The Shield Maiden looks around and spots a dead tree. "Scizor!" Scizor appears in a flash of Pokeball light. "Slice this tree into stumps for us to sit on, and make us some wood for a campfire. Then you can go for a joyflight if you wish."

That done, she takes a seat on the stump and lights a cheery fire even though it's daylight. She pulls out some taters and veggies and wraps them in foil to go on the coals. "Help yourself when they're done."

"Yeah, I'm aware she'll be quite a bit tougher later, though it could take awhile yet...grew up on a Ponyta Ranch, after all.  THE Ponyta Ranch, in fact: Warren Ranch.  Never ceases to amaze me how well my mom's done with the business...I kinda hope I can help Swiftfire become at least as strong as Bo's Rapidash someday..."

Nathan pulls out the fireproof brush again, and starts brushing Swiftfire down while waiting for the snacks to cook.  Swiftfire's feeling a little drained after that battle, so there's no visible complaints from her.  "You did well, girl.  Exactly what I needed you to do.  It didn't go as well as we'd have liked it to, but you still did a spectacular job.  We're going to just relax here for a little bit while we wait for the others, okay?"

Gyarados roars in triumph, and nearby boulders in a small waterfall quake.

Michael scuttles back to Ventus, but he's so worked up about surviving two entire rounds against such a mighty foe that he won't stop running around Ventus in circles, making little huffy noises.

Shiva tilts her head toward the source of the noise. A trail of whipping stems follows the loud, ceaseless noise, as of a constant low wind. The trail gets close, and Shiva can see that a lady covered in a random, thick assortment of flapping fabrics is the source of the noise.
She's mounted on a Ponyta, and clutching a Woobat, aiming it at the ground in front of her. The Woobat is emitting a constant happy Gust of wind from its mouth, bending flowers out of Ponyta's way. Some petals fly up and land on Shiva.

"Whoa, Equisetum! Hi, young one! I'm Xiani. I'm sorry to have disturbed you! I'm on the watch for a green-petaled flower, have you seen any? No? Yes, they're quite hard to spot against the grass and stems. That's why I have Tacca here to disturb the stems and sort of separate them out as I go. That, and to keep Equisetum from burning them as we go. I'm on my way to Ginger Town for the Running! A mounted healer who can keep up with the Runners is very useful! I see you have Pokemon...Well, since our eyes met, would you like to battle? We could make a little wager, if you like."

...Neat. Just as she was about to doze off, that noise happened and prevented any calm rest. Oh well, maybe it was better this way, since she doesn't want to see how Ven would react if he'd spot her sleeping in a blasted flower field, it'll likely remind him the flower field that his mother visited. Better not...trigger anything... Helios didn't really care about the noise, while Kyuu came closer to his Master and looked up to her with his wide purple eyes, as if saying "Do you protect me now? I battled for you, so please!"

Doesn't matter though, since as soon as Shiva wrapped arms around her Espurr and got upright to see just what is coming for her. Didn't take long until she found the source... And by the look of it, she couldn't help but to feel amazed by that woman on a Ponyta and her Woobat. She emitted strength, grace and some sort of awe, all traits that caught Shiva's interest. She didn't even cared that much that mentioned Woobat has blown up petals into her hair that will likely stay there until she'd take the effort to brush them out.

"Ugh... yeah, Hi." It was clear that Shiva was rather unsure how to handle this. "No worries though, you didn't...disturb me... you're absolutely awe-inspiring. I didn't even know green-petaled flowers can be found in this area; if I would, I would have kept an eye open. Would you...or rather, do you know are used for? You tell me before battle? I myself am interested in herbology, so... Oh, and true, that Espurr and Abra here are mine. I'd actually be down for a battle, my Fairies could use some practice, and that flower field seems like a nice scene for that. How many Pokemon you have, and...do I...have to battle that Ponyta with that pretty name? Fairy/Grass, you know, but I also have an Azurill that wishes nothing more than to evolve... I also have enough money aside for wager. You make the offer though, please."

So, seemingly, if you look a person into the eyes, it's a silent challenge to a battle? Alright... That was somewhat new to Shiva, something she'll have to get comfortable on the quest for more strength.

 "Don't worry about the claw Theo, we'll get it after Kecleon's down. And, Froakie, use Lick instead of Bubble if  Kecleon is blue. Same goes to you Theo, just use Metal Claw if Kecleon turns to dark-type".

 Valder is slightly annoyed by how Kecleon is wrapping up his Froakie, but can't deny its skills.

I need some medicines on stock for the Running, if you know what that is. I'm afraid I only have one Pokemon who's not got an unfair advantage against grass types, so perhaps a 1v1 battle for $300?"

I also heard about The Runnin taking place in Ginger Town in four days, me and some others are traveling there currently. Though, I don't know if I'll get to see it. And YOU will directly participate or just stay watch if you're a Healer?"

"Hmmm... I also have a Braixen, maybe he could accompany my Cottonee to make it a 2vs2-Double Battle? I enjoy Double Battles... And the fox has been somewhat sad lately - not because of me, though! - maybe some battle will light up his spirits, or release any anger and frustration he seems to feel?"

 Valder was satisfied. "How are you Froakie? Okay?" Valder turns his attention to Theo. "You've gotten quite strong, Theo. I want you to try and cut down this tree" Valder points at a short but sturdy looking tree with a thick log. "I'll help, but I want you to be the one to cut it, you have the fury of the night in you!"
