Porygon2 finds no alarms, but there are several electronic devices he has to spend time investigating. He reports back with no sense of urgency. You think there's about 4 or 5 electronic things he must have investigated, and Porygon confirms this when asked. None were dangerous or alarmed.

Even after it turns out there are no alarms attatched or connected to it, Shiva nevertheless did not trusted that light switch entirerly. She'd be fine if someone else presses it, but she certainly won't do that on her own.

Giving a thumbs up to the digiduck , he told the rest of the group : "Alright, we have received the all clear from Porygon 2. I'll flip the light switch, and then we'll get started investigating this room. Leave no stone unturned, lest their be hidden treasure underneath it. In this case, dirt and secrets on those blasted Scimitars technology and activities..." Once that was done, Ventus went over to pick up the box cutter/knife, and stowed it away into his pocket. He felt MUCH better being armed with something more....versatile, rather than a couple of Sticks. 'Hmm, now that I have a knife, though, I could start sharpening them into small spears of some sorts. Decisions, decisions....'

"Alright, Ven, go ahead and press the light switch. A soon as we have light, I'll go and take a closer look at that green blinking there in the darkness -" *she points into the direction of it, which probably none can really see, though* "- it looks like an simply LED-Light to me."
"Besides, those electronic devices Porygon2 hinted to us... You think it''d be a good idea to silently destroy them using Grid and my rodents for safety, or leave them alone? Maybe it raises too much attention if we do..."
Somehow, Shiva felt like she began to be paranoid about almost EVERYTHING down here, which...worried her a little. But better take efforts to stay on the safe side, than dealing with problems that could have been prevented.

The researcher rubbed his chin at Shiva's plan of action, before he nodded his head, seeing no harm in it after the digiduck's analysis and search of the place. At her next comment, Ventus paused in the action of flipping the switch for a moment though, thinking on the idea for a moment, before he responded.
"If Porygon 2 has already download all the available information on them, by all means we should do so. If we cripple this base completely and gut it of all its valuable intel and technology, the Scimitars are effectively neutralized in this given area until further notice. Messing with them right now might not be a good idea, but when we find a way out of here and flushed out/subdued all of those vile Scimitars, scuttling this place would be optimal. As soon as the lights come on, I'll begin taking pictures of this place for documentation purposes, in case the League stumbles across our activites and tracks us down for question. Might as well have some evidence to save our skins and burn this cabel of wizards at the same time, worst case scenario...." Once that was said, the empath somewhat nervously flipped the switch!

