[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Nathan gives Ventus an incredibly serious looking stare.  "Fine.  Go on your needless errand then.  Doesn't matter that only one Scimitar seems to know more about us than the others, and that he was an Earth Scimitar instead of a Water one.  Doesn't matter that what we did do looks like nothing more than a job that involved snatching the devolution items and leaving immediately through the easiest route.  Doesn't matter that destroying that door would take all day at least since it's really far away, underwater, probably incredibly sturdy, and likely highly dangerous to tamper with.  Doesn't matter that Mallorn is going to be waiting for us in Ginger Town and we should probably get going ASAP, both to meet him and avoid drawing attention from the Scimitars since we still have the devolution items on hand.  You go do that, and tell me later what exactly you accomplished in the long run by poking and prodding them once or twice without knowing where to strike them where it hurts.  If they're in league with Almanac, fixing a door or that lab is probably rather easy, and we don't exactly have the know-how nor the time to wage a full-on battle of attrition with an enemy that's likely far more powerful than us.  The League didn't beat Sarimanok by blasting his castle's walls with the occasional Hyper Beam."

Ventus raises an eyebrow at the extremely passive aggressive tone and feelings that his friend Nathan was giving of directly in response to his logic, before closing his eyes and shrugging his shoulders. "Ok then. I'm glad that I have you endorsement on this matter my friend, however reluctant it may be. We'll meet you outside of Winesberry by nightfall, and will call you if any trouble comes up during our task, or if we find anything particularly interesting. In the mean time, do you wish to share the notes you took yesterday night now, or wait until we exit town before we all look them over and discuss their content?" he said, all with a completely sincerity (In both tone of voice AND feeling), his cheerful smile right back on his face. If Nathan was spoiling for a fight, or was trying to garner a reaction out of them with their fairly incendiary words, then he would be disappointed. The researcher wasn't expecting this particular reaction from them, but it was still a negative reaction to his logic all the same. Both sides had laid their cases out now, and since neither side was budging towards the other, the empath simply decided to employ and old adage: to each their own - and not start anything that could get out of hand, which he did not want happening again. At least, not so soon after what happened last night....

Nathan narrows his eyes.  He obviously didn't approve of this at ALL.  They had more important things to be doing than poking a Beedrill (not hornet) nest with a stick.  His response is brief.  "When we leave town.  And don't blame me if Mallorn says we're late."

Kirlia's frowning.  That hadn't gone how he'd expected it to at all...

"Very well, then. Though, if you are worried about time, why not take all the items he's interested in researching into your possession, then Teleport straight to Trillum Town- or Ginger Town, if he's making his way there already- and give them to him directly, and then Teleport back to us when Kirlia has recovered? That would be the most expedient way of getting these items in his possession, with minimal risk of Scimitars or other forces trying to recover the items," Ventus replied, a faintly curious look on his face. Unless Kirlia was incapable of preforming the task, that seemed to be the simplest solution to that deliema.

Nathan's eyes narrow some more somehow.  "You and I both know that's not how Teleport works.  It's not Fly, and can't be used that way."

"Honestly? I recall working with several Psychic types with the move that could Teleport around to the locations they knew or have at back in Unova, so I don't know where you are getting that idea from. Hmm....maybe it another curiosity of the Cheshire region, like with HMs and your abnormally - compared to most of the world - strong connection with Pokémon? Or it could be that I was working with powerful enough psychic that could do such a thing. Interesting...."

They're doing it again, my dear...

Ugh.

While Nathan and Ventus had their passively agressive argument...conflict...fight...whatever, Shiva prefered to remain silent, but still attentive while finishing brushing throuougly the stands and tips of her hair. She actually finished around the time when Ventus expressed their plans to visit and dismantle the underwater entrance of the Water Scimitar's Base, but Nathan's reaction to it came unexpectively strong and harsh, and in that moment she knew that things are getting difficult again. For the nth time, between them that is. So she decided to just stay there, play 'I'm busy, so keep on by yourselves', while listening to both sides before actually speaking up.

Oh right, she also wanted to either call or message the Fortune Hunter Lady before actually looking at the PC as she told her - why actually? Oh, the joyful anticipation!~ - and while Shiva actually wanted to do that before they leave the Pokemon Center, she couldn't just leave the table now, as much as she subliminally desired to do. This was getting slightly annoying, while it was rather nice to see that 1. Nathan seemingly snapped out of apathy and 2. Ventus decided not to ex- or implode this time. He has learned what this may cause. Something Nathan has yet to do...

As Ventus explained the mechanics and his experiences of Teleport if used by or alongside a Pokemon - which Shiva could definitely share and sign according to her knowledge, but seemingly that was just how the move worked in Unova, not here in Chreshire - and Nathan seeminly didn't know how to reply on this since he stayed silent for a while and just glancing annoyed and tired at the researcher, Shiva decided that it was just enough now. They'll never get to anything if none of them would yield under the situation. The consequences for the whole group wouldn't be pretty though, that was for sure, regardless who would 'win' in the end.

