He is not happy with you or Loyal to you, and may harbor resentment to Wobbuffet!

(Not planning on keeping him for myself, and he's being sent to the PC for now!)

The researcher was able to catch the anteater on his first try, greatly pleasing him and saddening Apsis. Being knocked out and menaced at by a giant hungry Arbok must have been great motivation for the Fire Pokémon to just quietly enter the Pokeball without much hassle... Returning his sister for the moment, he saw that all the buttons of Pokeball's were blinking blue, so Ventus just sent Heatmor for the time being. 'I don't quite know what I want to do with it, but I surely don't want its intelligence go to pot because a predator snakes on them - no offense to my own, of course. Well, now that is over with, and I'm in Fireweed proper, how about I search for that type of flower Ms. Maize (The Herbalist) informed me about? A King's Rock would be quite nice for Apsis or Raphael chances to Flitch the opponent, but even if I don't find one or the minerals that make it, the flowers would be a rather lovely find as well,' Ven thought, before nodding to himself.

He released Lucifer, who let out a delighted screech and fly up into the air, clearing enjoying his return to the autumn forest of his home town, before his master called them over. Descending from the canopy, the drake gave a cry of curiosity as their master chuckled at their antics, before they calmly commanded them: "My little devil, would you mind assisting me in find a certain type of flower? They look like (Insert description here), and are said to hide a particularly interesting treasure. Do you think you are up to the task?"

Order: Have Ventus and Lucifer search the forest for those types of flowers that herbalist he battled told him about earlier, before returning to the main trail and reuniting with everyone. The time for battle is over, so now for the treasure hunt!

(Need the exp from the Miller battle, @Iron)

And when Nathan's waiting for everyone else again, nobody shows up...

...again...

Dang it...he wanted to get to Wineberry already...the sooner they got there, the sooner they could figure out how they were going to handle the Scimitar base...and the sooner he could bury himself in a book or web search to see what he could find on the region of Holon (and simultaneously avoid Ventus)...

Well, while waiting, he could just spend a little time with his pokemon again.  The Combee could gather some more honey, he could give Grid 2 jars of Honey as thanks for all the hard work he'd been putting in, Swiftfire would get to stretch her legs a little...

The gloom was pretty hard to overcome, that's for sure...best try and appreciate the little things he knows he's still got...

5XP for the Miller battle. 2XP for Nathan, and Grid gains 1 point of Loyalty (mostly from the battle, but the deal is clinched by the honey!)

Survival -2:
(4)

This is indeed one of the areas the athelas shrub grows: along the shores of the Great River Greenbriar, wherever slag from Mt. Molten has washed up to be metamorphosed into the cliffs of its sheer banks. It is quite rare, and only with Noibat's help were you able to find it (which took a lot of coaching).

You eventually find the delicate white flowers and sweet scented leaves. Unfortunately, you do not find a usable King's Rock. You do find a small deposit of the proper minerals - with another find like that, and the help of Corsola's Ancient Power move, you could probably Craft one of your own.

Elysia accepts the phone number gladly, and sends a text to the Fortune Hunter.

"Let's look for that Kricketot while we await a response! Do you have any Pokemon that can cause sleep, poison, or paralysis?"

Think of the devil, and he shall come, for Ventus arrived soon after Nathan's Combee returned with the honey promised to Grid (Who subsequently gorged himself on the sweet treat), Lucifer perched on his shoulder eating a delicious Apple. The researcher noticed Nathan and his Pokémon instantly, but he had to restrain himself from interacting with the boy. So the empath just gave the boy a wave and a smile when they cottoned on to his presence ('Or choose to acknowledge me, as is the more likely case.'), before he walked over to a tree and leaned against it, enjoying the peace and relative quiet of Firewood with his much beloved Niobat. Lucifer continued to munch on his fruity treat, savoring both its delicious taste and his master's company.

(Waiting on you, Phantom! No rush, though!)