The lights come on! (2nd choice was a garbage disposal).
This appears to be a laboratory! There are workbenches surrounding all the walls, with electrical outlets built into each table and into the walls. The one on the far wall has all the good stuff; the rest are just covered in enigmatic junk and stuff you could get in any hardware store. There's also a sink.
The well-used workbench has several things on it that might be of interest.
One is a device that looks like a CD player with a blinking green LED light.
One is an old-fashioned combination safe.
One is a weird network of wires and microchips running into an open glass mason jar. Some kind of putty seems to be inside.
There's a bookshelf containing three binders and a dictionary.
"De-evolution: a useful feature when move selection is of utmost importance, as for the Scimitars.
We currently have two ways to invoke this feature:
Castaclay, our own engineered solution, invokes the power of the Ghost type to envelop a Pokemon and redirect its energy to an earlier state; eg, Arcanine to Growlithe. Unfortunately it takes quite some time and a great deal of electricity to use, so it has not proved effective in battle. We meet with success in 8 out of 10 trials with Castaclay. Though the process does cause pain to its subjects, it is quite manageable and of no long-term consequence.
the Neverstone, acquired from Mallorn Industries at great cost. Meets with success 99 out of 100 trials, by his own report (see attached). Failure simply expends the Neverstone with no harm to the Pokemon. Currently our best solution, but we must either acquire more, or reverse engineer the item ourselves."
Technical reports follow. You can't make head nor tails of them - the process of making Castaclay seems to involve electronics, advanced mathematics, chemistry, computers, and something that's clearly in some sort of code.
"On recruitment strategies: Why bother? Scimitar policy is to avoid actively recruiting new members. With a glimpse into the organized crime of other regions*, we can see that this never turns out well for them. Too many incompetent recruits; too much wounded pride in bold, holier-than-thou trainers. Too many moles. No, gentlemen, we are fine where we are.
*Note: The Water Scimitar organization is, of course, not one of organized crime. Scimitar policy remains to only break laws when the ends justify it. Crime should never be a goal or motivation of any kind. The fact remains that analogues exist between Scimitar and Teams Rocket, Galactic, Magma, etc."
GENESECT
The Paleozoic Pokemon - a study of Legends and Layers.
Introduction: The people of Wineberry Town were overjoyed to learn there existed a legendary/mythical Bug Pokemon of such power and majesty. Little do they know the dark secret of Genesect's own history in Creshire.
Other regions: To understand Genesect's history in Creshire, one must briefly observe other regions. The legendaries of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Kalos, and Unova* have all come to light in recent times. From these encounters, it is clear that they bear little to no resemblance to the verified legends of Creshire, and comparisons can hardly even be made to unverified stories of those legends that have not been seen in modern times. It is thought that these foreign legendaries perhaps descended from the primordial forces of nature originally found in Creshire. Or perhaps it is simply that Creshire has better records of its ancient history.
Genesect in the Unova region appears to have been poorly constructed by just a few lone scientists, a few brilliant conspirators, drawn irresistibly to power. Naturally, Genesect's strength is still unmistakable compared to everyday, common Pokemon.
Creshire: In Creshire, Genesect have surfaced at least four distinct times. They may have been almost commonplace in the Paleozoic era, for incomplete fossils still occasionally surface. The First Technical Society (FTS), primitive as they were, managed to revivify a single Genesect and grant it simple modifications such as wheels, primitive Drives modified from holy Plates, and a spear launcher. It is thought that Genesect was an early source of electricity for this scarcely-researched Society.
King Sarimanok and his legion of alchemists were certainly capable of modifying Genesect fossils, in a terrifying display of power that puts the secret Genesect project of Unova to shame. The original League gave this small Genesect army its full attention in the opening moves of the revolution and would surely have been destroyed in later battles if other legendaries had not assisted the league. We would love to know which legendaries exactly joined in. This may allow us to modify an even better Genesect.
The enigmatic Scavengers also resurrected a Genesect, poorly copying the job Sarimanok did. Their Genesect was adapted more for defense than offense.
Modern Significance: Pokemon come in cycles. This is well known among Pokemon researchers. There are many historical cycles relevant to Genesect, as we have already discussed. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that Genesect has a predisposition toward modification.
More information can be found in the Library.
Our beloved Genesect base Drives also contribute greatly to our quality of life, despite being merely based on stolen designs and not truly functional as desired. We will need more gold if we are to reach the technological level necessary for real Drives.
Any information on Gensect, whether fossils or technology, is to be passed up the chain of command in an expedited process.
*Sinnoh's Creation Trio may be an exception; not yet known.
No other exits are apparent.

Nathan takes the time to read through the binders. He's here to help gather information after all, and the more quickly they got that done and got out, the better. He takes some notes in his journal while reading the info.