She herself stayed calm on the outside. The only thing that would imply that she doesn't approve the situation they're soft-stuck in now was the dangerously lower tone in her voice. Not icy, but not soft as usual either. "Okay... Finished with sharing your reasons? Good~ Because both of you, we won't get aynwhere if we go on like this. Ven, it's pleasant that you manage to stay calm. Nathan, it's pleasant to see that you're not apathic anymore. However, I personally...have nothing against dismantling the underwater entrance of their Base, but I won't object if we don't. They can freely know that someone's after them and is fighting against them. Like...if we ever meet those Guards again -" Now, that was when her voice got that ice touch! "- leave them to me. I'll make them...pay..for hurting me both emotionally and physically..." Remaining silent for a while and dwelling in Nasty Plot, she relatively quickly caught herself again and continued like before. "Even if the Scimitars already found out about the loss of their Neverstone and that jar-thing with wires and microchips (Yes, she'll remain to call the apparature like that) and these spiteful Guards would connect it to these strangers we were, I doubt they'd cotton on that is was US right away. Like, they didn't actually saw our faces, these robes and coats had quite large hoods, had they? Right, if they decide to come for us, they have to find us first, which won't happen right away."

At this point, she paused shortly and seemingly catching up on breath for more words, before she continued with facing Nathan in a...tired look. "...There is one thing that I don't really get, though - Why are rushing like this lately? Is there a reason to do so? Is there anything urgent you wish to do? You know, probably just like you, I have plans...particularly for Ginger Town. I'm quite eager to get there by myself, for meeting up with the Daycare owners again, for studying and taking on the exam for my Breeder's Lisence and for my Gym Battle against Zamboni, but I'm not rushing... There is a fine line between not wasting time and making haste."

"I also assumed you would rejoice or at least have nothing against making as short rip to Trillium again to meet Professor Mallorn there." ... "Oh, you arranged that he'll meet us in Ginger Town instead? Alright... I actually thought a short stop-by at your Ranch; yes, not Farm, I remember; would do good to you and Kirlia. We already know Route 1, and would likely pass it in way less time than on the first go. Wouldn't you and your Mum be delighted to see yourselves once more before we travel South and you'll likely won't see one another in person for a looong time...? I know I would..." Her voice then got just a little bit gloomy, mostly for the effect of her next words. "You see, you have the luck to stay in contact with your mother or family in genral though the journey. Both me and Ventus CAN NOT. Ventus for obvious reasons, me because the connection to Castelia City or Unova or anyt other region in general is bad in Chresire. They told me I'm not supposed to call home, but maybe you can imagine how I'd enjoy to tell my Dad over the screen over my progress with my first own Pokemon. And get advices concerning feeding them from Mum. And seeing how Spectral is doin'..."

(Current strategy: Trying to reach through Nathan to break his bad state and subliminally calm him by exaggerating on own homey-feels and maybe awakening them in him.)

As Shiva mentions emotions vs logic, Nathan lets out an incredibly deflated sounding sigh.  "Taking your anger out on a door isn't going to solve anything...this isn't a situation where emotion should be followed over logic..."

He would have said more, but Shiva's inquiry as to why he's rushing causes him to...clam up.  He looks at the floor...he really didn't want to talk about it...he was trying to avoid thinking about it...he just wanted to get away from here already...

And then Kirlia starts reminding him about that headache...Nathan winces, then Kirlia lets up again.

Still looking at the floor and speaking rather quietly, "I just want to get out of here already...before anything else bad can happen..."

He doesn't comment on the family part.

Alright... He didn't jumped onto bringing up his family. Maybe should not have done that. Eh, forgetting this though before Shiva of all costs starts to feel too homesick.

This was bad, this led into the wrong direction, you're going to mess with him even more than necessary, he's spiraling down, my dear, by all means do anything!!!
Alright...Alright...

She immediately got back to that soft, compassionate mood, voice and expression. No more mischievous mind-games. "Nathan... Nate, that's all I wished to hear. If you're feeling THAT uncomfortable, we'll surely leave town and move on, okay? Sorry Ven, no dismantling the entrance nor hunting...  See, while you somewhat did mess with us or in particular me because Ventus is all forgiving to you when I need time to do that, I'm not thrwing you away, you hear? I still consider you a friend. You remember all the happy moments we shared? Like, Honey Party? Try to remember that event and the joyfuk feelings you and we all had together, alright? You need regain strenght first before battling or saying that you're sorry to me - which I'd appreciate, but don't do that until you mean it, please - maybe you'll do that along the way? The lair of my magical fox is just along the way, I just wish to do a quick stop-by with Braixen..."

"Please get better soon. We are there if needed. That crack of trust between us is no complete loss of my trust in you, you hear? I still care for you. Now...before we leave, let me run some quick errands first, I need to send a message to someone and do something on the PC over there. You're fine to give me a few minutes before we all leave the Center and town?"

Nathan doesn't comment on that either...Shiva mentioning his need to apologize wasn't helping matters any...he didn't need to be reminded about it constantly...