Whoahw... Turned it was safe to press the switch. Lucky this time.
Blinking in the light and taking down the arm she shielded her eyes with, Shiva just...stared at the surroundings with awe. Looks like a laboratory - after the primitivity of scattered bones, moist cinderblock walls and a ragged Scimitar, this change was a little overwheliming, yet it was nothing bad nor did this lab pose any threath to her - at least not so far.
However, it was rather weird to her. She expected the Scimitars way less depending on technology and electricity and being closer to the 'magical' aspect, were these 'wizards' in the end nothing more than Scientists with a faible for the Elements?
Placing the stove down on some of of the workbenches - there was no need currently for its faint light, this workbench was full of stuff she failed to imagine what their use might be, as well as nothing more than junk and ordinary tools - , Shiva also placed Kyuu down to the ground, but ordered the psychic cat to stay close to her and please not touch anything. At that point, that sink also caught her eye - was it there for the simple purpose of washing hands and tools, or more...enigmatic purposes? Like, why were there bones scattered around in the first place... Unwillingly, she shivered once more at the thought.
The tone she spoke to Ven was both amazed over the techonogy here, as well as wondering what the hell they were examinating here. "Ven... Make sure to take LOTS OF PICTURES of this place, alright? Whoahw... What a change in surroundings, huh? Alright, come with me, Kyuu... Bet you too picked up that green blinking light."
Searching for mentioned blinking light in the light area - seeing it was way more easy while it was dark... - , she passed a bookshelve that contained three important looking binders and a dictionary, but she left them being for now. Nathan was already busy here.
... ... ...
That green blinking was indeed a simply LED-light, and it was attatched to an ordinary CD-Player. Was that blinking normal? Did someone used that device just before? First thing Shiva checked was whether there is any CD or record in it, practically anything. It could contain important information, or spoken reports of experiements/projects, or some sort of background music while working down here, or it could be nothing at all...
While doing so, her gaze fell on that safe... It looked rather old-fashioned, and it will only open with a combination. One that she does not have, and it would take ages to try until something matches... However, a safe in a laboratoy containes either something very worthy, or something very dangrous. Or, in a strike of bad luck, it could be empty. Whatever option it was, it caught her interest. After considering for a little - staring at it will likely not open the safe, too bad - she called out Azu, and showed the safe to her. No need to shiled any light currently.
"Okay, Azu... You already displayed your uncommon strength to me. What do you think, could you use your huge power, to somehwhat do something about that safe? I'd like to know what is inside, if it does contain anything at all."
------------
Mechanics:
Alright, if there is any recording inside that player, Iron, play it out for me, please! I doubt Cottonee could Infiltrate the safe, so that idea is scarpped. However, maybe this is a point where Azu's Huge Power could be helpful? As for that glass jar with wires, microchips and putty - that'll likely catch her interest that soon as well since she's close-by. Anything else needed to be known about it, like, is it removable or plugged to anything, what happens if Shiva touches it, does that putty inside give a natural or rather anorganic looking?

Edit Reason: OOC informs IC, ultimately
)
Ventus, upon picking up his new Knife (Any stats on it, @ Iron?) and giving a quick once over to the room around him before he takes his camera out and starts photographing the whole area, from the work stations , lab table, and even all the useless and common place odds and ins. Any and everything that could be recorded as evidence to cover their collective posterioirs, in the event of Cheshire League interference, WOULD be documented. Once that was done, the researcher instantly gravitated towards the shelf with the bound notebooks and dictionary, picking each of them up, flipping through them to glance at their contents. What he saw interested him GREATLY (He swore a bit when one Binder was about Genesect, though he tried not to be too loud), but he also wanted to see what was in that safe, and since he spotted Nathan coming over to himself to look through the books, he decided to leave the task to him to more thoroughly read and record the information (Or just take the binders instead).
Ventus then headed over to the safe, clicking his tongue to call Lucifer over to his side, who was busy do his own Frisking of the room. So full of weird and crazy things, all ripe for the picking! Seeing that Shiva was already their and about to use Azu to tear it open, he placed a hand on her should to get her attention. "Do you mind if I try cracking this safe first with my Niobat, before we have to smash it open? I rather not do that and find out it had fragile objects within it, but if its the only way in....then so be it (@ PhantomUnderYourDesk: Looks like we have two different designs on this safe! How do we resolve this?) When Azu just went ahead to pick up and try to break the safe anyway and fail, Ventus almost sweatdropped at the sight, before he sighed and motioned toward the safe for the shake of his drake. He then got down on the ground and put a hand on the safe's dial and urged them to come closer to his side; specifically, he pointed them to roost near the lock mechanism. "Lucifer, I need your help unlocking this shape, as I rather not have to melt through its hinges with Haniel's Ember. When I turn the dial, listen closely for any of the tumblers going *Click!*, and just nudge me so I can stop, record this number, and find the next one. If we do this right, we should be able to crack into this safe with minimal hassle. Think you are capable of doing this task for me?"
Order: Take those binders with me (After Nathan is done taking notes and doesn't raise any objections, of course), then go over to the safe and try to crack it with Lucifer's help. If that fails, return him and send out Haniel to use Ember/some of her lava to melt through the hinges off as carefully as possible. I want what is in hear!

(I feel before Ven can do anything with Lucifer on the safe, Azu has her try, since I went off to the workbench where it stands right away, while Ven took his time to take photos and read through the binders? However, any help is appreciated on opening the safe!~)
